The biggest disappointment in Kia for me was the dealership experience. I owned BMWs before, and every purchasing experience was a breeze. Kia dealer would try to nickel and dime you for everything, just a $750 doc fee was a fun thing to discuss:) Why did I have to fight over a 3K markup during a pandemic where every customer is a blessing everywhere? This is a thing with these budget brands - even while their cars get better and in some cases (like this one) can match many upper class traits...dealer network cannot adjust to a more luxury car performance. Too bad, as I won't be getting a Kia anymore after this lease ends. I value my nerves more than extra 20k. Because mental health is more valuable than brain suck during talks with these bottom-feeder sales managers.
For some reason I can totally relate to what you are saying as I've experienced similarly to yours recently to my vehicle purchase.

Sorento is sportier looking to me........but should give you option for just 2 rows. Stop stuffing 3 rows in vehicles that cant be used by people over 5 feet.
Sorento turbo engine is amazing. More torque than telluride v6 and almost same horsepower . Great power train , but needs awd to get that power to the ground

I own a Sorento SX with all of the fixings, but am in love with the more spacious Telluride. However, not sure if i want to give up my all glass roof(panoramic).

I have 2021 Sorento LX . Great car.
5:58 nobody knows whether its a good engine yet, you normally should stay clear of any new engines for at least a year to see what happens. Kia and Hyundai have been recalling their engines for years now due to catastrophic failures. Just this past week new recalls were issued.
Its been in several other vehicles and they don't have problems.
This is the 2nd year for the Telluride.
The Hyundai had that horrible dual clutch transmission where the computer was always confused. Thankfully after the test drive of a Tucson, I realized that I've dodged a bullet. It seems like the the Telluride has a regular automatic transmission unlike the Tucson.
Too bad the Sorento isn’t offered with a V-6 option. I have an older Sorento with a V-6 and love it. I guess Kia needed to reach mandated fuel economy goals and wanted to “encourage” customers to buy the pricey Telluride. COVID production interruption has decreased Telluride availability and allowed dealers to price gouge. I have not bought the new Telluride due to price and, if the rest of the industry learns from the Telluride’s success, may opt for a different manufacturer. So much for brand loyalty...
Think the Sorento looks better than the Telluride. Kia should have added the digital dash and wireless apple car play to the Telluride for 2021.
I would agree with you 100%. I imagine it will be apart of the refresh in a year or two.

New Sorento is awesome..but I still prefer the looks of the Telluride just a bit more. Such a well proportioned and distinctive looking vehicle (especially with those amber DRLs)
@@fcex558 Good points but to imply that the Sorento won't be on the road after 5 years because of boosting is a bit excessive..
What he didn't verbally say was one vehicle has turbo engine the other one doesn't. In other words one engine will last longer the other one won't. Have a blessed day.
Sorento loses value quicker than the Telluride. Telluride much more boss!
Sorento costs less. If you are going for a more expensive version of the Sorento I’d recommend Telluride at that point.
just went and looked at both, the Sorento interior is much nicer. lots of plastic in the telluride for the price. Also the Sorento is more fun to drive by far. the twin turbos will get up and go. two things Kia need to do is make garage door opener standard and a create place to put your sunglasses. also self driving mode in sorento is crazy, but cool. be aware there raising prices by 8 grand over MSRP on telluride for market adjustment.

Telluride is lacking the full digital gauge cluster and panaromic moonroof. Sorento has a better looking updated interior, unfortunately its smaller, especially the third row is useless. If spacing is my number one priority, i would still go with the Telluride.

Per KIA Features pdf, where are the following items that are present on the outside the USA Sorento, the 2020 Sorento or the sister 2021 Santa Fe????: Power Folding mirrors, Rain Sensing wipers, Heated rear seats, 2nd row sun shades, Homelink Mirror, digital key, remote parking, rear seat quiet mode, heads up display, auto up one touch rear windows, Ambient lighting, perforated steering wheel, trailer sway control, trailer wiring, Memory seats/mirrors, voice recognition of windows/temp, drivers seat leg extensions, rear suspension auto leveling?????????
NONE of these are listed as 2021 KIA Sorento Features for ANY trim!!!
I'll buy a Santa Fe Hybrid Limited with most of these KIA Sorento missing features!!!! Really want a Calligraphy Hybrid for ALL the KIA missing features.............
I appreciate your comment. Some of the features you listed are options on the Kia including power folding mirrors, Homelink Mirror, and Quiet Mode. Hyundai is a good competitor but it doesn’t come even close on styling. If you have any questions feel free to comment again.

@@normgilbertson3975 Norm I think they know what features they have and didn't have I think the problem is it's being made in Alabama and the rest of the world is being made in Japan so we probably won't see any of this until the next model year unfortunately which is why I am not going to get a 2021 Sorento cuz I really wanted these features too. :( The SX prestige just doesn't have what it needs
@@swissmrkc They weren't in the Features pdf they released. the Homelink mirror shows at extra now and they still don't acknowledge power folding mirrors....i'D FIRE ALL THEIR ASSES IF THEY WORKED FOR ME!!! Gross incompetence!!! at least they don't have control over Hyundai USA.........

Does the Sorento drive a bit more "smoother" and less cumbersome since it's smaller than the Telluride? Also is the Telluride quicker in acceleration due to the bigger motor?
I feel the Sorento is more comfortable. Sorento is slower to accelerate in this trim but if you do opted for the 2.5l turbo that is an option in the Sorento, it becomes faster. Thanks for watching my video! Please subscribe to my channel!!

On the SX trim it is an option. It will probably be available in more trim later.
It does not :( not even prestige....no knob shifter, no mood light, no HUD. Other regions do :( Alabama isn't so good at making em yet unfortunately
@@swissmrkc Thank you for watching and commenting on my video! Unfortunately HUD is not current available. You can get the knob shifter on the Hybrid Sorento. Kia went with the traditional shifter because in there studies more customer want the traditional shifter.

I thought LED light is standard for all trim for 2021? Is that only in U. S. A?

The sales and demand tells all. Telluride is boss. Sorento is its sister but also its stiff competitor. The Hyundai Palisades is extremely nice as well.
Nice review! For the 2021 Sorento, do you know if the SX Prestige X-Line comes with 2nd row bench seats or only the captain chairs? Kia website (still not updated for 2021 Sorento) says 7-seat is standard but every videos/photos for X-Line out there shows captain chairs, no bench. Thanks.

Yeah dude I'm not trying to sell the car but I want to be a buyer but unfortunately the only trim that you can get the bench seat is the base trim. :(....there's a reason the brochure hasn't come out yet
@@swissmrkc you can get bench seat on the S trim as well which adds Sofino seating surfaces and heated seats along with UVOlink and Roof rails.

Is the emblem REALLY any worse than Ford, or Nissan, or Jeep’s logos which also say the actual name? Or are people just not a fan of the “Kia” brand and what it USED to represent? They’re changing the logo for 2022 I heard.
