I’m going full send on my is300. Rebuilding the suspension then looking for engine/manual swap parts. Sadly the is300 is one of the last affordable and decently cool cars. Everything else is way too expensive honestly.
Nice update, hopefully you keep the is300. I just got done with my manual swap and makes me want to drive it all the time now vs my durangos. The videos were great motivation to get in the garage and get things done so keep up the great content!
I used to own 2 2001s, one silver and still have my black one with the “obnoxious beige interior.” When I got rid of the silver one it had 247,*** miles and pulled stronger than my black one which has half less of the mileage with all maintenance records from Toyota (previous owner). These are well built cars and that’s an understatement as you guys know - I was hard driving the kidneys and liver out of this car for 2 years non stop and never had a hiccup nor a single pblm with it. My only complaint was the poor mpg lol. Looking fwd to manual swap the blk one. Jason your car interior looks spotless clean - Thanks for your feedback
Yup I dislike getting 19mpg and still having a slow car haha. I’m surprised you mentioned my interior, it actually just looks better on video. I spray painted it due to having the sticky dash issue and now the clear coat is fading but oh well, at least its not sticky
I got my IS back in 2006. Over the course of its life its lack of desireability has seen it depreciate 85%. I saw an avalanche of kids trading their civics and buying IS300's in an attempt to woo females with their mad tyte formula drifts and 1000 horsepowerzez too jay zee y0. Unfortunately times change and I should have sold mine when it was still worth something with its drivetrain swap as it just sits now. I don't use it but I cannot just let something that took me so much time and money go for pennies :'(
Yeah hopefully u get around to turboing it! I wanna one day eventually either turbo it and make like 300hp or just LS swap it sense those engines are dirt cheap and easily make 300+ hp stock.
Realistically I probably will end up slapping a turbo on it, I’m just being such a cheapskate lol Ls swap would be cool to see. It’d be a good car for it, I say do it!
I have an 07 TL Type S, great car but I have ALWAYS wanted one of these! Its smaller and less space, worse gas mileage, older tech, slower stock, hard to find clean and in good shape in my area.. With all that being said I just LOVE the way the car looks in and out, RWD is nice, worse space but a smaller lighter car is fun, very 90’s vibe this car has which I love and most of all its a Lexus so its bulletproof. I guess I’ll keep my TLS until I can find a clean one worthy of getting, I wont settle for a dirty clapped out 300.
Take your time finding the right one. I pulled the trigger on mine and kinda regret it but oh well (not to mentioned I ruined it by spray painting it 😂) great great cars
@@jasonlazo5016 absolutly, I made this mistake with another TLS, it was in a crash, messed up in so many ways, I just wanted it so bad that I convinced myself I would replace the bumpers, etc etc worst mistake ever lol I really want one in white and in good condition, might take some time but I’ll get it! So stock is 215hp, how expensive would it be to make it around 300hp?
4:15 I dropped a 1jz with the auto 4speed in my is300 and it's a blast. I liked the a650e too. E shift is nice when I want it, I daily the car atm so its easier.
I put a 1jz in my s14 maybe 3 years ago. I would love to do that to this car but 1jzs are not $1500 anymore. They go for $4500 now and that’s not cool P.S. I’m jealous of your car
@@jasonlazo5016 I got my whole powertrain setup for 2.2k earlier this year before covid. They have gone up so much its not worth it anymore imo. 1uz was my plan b
I love this car and channel I recently got my is300 finally after watching your videos about them for so long
Awesome congrats! How you liking it?

So true. Good luck on your build!
I just got one, its crazy good

No problem! I know it was all over the place, I will try to stick on topic for future update videos

What's the lip that you have on top of the factory spoiler? Mine is chipped.
Some cheap $12 eBay fake carbon fiber looking lip, it’s survived longer than I thought

Ohh that’s be really cool to see. 1uz are pretty cheap and underrated
Can’t wait to get a altezza ima import on bc they are cheaper too and I want the real deal jdm one with the 3S-GE
I drive my is300 manual swap na-t to the track and back home every weekend no problem 😉
How the hell you find a manual..
This one I manual swapped it. I bought a whole wrecked manual IS to do it
I got my is300 about a year ago too however i daily it tho i do have weekend cars too so i understand lol
You know the struggles haha
👏
I sometimes think of cheating on my IS300 with a facelifted LS430.
Still love the IS though.
I’m all about that, I’ve always wanted a chaser front end on an IS to satisfy my need of a chaser haha I know exactly where you’re coming from. Do it!
@@jasonlazo5016 love meself a chaser too. The problem is I can’t afford having both. Morgage coming soon. Cheers.
