    Hey Eric! I am in my car at the driving range now, went here after seeing this video... I tried swinging with slower tempo, and doing what you did in this video.... Wow, I have never had a session like this. I found my tempo, and no more slice. You have saved my golf life😁 Can't believe how simple this was. What I realized was that I have been hitting way to fast and hard, but doing it so much slower actually gave me more control and the same distance. Thanks for making this video.

    This just makes so much sense. I can't wait to try this at the range. I usually start with an 8-iron at the range but start with half swings working up to full swings. This helps me to concentrate on getting good impact before moving to full swings. However, I love the idea of finding the optimum speed with a constant tempo feel. I can see why this works. Can't wait to try it.

      I tried this at the range and found it really hard to swing very slowly. What I did find though was a sweeter swing speed where I tried to swing at the same speed throughout the full swing. To my surprise I was able to drive with no apparent loss of distance with an effortless swing. The ball also has a good height and goes straight more consistently! So I must still be getting enough clubhead speed but it must be coming from the swing physics and not because I am trying to hit it hard.

    Great stuff I’ve been trying to add speed towards impact but the concept of same speed all the way through results in much better well everything 😂 I know like you said I’m getting that extra energy at impact but with my subconscious doing it in stead of me trying to do it I always try to play without technical swing thoughts like we do all sports this really helped me thanks keep it up you never know what tip is going to give someone that ahh ha moment

    Great vid! More than I care to mention, I've mishit tee shots (that I try to kill) that barely went past the women's tee. Then to make sure I don't embarrass my self a second time I take a slow swing (from where the ball lies), and it turns out LONG and straight. Tempo is the glue that holds the swing together.

      @@CogornoGolf I am currently taking lessons with an instructor and there's way more to the sport than I ever thought there was! My biggest issue, right now, is making solid contact and getting that divot in front of the ball. I went out, for the first time in 15 years and scored 109 on 16 holes. It got to dark so we had to quit. There's no where to go but up...lol... I will continue watching your videos. You have a lot of awesome tips, that I'm current trying to grasp.

    Hi Eric,
    The "one speed back and through" is magic. It has improved my ball striking tremendously. Thanks! I use it for half shots of irons and even full shots of hybrids.
    One question though - is this also the same for the driver? The problem with the driver is I have this insane need to hit it 110% all the time. When I pull it out of the bag - it has to go MAXIMUM distance.
    Should I also have this one speed thing for the driver?

    • @CogornoGolf

    Hey Eric I've been thinking lately about the elbows. Starting them close to the body. Mainly using the right elbow as a anchor or Pivot Point? For consistency. I've been curious your thoughts on this

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rickie!
      Really too many variables and micro movements involved to give a simple "yes" or "no" answer.
      There are a lot of way the right arm/elbow can move. Then there are the AMOUNTS that it moves and then the TIMING.....lots of variables :)
      I would have to see a video of your swing to say for sure what exactly YOU need to do with the right arm/elbow. If you dont get it sorted check out www.cogornogolf.com so I can help!

    Most amateur’s tempo is too slow.. the takeaway concept of ‘low & slow’ has done more harm than good.. One topic I haven’t seen much that I would enjoy your take on is the pre-shot routine. I swear by mine and I think it would help a lot players at all levels. Keep up the good work EC 👍

    awesome video eric, im playing a lot of golf since i was laid off from my job, and every round is the same i hit some really good shots but im also hitting some really bad shot which are destroying my rounds im shooting low 80's with three to five doubles a round and i recognize majority of my bad shots are related to tempo, fast and short backswing or getting too quick in the transition. so im looking forward to truly finding my perfect tempo.
