Another great vid, Andy and Billy. Looked a bit parky up on the summit. We love Kirk Fell, as you say, terrific views of Gable on a clear day. We went up from Honister then up from Beck Head - an out and back. Brilliant summit. ATB Brian and Jill 😊😊
It's a grand Hill Bri/Jill...having now gone up the Crags and found a really good clear route I thoroughy enjoyed it one I'll definitely put on my favourite list 😁 Tek care guys have a great New Year ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻
Hi Andy and Billy. You need to slow down pal, I can't keep up with the videos!! As I said, I'm having a binge watch and enjoying them immensely. This one brings back memories. Three of us camped at the NT campsite about 20 years ago one summer. Did this route but without the crags. Started off in shorts and tee shirts in 24 degree sunshine. Near the summit the clag and cloud rolled in. Cut a long story short, within half an hour were in full gortex top to bottom and it was down to around 5 - 10 degrees! Bloody freezing in the middle of summer. Got into the Wasdale Head inn around 4pm and the place was swimming in water where everyone had the same idea, get off the hills and into the pub! Rain coats and wet kit everywhere dripping all over the floor. Gonna watch the latest video at work this evening. Winding down, only 6 weeks to go!! Cheers,Ozzy.
Greetings Andy. Had to watch this video twice....its that good. Great photography Andy, so well thought-out. Despite somewhat difficult terrain you still manage to convey your utter enjoyment of all your walks. Have thoroughly enjoyed your walks throughout the year and can't wait for 2025 adventures. Have a wonderful new year, you and your family, and oh, what a dog. All the best Andy, Tracey and Billy.

I'm lovin those matching red coats Billy n Andy, very nice! Really enjoyed watching. The weather, although you didn't have the views somehow added to the adventure. Looked very dramatic if you know what I mean. It looked fantastic up on Kirk Fell almost like walking on the moon with no earthlings footsteps in the snow Ha. I'm quite a bit older than you Andy so those legs of yours have got many more miles in them yet. Good idea reference the electrolytes. When I look up at a steep hill I open up a SIS energy gel or two ha. Weather looking okay Thursday/Friday so fingers crossed may get up there later this week. Hope you, Tracey and Billy had a smashing Christmas ATB David

Another fantastic video Andy, absolutely great watch,I did Scafell and slight side and got cramp first time it’s happened to me, so went on them electrolytes since and been great so will always have them now I think it’s an age thing 😂 atvb mate take care you billy and Tracey 👍❤️

Another great video Andrew. Keep them coming. I think the cramps are an age thing for me. They started in my early 60's and have been getting worse as I approach my 70th birthday. They kick in at about 7 miles on a tough fell walk. I've started using electrolyte tablets in the past few months and they seem to be working so far. I've also started carrying a bag of salted nuts with me but haven't needed to use them yet. 🤞
Thanks Howard hopefully these electrolytes sort us out Marra...nout like that back in't old days. Keep on keeping on mate I'm 57 hopefully I'll still be smashing them out into my 70s Tek care stay safe ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻
This video and walk takes me back to my own walk up Kirk Fell Crags back in September. Although i made my way up from Ennerdale not Wasdale. There's some great scrambling to be had up those gully's, but i agree with you, it's much better heading up that way rather than coming down, like you Andy, i've done both, although i didn't have the snow and ice to contend with. I hope you, Tracey and Billy all had a lovely Christmas, and all the very best to you for a cracking walking year in 2025. 👣⛰😊

Ey up Marra, Ey up Billy, brilliant. Kirk Fell Crags is the only way to ascend Kirk Fell, so much better than that horrendous steep grassy trudge up the nose. Loved the video Andy, was gonna take the 4hr drive up and climb some mountains but weather looks bleak and I think I gonna wait for better weather. Happy new year to you all.
The one time I ascended Kirk Fell from that corner, I chose the gully on the right, and I can't say I was too impressed with my choices, as it's my most 'interesting' experience on the fells, to date. I didn't know about the gully on the left (no Rock Star to guide me) and the main fence line (presumably the line you end up taking if you took your first 'right' option) always looked too difficult for me. It was mentally and physically challenging, but I made it to the top and was treated to an amazing cloud inversion and a stunning walk over to Great Cable in backlit wispy cloud like I was on another planet. The left gully you took makes me think I'd be fairly comfortable going up there again, so that's good to know. Thanks for all your videos, Andrew. As well as enjoyable to watch, they're an amazing resources due to all the detail you go into. All the best, and keep the adventures coming. 🤩

@@RockStar67 aye, really rubbish, hoping for some of the white stuff over the next few days so I can get in a couple of snow walks before back to work! All the very best to you lot.
That's impressive in those conditions. I've still got Kirkfell on the 'to-do' list. As experienced as I am, I must admit I find those crags quite daunting. Not so much going up but coming down is a bit intimidating. So that was very useful to see the terrain in detail. One day! Your videos always give a person confidence. And a super video as always but a shame the weather closed in on you earlier than forecast. Billy's instinct for the easier option is fabulous to see. Electrolyte tablets are good. I've also found just a packet of dried fruit in a side pocket to nibble on during the day and plenty of fluid helps keep cramp away, or a banana stop! It's either that or we're all knocking on a bit! I agree about the Paramo... back to the old adage of you get what you pay for. And great to see you go over the 2k followers - well deserved, with all your efforts, both with routes and all the thought and effort you put into the videos, inc the drone footage. And I know I pull your leg about the music but it's always appropriate.
Awww thanks as always Irene for the lovely feedback and continued support 😁 It's definitely that feedback that gives us the drive to hopefully get better and better filmmakers I just love the whole process....lol...guess what my favourite bit is?? 🤔 .....editing the music in at the end I love that bit...lol i know some folk ain't keen on music but it's my favourite bit 😁 And I know you think the musics awesome cause ya keep telling me 😁 Let's stop growing older Irene keep them achs and pains away and have a fantastic 2025 🎉 Tek care stay safe ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻 xx
@@RockStar67 That made me chuckle that the music is your favourite bit. I'd have never have guessed! Oh yes I would! And Billy must be enjoying improving his drumming... ;-) All the best to you all for a superb 2025 and too right, about not getting any older... It would be good if my knees agreed with me! I've decided to go backwards at my next birthday, probably in more ways than one!
Hi Andrew, thanks again for this video of Kirk fell, this is of real interest because along with your previous video showing the route up Yewbarrow, this is also on the the to do list for our next trip upto the Lakes, so this is invaluable. Can I ask, if you dont mind, for some more detailed information about the Birketts, Hewits and Nuttals? Until I started watching your channel I was completely ignorant about them, ashamed to say, even though I've been walking the Lakeland fells for years, I now realise just how little I know about the fells.
Hiya David thanks Marra very much... Lol I've had one or two folk in't past say I go over the top with Hill classifications etc ...so feedback like yours is greatly appreciated 😁 I do my best with the details for ya 👍🏻 Tek care stay safe ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻
Did you go up via Baysoar slack? I've been down following the fence line in thick snow before. But one section needed an awkward twist or jump. Something I didn't fancy onto ice. So back over the sumits and back down the nose. To wasdale head inn. And a good pint or 2.😂
No Marra that's a good bit further left to the gully I went up not sure of it's name but it's the best way I've found up 👍🏻Have a fantastic New Year... Tek care stay safe ATVB Andy Tracey and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻
Not the greatest conditions Andy but keeps the fitness up, I've toyed with the idea of Paramo but probably the price scared me off, but if it's going to last for years might be well worth the outlay , another great video Marra atvb to you and yours for 2025 👍
Hiya Marra thanks as always for watching hope you and the family are well and had a great Christmas...i fully recommend the Paramo that red one of mine I've had 10 years I stripped it and reproofed it a few months back now it's as good as Tracey's brand new one 😊 Tek care stay safe Marra and have a fantastic Hogmanay 🎉 ATVB Andy Tracey and your la'al pal Billy Boy ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻

Forgot to say, regarding cramp, I had bad cramp in both thighs coming down the band last year in the dark, took me ages to get down and that made me start using poles. I now take magnesium tablets daily, i still get the cramp but not on that scale. Hope you sort it as its bloody painful ain’t it😖
I asked you the other week about dog coats saying i don’t normally use one on my border collie, well got some shit news, she has arthritis in her spine and i need to keep her dry from now on, so was hoping you could tell me the coat that the rockstar wears, if its good enough for him its good enough for me. Cheers and Kirk fell is looking awesome 👍🐾
sorry Phil to here about the arthritis I've had two dogs before Billy the first sadly had the same problems also my apologies for not getting your comment replied to... Billy's coat is a make called clever paws the sizing's are crazy it's an xxL 60cm base to tail I got it from a local shop in Carlisle called the Range. www.therange.co.uk Hope this info helps ya buddy 😊 I belive all dogs that suffer the harsh mountain winter weather I put my Lad through should have a waterproof jacket 🐕🐶 Thanks for watching Phil very much appreciated... have a great New Year my friend👍🏻 Tek care stay safe ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏🏻

Grand walk that one mate! I was up on Pillar on Christmas day, which was very wet and windy, almost zero visibility. Bloody wonderful day on the hill!
We're getting some rubbish weather at the moment Marra 🙄
Hopefully better start of January 😁 little Red Riding Hood will be getting itchy feet 🐶
Thanks Twa-Dogs for all the great feedback and support over 2024 have a fantastic New Year...

Awww thanks as always Irene for the lovely feedback and continued support 😁
It's definitely that feedback that gives us the drive to hopefully get better and better filmmakers I just love the whole process....lol...guess what my favourite bit is?? 🤔
.....editing the music in at the end I love that bit...lol i know some folk ain't keen on music but it's my favourite bit 😁
And I know you think the musics awesome cause ya keep telling me 😁
Let's stop growing older Irene keep them achs and pains away and have a fantastic 2025 🎉

Lol I've had one or two folk in't past say I go over the top with Hill classifications etc ...so feedback like yours is greatly appreciated 😁
I do my best with the details for ya 👍🏻

Wishing you, Tracy and Billy the Rockstar a happy and prosperous New Year
Did you go up via Baysoar slack? I've been down following the fence line in thick snow before. But one section needed an awkward twist or jump. Something I didn't fancy onto ice. So back over the sumits and back down the nose. To wasdale head inn. And a good pint or 2.😂
No Marra that's a good bit further left to the gully I went up not sure of it's name but it's the best way I've found up 👍🏻Have a fantastic New Year...

Not the greatest conditions Andy but keeps the fitness up, I've toyed with the idea of Paramo but probably the price scared me off, but if it's going to last for years might be well worth the outlay , another great video Marra atvb to you and yours for 2025 👍
Hiya Marra thanks as always for watching hope you and the family are well and had a great Christmas...i fully recommend the Paramo that red one of mine I've had 10 years I stripped it and reproofed it a few months back now it's as good as Tracey's brand new one 😊
Tek care stay safe Marra and have a fantastic Hogmanay 🎉

Keep up the good work👍
