I walked this route a few years ago and it was my best day that I've ever had in the Lake District. I was lucky that I had great weather, clear and sunny but this video is truly beautiful. It looks amazing on film but obviously would have been many more times better to actually be there on that day. Alex, your films are always worth watching not only for the fantastic photography but also for your great joy and appreciation for the surroundings. This is definitely one of your very best. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful 2025.
@@alanhitchings5841 there’s something very special about Crinkle Crags and Bowfell isn’t there! Can’t beat it on a clear day. Thank you so much Alan, really appreciate the kind words, it means a lot. Hope you have a fantastic 2025 too 😊 cheers!
Wow, wow and wow. We have been following you for a few months now. This was the lit candle on top of the cake so far. Your passion for the hills shows from the start of every vid, awesome. Then from describing the route to ensuring all are suitably equipped, proactive thinking. Thankyou and all the best for 2025 to you and yours.
Ahhh thank you so much!! Really appreciate your kind words, it means a lot! Glad you’re enjoying the videos and happy new year!! 😊
Absolutely stunning, awesome - thank you Alex for bringing those views to us 👍🏻
Thank you so much! 😊
Amazing views, alex i had tears in my eyes watching this ...just wow 👌
So glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Awesome Alex, temperature inversions are brilliant despite the cold 🥶 glad you are wearing gloves at the end 😂 you captured some wonderful views
Thank you very much 😊 all the excitement made me forget how cold my hands actually were 😂
One of those classic magical Lake District days high above the clouds!
Nothing beats it!! 😊
great to see you capture what i think is the biggest thrill to hiking , after 4 decades ive lost count of the number of walks i thought were to be ok only to be blown away . i did this route on a perfect weather day in my top 3 so nearly didnt click on the vid only to be blown away again the mountains just keep on giving great video
Thank you so much! Even when it’s clagged out it’ll always be a privilege to be out hiking in the mountains but when you get lucky on a day like this it makes it all the more special doesn’t it!! Can’t beat it up there on a clear day, the Lakes at its finest, cheers! 😊
your best video yet - mainstream terrestrial TV would be foolish not to sign you up..!
I've done your route in both directions in summer and extreme winter conditions. it's a classic!
Thank you so much!! That’s extremely kind of you, really appreciate it 😊 Hard to beat that route isn’t it!
So beautiful! I can't believe I lived in Lancaster for 2.5 years and never hiked these paths. Major regret, but thankfully there's you showing how it is. I could see some of these peaks from my flat. It looked so beautiful when they were covered in snow, but it only happens a couple of times in the winter. And the sea of clouds looks amazing, they happen very frequently in the coastal mountain ranges, of the Atlantic Forest, Southern Brazil. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! Hopefully you’ll get back up here one day and get a Lake District hike in 😊 Southern Brazil sounds awesome! Cheers
Incredible. The harder you work, the luckier you get. Congratulations. Epic
So true!! Thank you 😊
Incredible, a day to remember forever.
Definitely won’t be forgetting this one!
Amazing video. I can't wait until I get myself in the lakes. ❤
Thank you mate! You’ll love it 😊
Alex I'm so glad I've found your channel, what an amazing film! I decided a year ago that I was going to re-bag all of the Wainwrights again before my 60th birthday (I've got another 7 years) and because my husband doesnt have as much leave as me I'm making plans to go and do some solo hikes. I've been a trail runner for a long time, but was worried about solo hikes for some reason - seeing the way you plan and complete them, and the kit you've taken, makes me feel so much more confident that I can achieve this. Keep posting your amazing videos!
Thank you so much Kim, that was such a lovely comment to read!! So glad this video makes you feel a bit more confident for solo hikes, I guess the more you prepare before hand then there’s less to worry about on the actual day and you can focus on the hike itself and the beautiful views along the way 😊 LOVE that you’re starting the Wainwrights from scratch, I did the same a couple years ago and it was the best thing I did, takes you to all corners of the national park and you find some real beauty spots along the way! Hope you have the best time bagging all 214 and enjoy every single one 😊 thank you
Absolutely loved this video , so nice to see you smiling away whilst holding the camera we could tell you were really enjoying this walk , and those drone shots wow amazing, happy new year

That was epically beautiful Alex! Wow…. I would have lingered up there until dark for sure. Your drone footage was remarkable. The best cloud inversion I have seen. You are absolutely blessed to have all this around you! Fantastic video, and as you say, you can never tell for sure how the weather will actually turn out on the tops. The icy tops were amazing sparkling in the sun. Your excitement was infectious! I hope you had a great Christmas and here’s to many more amazing outdoor adventures in 2025!
@@gregcoleman7328 thank you so much Greg!! I wish I’d taken my tent up with me to get even more time up there, how epic would that have been! Absolutely beautiful Alex 😍 loved it!! Fog bow and spector lucky you and us, thank you for taking us 😊
Just caught up on your latest, epic day out, thanks for filming and sharing. Great quality, looked amazing on film, so must have been epic live. Really impressed by your consideration of others ref your drone. Top bloke!
Beyond stunning. You look like you are in heaven!
Ive walked this route many times, im in my 50's and not as fit these days so blisco, crinkles, and bow fell would have been enough for me in the winter, summer a different story, i would either drop down to ore gap and either turn right down to angle tarn and descend rossett ghyll, or go straight ahead at ore gap onto esk pike then esk hause before passing angle tarn, it all depends on what energy i had left on the day 😅
Yes you did it justice well done
@@mawebb88 thank you! 😊
very nice , did you notice your brocken spectre in the fog bow at 11.49
When was this? Awesome footage.
It was 11th December I think. Thank you 😊
That is absolutely so special just amazing. Was that a brocken spectre?
I am doing this as a guided walk in March, just Pike O'Blisco nothing else. Gosh, it just shows how beautiful this country is. Thank you.
@@Muddipaws1308 thank you! 😊 yes it was a brocken spectre, good spot! Couldn’t believe how lucky I got seeing one. Hope you have a great time on Pike O’blisco and fingers crossed you get some great views, one of my favourite mountains in the Lakes! Cheers 😊
@alexcripps.outdoors just been speaking to a friend and sent her the link to your video. You MUST watch this 😊
