In case anyone is wondering what happened directly after the sting 🐝- “beep beep beep mother beep son of a beep beep beep beep beep beep beep…..beep beep beep I can’t see!” Or something similar! Lol 😂
I am delighted to see this post. I have the start of a nest in the doorway that I need to move. Mine also has ridges and door seals that would prevent the jar method from working. I use the jar method for catching individuals that end up in the house. Thanks for making this post. Too many people have been guided by media to fear mongering unnecessary.
I also use a jar and stiff piece of paper to remove wasps that inadvertently enter the house. Most of the time, the nests are on a flat surface, and it's not a problem to collect the nest and all the wasps. I trying to come up with a method to do the collection on a non-smooth surface like a tree limb. Charles
Wasps are underappreciated animals, they do a lot for us and honestly I cant blame them for their aggression as its actually defensive behavior. That hasn't stopped me from destroying a few nests, but anything that isnt directly in a walkway isnt a problem so I just leave them be.
If possible, I try to work around their nests or move them like that nest. They are great control for caterpillars, even tent caterpillars that are common on trees here. Charles
@@goliadfarms7029 Yeah I leave the ones that are out of the way alone, i dont have the patience to move every wasp nest but i have done it before. They are really interesting to watch, I think they are beautiful personally.
@@Exquailibur Yes, wasps, both social and solitary, are interesting. Recently, Brachygastra mellifica, the honey wasp, has reached Goliad County. I haven't seen any on our farm but hope to soon. Charles
That was a great video. Tell about all your plants!!
The plants in the greenhouses? If so, we'll do a video about them.

I did utter a mild statement that Susie edited out of the video to protect sensitive ears.
Charles
1:44 I'm glad I wasn't the only one that laughed hysterically. Cuts to a few weeks later... "well we made a new shed" 😂
You and Susie and her friends. She showed them the video before she did some editing. I'm glad to have introduced some mirth.
Charles
You are one of the kindest humans and they are the luckiest wasps ever 😁
Thank you. The wasps seem content in their new location.

Can't decide if you need to be committed. But I admire you and your principles! Great video!
Susie is building an evidence file just in case.
Charles
You are a good man. Can you do a sump underwater video. Love seeing all the different fish. It’s amazing.
Thank you. Yes, we can do a sump video as soon as Carl trains Susie on the equipment and techniques. They tell me that is soon. We'll see.
Charles
I admire your dedication to preserve life. I'm highly allegoric to bees and wasps. Doing this would be a death sentence for me.
I understand. Fortunately, I'm not allergic to wasp, bee, or ant stings.
Charles
Unless they are above a doorway, I leave them alone. Free pest control around the yard.
They are important predators on caterpillars that would otherwise strip the leaves from our trees.
Charles
oh my.
It was an adventure. That was the first time I've ever had problems relocating a wasp nest.

@@goliadfarms7029 Isnt that a tropical species? Climate change really is causing more species to migrate north isnt it.
I get it
Thank you. Some don't, but I'm glad some do.

I can't believe Fred stung you on the eye !
LOL I yelled "Dang it Freddddd!!"
It was actually Fredette since only the female wasps can sting.
Charles
Yes, Fredette (male wasps can't sting) got me in the corner of the eye. It hurt for a while but mostly itched the next day.

Having a heart for life is a good thing
Growing up on a farm, I did my share of slaughtering livestock. It's probably good karma to save as many lives as I can now.
Charles
Sorry about your stinging. I hope to see underwater videos sometime.
Thank you. The sting barely hurt, mostly itching the next day. I'm fortunate to not be allergic to wasp, bee, and ant stings.
Charles
Good for Susie gathering evidence to help justify being institutionalized. 😂
She's been working diligently at compiling evidence. My only hope is a nature-loving judge.
Charles
😂
Susie and her friends got a big laugh out of it.
Charles
Fish breeding legend , wasp legend..... eh not so much🙈😂🤣
Wait until I show you the wasp colony that I've tamed. Video coming soon.
