    Got a used CAAD12 105 Disc as my first road bike 3 years ago. Since then I upgraded the wheelset, that's it. I've also tried a few newer bikes and haven't seen a reason to upgrade. This truly is an amazing bike even today. If you can find a good condition used CAAD12, just buy it. You won't find better bang for buck.

    The Caad's are iconic aluminum bikes. Fantastic bike.

    Have a Caad12 Ultegra Rim Brake sz 52. Swapped the Mavic Askiums for Hunt Race Aero Alloys, tried Schwalbe 28's but they rubbed the calipers, back to GP5000's with lightweight tubes. Lighter seatpost, saddle, and handlebar and it's down to 15lbs 2oz. All for under $2,000.

      Ozzy will I notice a difference in ride quality between my 2012 supersix evo hi mod and the card 12 disc

    • @Cortes19882012
      @Cortes19882012 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes a huge difference! Even though CAAD12 is Alloy, it rides better and it’s lighter than many carbon bikes out there. If you plan on upgrading from Evo to CAAD12 Disc go for it. You can’t go wrong with either one.

    Just purchased the CAADX Ultegra in that same deep purple. Pick it up tomorrow. Pretty stoked.

      @@moi7748 I love it, especially in the sun. It is pretty stunning. Later today (hopefully) I will try to get some pictures of it outside.

    I've got the CAADX Ultegra alternative... It's my bikepacking bike. Rotor oval chainrings (52/36 and 11-32), CBear bottom bracket, ceramicspeed OSPW and Prime RR50 disc clinchers with 700-28 Michelin Endurance tires. Great highway bike, gets me through Canadian Rockies and Cascades nicely and gets me going right fast on the prairies! I do have a SuperSix soo the CAAD series was an automatic look for me... 😁😁😁

  • @owenchuarbx

    I've tried both this and the Supersix Evo at my local Cannondale Dealer. Both felt agile and they feel spot on.
    The Size 54 frame suits to my size and it worked out for me. Will plan to buy it in the near future.

      How tall are you? I’m not sure about the size since each and every bike’s sizes are different. I’m considering both 52 and 54 for the CAAD12

    What about that colour though??? After some research, some love it, some hate it and I have been searching for months now but no bike shop seems to stock the deep purple... Maybe a good reason for that???

    • @paulstephens1513

      The TROLL. Well good question; there are possible instances of the big 'C' not being keen on honouring the warranty when bikes have developed cracks and the owner has used the bike on a static trainer. For more info search the interwebs. Personally i would like some deffinative words from them of warranty inclusions / exclusions.

    will a 28mm tire fit on the CAAD12 size 44?

    • @tredz
      @tredz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, It should fit fine, you probably wouldn't want to go much wider if you're running rim brakes though.

  • @etobiCRACKscorpions

    What clearance of 28c tyre? I don't know a single person who has been able to fit a 28c on the rear without rubbing.

    Sizing Help:
    I'm 178 cm (5ft10") with 83 cm (32,5) inseam. Saddle height is at 73 cm from BB. It' s my first real road bike
    Size 54 or 52?

    • @tredz
      @tredz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, If you're looking at a CAAD 12/13 your height would put you comfortably on a 54, the 52 may be a little small for you. If you're looking at any other models I'd suggest checking the sizing for that model, check out www.tredz.co.uk and we've usually got specific sizing charts for each model.

    What is aluminium?

    • @zoso73
      @zoso73 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Americans spell it wrong. Sir Humphry Davy made a bit of a mess of naming this new element, at first spelling it alumium (this was in 1807) then changing it to aluminum, and finally settling on aluminium in 1812. His classically educated scientific colleagues preferred aluminium right from the start, because it had more of a classical ring, and chimed harmoniously with many other elements whose names ended in -ium, like potassium, sodium, and magnesium, all of which had been named by Davy.

      Heavy and slow ? Sorry but I disagree. I have Mavic Wheels on my CAAD12 and I absolutely love them! Light, smooth and fast! Never had any flats on my long rides. Great for climbing as well.

    • @BikeLife154
      @BikeLife154 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You obviously have never experienced a really good wheelset! I love the Caad 12 itself but quality wheels make it come alive!

    • @Cortes19882012
      @Cortes19882012 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I obviously have. From the Metron 40’s to Cosmic Pro Carbon and many more. Besides Vision, Mavic is one of the best wheels you can ever have on The CAAD12 or even The Evo.

    • @raycoxphoto
      @raycoxphoto 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I changed the wheels and upped the ratio to a 53/39 spider ring, nows its as fast as my EVO HiMOd :)
