    Great motherboard, the Taichi Z790 is surely the choice for a high end PC. Love the design too.

      @@PCCrazyDario Hi thanks for the video,
      Is it stable and does XMP work without issues with RAM from their QVL list? Im eyeballing this board my self or MSI Z790 Carbon dont know which one to get...(pick any board = not an answer i seek lol) All i care is for rock solid stability and reliability and that XMP works with their RAM on their QVL List. Your thoughts on Asrock mid/high end? Thanks in advance.

    • @PCCrazyDario
      @PCCrazyDario  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lawshadow2011 Hmmm, here is the honest truth. All Z790 have better XMP stability with DDR5. Z690 were a lucky draw to be honest and I was using Z690 Tiachi which did work, but on occasions. Now this Z790 Taichi s sweet and I literally didn't have any issues with XMP. Z790, specifically Carbon boards are sick in every term. If the RAMs are in the QVL list, you won't have any issues. Only those RAM kits that aren't in that list will act up if you are unlucky so to say. For my personal rigs, I use MSI boards. And they are all based on DDR4 because I still don't trust 100% DDR5. But if you really want DDR5, you can go either with those two board, Tiachi or Carbon. Between those two, choose from the brand you like personally the most. That is sometimes how I do it.

      @@PCCrazyDario Thank you for your honest reply very much appreciated i made the order for the Asrock Z790 Taichi and yes i ordered also the QVL listed G-Skill DDR5 6800mhz (Hynix A-die) thanks again.

    Do you recommend to buy this motherboard for i9-12900K or for i9-13900K?

      Yeah, definitely recommended

    I may be wrong, but I believe that there is a fan in the IO box which is used to actively cool the VRMs.

    I want to set up a new rig with an i7-13700K and a 4070ti or 7800xt. I currently have a Phanteks 719, but will switch to NV7. Now I'm looking for a motherboard and have made a narrow selection.
    This one and the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero. I have 4 NVMe, 4 SSD, would like to overclock the CPU (moderately), and listen to a lot of music on the PC (so good sound chip, without having to buy a dedicated sound card again). And I like the BLING BLING ;). Can you recommend one of the two to me, or is there another?

      Unless I connect them to a fan beneath the I/O cover, that would be some heavy modifications. :P Yeah man, looks are non-questionable with Taichi boards.

    Why would anyone say the EVGA Z790 Kingpin is a better package? In comparion, the Kingpin lacks: Thunderbolt, a 3rd PCI-e slot, 2 DIMM slots, a 4th M.2 slot, 3 power phases, ... However, it does offer the 4 digit Post LED which might help debugging and proofing the nearly complete system build. The Taichi's 2 digit LED might be perfectly adequate too. The Taichi clearly wins with the visuals in my opinion.

    Also been eyeing the z790 riptide for a mid-tower build since this is EATX. Let's not forget about Sonic as well. Gotta go fast! I'll probably end up waiting for 14th gen which uses a completely different socket. Thanks Intel!

    Can you let me know if the motherboard exhibits any coil whine? Either under load or maybe a faint buzzing which modulates in the background with system activity and present most if not all the time (can be caused by c-states).
    Can maybe someone run Aida64 copy memory test and latency/ Prime95, Cinebench r23 to see if any of those induce coil whine?
    I have Gigabyte Z790 Master, which is a fabulous board but has coil whine as described and i read that Asus Maximus Hero is the same... so how is it with Taichi?
    Many thanks

    • @PCCrazyDario
      @PCCrazyDario  ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know, all coil whine I have heard recently was from the GPUs, and not from the motherboards.

    Can someone recommend an XMP compatible memory kit that will run 4 sticks on this? I want to do 128 GB (heavy content creation/game development) but I'm worried about it not posting if I have XMP enabled on all 4
    The asrock forums are pretty empty too

    • @PCCrazyDario

      I tried some logical explanation like 21st model of Taichi or something like that but it also might be 20th anniversary of ASRock, but that doesn't collide. So I tried also researching a bit... Still nothing specific. :/

      @@PCCrazyDario OK thanks but I don't think there are as many models of Taichi produced by ASRock... (First was the Z170 I think) The 20th birthday should be a good clue though 🕵️

      @@maxoo._ Yeah, I don't think 20 models came out, unless you take ALL Taichi models so far. But still even if you take AMD and Intel boards, I don't think they produced 21 different Taichi models. Might be 20th birthday.
