I find it SO interesting that the biggest critique I've heard of the movie is essentially "we needed more of THIS".
They KNEW what we all wanted and how to tell this story, but man that time restriction of 90 mins for younger audiences so clearly held them back. Still my new favorite movie tho haha!

Both Marinette and Adrien do have different actors for the singing parts. Lou, Marinette's singing voice, is the same one who sings in the musical specials in the French dub as well as with the original songs/theme song. As for Adrien's singing voice, I believe Bryce was was given the option to sing, but declined since he can't sing 😂. Drew Ryan as Adrien's singing voice was a pretty good choice in terms of matching Adrien's original voice cadence. Lou's voice was a pretty big cause of the whiplash since her and Cristina's voices are so different. I do wish we got the chance to hear Cristina and Bryce singing in the movie.
I’m actually really disappointed that Christian didn’t sing because she actually doos covers of songs and they are really pretty! I hope someday she does docovers of the songs from this movie.
The scene where Adrien shows Marinette his picture of him and his mother was actually a deleted scene, the full version is on TH-cam and it's actually sweet. I was once a huge fan of Miraculous, but sometime before the pandemic, I rage quit because I felt like it was never going to end and the resets were SO STUPID. But when heard of this movie and saw it, it brought me hope. It brought me joy. This... was what I WANTED FROM THE SERIES. Is it flawed? Yes. But I can see through all that and still enjoy it! Definitely one of 2023's BEST ANIMATED MOVIES, alongside Across the Spider-verse and the Super Mario Bros. Movie!
I personally want that scene in the movie, it would've been a decent Aridenette moment!
Stronger together and the dancing and everything was one of the best parts of the movie, with this animation too it was stunning

if you watched the actual show (or if you are watching it rn) you could make an entire video dissecting the love square (the dynamics, ship names, why its a good/bad ship, etc) and even tell us which one is your favourite. or you could just make another video about miraculous cause ive been dying for more miraculous content in my life
it's probably an unpopular opinion, but the music was one of my favorite parts of the movie! It's doesn't work like a typical musical and it's based on a non-musical franchise, so I understand why so many disliked it. But like you touched on, I just find them to be well-written and fun songs! I think they add to the emotion and energy really well and the instrumentation gives them a super pretty and elegant sound.
Oh, and idk strangely the voice change doesn't bother me at all! I actually prefer Lou's singing voice to Cristina's xD
It was weird that so many people disliked it, though, since we already knew when they announced the movie that it would be a musical (the producers said so back in 2018)

As someone who gave up watching the show midway through S2 I thoroughly enjoyed the movie especially after learning all the stuff that went down plot wise along with researching how the creator reacted/reacts to constructive criticism.
I agree that Cat noir is better than Adrien and how the movie shouldve shown more of Adrien and Gabriel
Something I find wrong was that it doesnt seem THAT special as The names Of the ladybug earring holders and the black cat ring WAS originally Lady and Cat noir and that Alya Just finds out her name and she finds pictures which would have been impossible for her.Also, How the butterfly miraculous was always meant for evil AND Cat noir and Adrien's music choice-

I agree about the Butterfly miraculous and noticed it when I was watching. I assumed they did so to save time and not have to explain how complex it really is. The oversimplification is a bit sad tho

Okay what I don’t like is there is a musical number every 13 minutes and I think her voice matures when she sings but the art style is good and storytelling is all right.

my siblings and I thought that the montage was basically the like series bc you can see some of the villain such as bubbler and a few others so I think the reason it was a montage was so I wasn't repetitive but I could be wrong
Personally, i think if this movei was a 2 parter it would have been a much, much better movie
Hey, I don't know if you know this or not but Morgan Berry the voice actress who voiced Melissa in Mystreet, also voices a villain in Miraculous I don't remember the season but the episode name is desperada (I'm pretty sure I spelt it wrong but close enough)

Although it did take me 3hrs to watch, as a scene would come up where I cringed so hard at Marinette that I would need a minute to calm tf down, but even with those I still liked the movie alot!

Well, I more or less agree with everything you said (and you'll find me regurgitating a lot of it). With regards to the Gabriel/Adrien dynamic, it's true that subtlety is not your friend in a 90-minute runtime and you really do need to be more concise in your message. Still, there ARE glints of the psychology behind the characters, peeking through the cracks. If you look closely enough, you can see that Adrien and Gabriel are essentially in the same boat, in that they've both been isolated by their grief. I saw one review of the movie which described Adrien as just kind of "sleepwalking through life", in the wake of Emilie's death (which is not an unfair assessment), and in his own way, Gabriel was doing very much the same thing. The only difference is that Adrien came to the realization that he couldn't get through this alone, so he kept reaching out to Gabriel for help, only to not get it. But then the Miraculous came his way, along with Ladybug, and THAT kind of became his support system (even if it WAS largely a distraction).
On the other hand, we see Gabriel doing what he's doing. But even though it's not explicitly stated, I believe he'd convinced himself that he was doing this as much for Adrien's benefit as his own. And you can kind of see that in how this version of Gabriel chooses his targets more carefully. Sure, the first guy was an innocent victim, but that's because it was a test run, more than anything, and Gabriel wasn't fully in control of the process. Once he knew the power worked, though, I believe there's a reason he only chose criminals to do his bidding, after that. Because what the hell...criminals aren't nice people anyway, right? So if anything happened to them or they got hurt, he wouldn't have to feel bad about it. Granted, that hardly makes anything he did a "victimless crime" because he was still endangering the lives of THOUSANDS of people. But I believe that, in HIS mind, this was the one frayed thread still tethering him to his humanity, in the vain hope that, when it was all said and done, he could take SOME comfort in the knowledge that he wouldn't have turned into a COMPLETE monster and could still go back to being the husband and father that he was.
But then, we get the scene between Gabriel and Adrien, where Adrien absolutely lays into him, because he'd just gotten his heart broken, and that was the last straw, and all this frustration he'd been carrying around had finally reached a boiling point. So when THAT happened, suddenly Gabriel saw EVERYTHING just slipping away, and it was all too much. Hence, why he turned the power on himself, because at that point, he was simply THAT desperate. Now, would a couple more scenes with Gabriel have helped to clarify his descent into this mindset? Yes. Absolutely. But much like the "Adrienette" moments, I think they were hoping that the montage would be enough to illustrate it.
Though, apparently not, since the general consensus seems to be that, on the "Adrienette" side of things, that aspect would have benefit from a little more time in the oven as well, and that's a perfectly valid perspective to take. That being said, I CAN kind of see why they pulled back on that a little bit, because it jived more with the story the movie was trying to tell. Just like there was a reason the identity reveal was saved for the very end, because if Marinette and Adrien had found out beforehand, it would have led to a completely different climax. After all, if Marinette and Adrien were on the same page, odds are, they would have easily defeated Gabriel, powered-up or not. But while I'm certain the audience would have found that much more cathartic, the thing is that super hero movies generally see the heroes in a situation which purposely puts them at a disadvantage for the final battle, and this was it. Because Marinette and Adrien had fallen out of sync, it allowed Gabriel to gain the upper hand (we can only hope that doesn't become an ongoing thing later on, with any sequels, because let's face it...that would be bad🤞).
At least, that's just my thinking on it.

seeing all of the directions the movie could have made in the last days has just left me some frustated for MORE, like the movie should had at least an extra half hour just so it could flesh out Marinette instead of FOUR SONGS about the same thing and the scene that was taken out and just used a little in the montage makes me wanna pull my hair cuz it would just makes Marinette's crush on adrien a lot more solid also some ideas were left all baked, like in one intro that wasn't used Marinette moves from China to Paris cuz she got into an art school which explain why in the song Reaching Out she sings: "I wish to call Paris home" LIKE GOD THIS MOVIE JUST MAKES ME FRUSTATED WITH ALL OF IT'S MISSED POTENCIAL

Never watched the show but watched tons of entertaining reviews of people ripping it apart. And yeah the show is a damn mess. The more "unique" feature of the show is the love square which as you said sounds cute on paper but my god I could not bare to watch the stupid will they won't they for 5. 5 entire seasons. All I know from the show is the reviews of it, and what I got was, Marinette is a stalker who is obsessed with this poor teenage boy, said teenage boy lives a miserable life being objectified by all the romantic rivals Marinette gets rid of throughout the show because it's "romantic", the side characters barely matter, and the only one who does (Chloe) gets vilified and deemed as a forever evil entity (she is 14).
My god. Miraculous is a mess. So I watched the movie. And... gonna be honest I really liked it. It's trashy fun. It's a lighthearted and very sweet. Gone are the stalker tendencies, gone are the continuous advances after the girl said no, replaced with genuinely charming banter and building of a friendship between both identities at the same time (Adrien + Marinette, Ladybug + Chat Noir). I truly believe the only reason people find this movie so good or better than the show is because... sadly this movie did what the show didn't in 5 seasons. The bare f**king minimum. I don't blame the movie for being rushed or having very bare bone fleshing out of characters, they did have to cram 5 seasons into an hour and 40 min.
There are things the movie could have done better. Honestly the music was fine but not everything needs to be a musical. Coming as someone who loves musicals, this should not have been one. The show itself isn't. It could have been 10 - 15 min longer. Why did we need so many scenes with Marinette's parents. She gets a lot of scenes with them for some reason but the one character who NEEDED scenes with his parent barely gets 2. Like come on. Give those min of screentime to Adrien and Gabriel Agreste instead. And then use the rest of those min to flesh out the romance of the characters a little more. Especially when they're "off mask" (Why the hell would Marinette 'choose' Adrien, the guy she's barely friends with, over Cat Noir, who she has been through so much with and saved her life so many times)
But you know what. It's fine. It's a perfectly fine movie. Nothing too wrong about it, it's a movie to truly turn your brain off and enjoy with popcorn. Some scenes are genuinely so charming. Some of the jokes are quite funny, the action scenes are an absolute delight. I have to say my favorite scene in the entire movie was when the two protags just stopped for a second to have some fun and play fight. I don't know why but my god that was so cute. Like for once you can see a little bit past these fearsome powerful heroes and realize the teenagers they are inside. Who just stop for a second after their constant lives of danger, to have wholesome fun with each other. I loved that.
