As an Ohioan, I can tell you it’s so worth it. I have been to Kings Island even worked there been there countless times. I’ve been to Cedar Point last summer with me mom and cousin. I plan on going again this year. I rode every ride at Kings Island. My favorite ride there is The Beast, least favorite is Firehawk, although it wasn’t too bad. I’m curious what new rollercoaster they are going to build in place of it as it got tested down last Haunt (Halloween). At Cedar Point I sadly did not get the chance to ride the new roller coaster or Maverick that’s fine though. I live in Cincinnati, in West Chester about 15 min away from Kings Island. I also plan to work there again. I’m 15 almost 16. So, yea. If you made it this far from my rant. Thanks!
Wow, small world, I also live in West Chester (although I'm getting ready to move over to Liberty Township here shortly), and I also used to work at Kings Island years ago. From my understanding, Firehawk's replacement is rumored to be a B&M giga coaster (like Fury 325 at Carowinds) opening in 2020.

Coast X It doesn't though. Pheonix does. RMC has rubbish restraints that kill airtime, and thus removing any redeeming qualities from their coasters.

Actually, phoenix has good air time. Way better than steel vengeance but, it doesn’t have more. It has maybe 10 seconds at best. For RMC restraints, I get your point but they are not the worst. you still get very good air time.

I go to Cedar Point 2 times a year. I went opening day this year. The Top Thrill had THREE rollbacks that I witnessed.

Frankie Schultz it’s just my opinion I’ve ridden it plenty of times I just don’t get it. It’s hyped to death. People even say it’s better than Steel Vengeance, Millennium Force and Dragster which is insane to me. Steel Vengeance literally does everything maverick does but better, better inversions, better airtime, better drop.

I live in Indiana so it’s a two hour drive from Kings Island and when we go to visit my dad’s family in Toledo we go to Cedar point for the highlight of the trip.

I've been to Kings Island several times in my life. I've always had a fear of rollercoasters but my brother LOVES the Diamondback and the Banshee. I haven't been there since 8th grade (I'm in 10th currently), I hope to go back there someday!

Ohio has some beautiful spots, but so don't most states, l think Cedar Point is probably the most marketable thing in the state to youth that travel.
Ohio is literally one of the most least mentioned states out of any states being stuck between the northeast and the Midwest and not having a defined region in the US. Just hearing them saying the name Ohio makes me fell important :)
@Patriotis, yeah, but we have only a couple things people would want to travel for. Like the Arnold Classic is this weekend, rock and roll and football hall of fame. When l go to Cedar Point l will see cars from many states away coming here. Most states have rolling hills and gorges like Hocking Hills in their state or close by.
You don't have to add "the" to every ride name. They only one where that is appropriate is The Beast as that is the rides official name.
I live 20 minutes from King’s Island, and the Diamondback, Banshee, and Beast are so epic. Don’t ride the Vortex though. It permanently rearranged the lobes of my brain.

Derek White my home park is Canada’s Wonderland. Have two great rides, soon to be three; but nothing touches cedar point. It’s been on my bucket list for over a decade! I really hope people that live around there cherish that park, it’s one of a kind.

SoViEt UnIoN I actually like The Beast, the ride at night is amazing and the roughness doesn’t bother me. It’s a wooden coaster from 1979, so of course it’s bumpy but luckily it’s not as bad as Vortex.
Beast is a good one, but my favorite roller coaster in the park is banshee or diamondback lol its hard to choose
Have you ever seen the documentary on it? It was really pushing the limits at that time and was by leaps and bounds the largest, crazy coaster at that time.
Grew up about 30 minutes from Cedar Point. That place was the babysitter for my brother and I during summer. So many memories!

Unless your head is made of steal don’t ride the vortex. I’m an Ohioan and the vortex makes me nauseous and the head pads on the seats are rock solid so all the kinky inversions and loops will give you a headache and sick

I live 20 minutes from Kings Island XD. The Diamond Back, Racers, Banshee, and The Beast are my favorites there. The worst ride is probably the Vortex because it whips you around and gives you a really bad headache.
I haven't been to Kings Island in 25 years....it was smooth then - Who broke Vortex to where it had to be retired? BTW, I live in Mason just haven't felt the urge to go to Kings Island

Kings island is my home park. As a frequent visitor and a coaster junkie, I will say that if you have any neck or back issues, do not ride Vortex. It’s restraints come up to the chin and really hurt your body when you go through a loop or a corkscrew. The ride is extremely jerky, and not in a good way like the Beast. It’s tight loops and inversions really don’t mix well with the jerkiness this ride has. If you really want to ride a good coaster with inversions and a smooth ride, take a trip over to Banshee. It’s smooth and it really packs a punch. The only downside to it is the lap bar. Once you go down that first lift hill, it presses very hard into your hips.

I've ridden all of these. Best from CP is (my opinion) Steel Vengeance. Best from KI is the Beast. Great rides left off this video; CP: Magnum, first over 200ft. Maverick, just an awesome ride KI: Mystic Timbers, best woody in Ohio other than the Beast. The Racer: made famous by the Brady Bunch.

Watching this, living in Ohio 2 hrs away from CP, 2020 is the first year I haven’t been to cedar point in 6 years. Started going when I was 9 on and off.

My childhood. Being from Michigan cedar point is only 1.5 hours away and it's been a staple in growing up. Constant field trips, family trips you name it. It is literally the best theme park for rollercoaster goers in the world. Prior to the introduction of the millennium force, it was the magnum. That thing was so scary to be growing up.
I'm from Ohio (Dayton, currently I live in SW Florida now) and I've been to both growing up. I've thrown up on Mantis and I've had my brains scramble on Vortex n Flight of Fear. I loved both parks.

Banshee is by far my favorite King's Island ride. And I thought I'd be afraid of it two years ago... Boy was I wrong.
I’ve ridden about half of these, and they are very fun! Never be afraid to ride them.
