Those bolts on the big cap that broke, I'm guessing those bolts got mixed up with a couple others somewhere else. At least the bolt yielded rather than damaging threads in the head! I've got a 2010 Evo X with a built motor that locked up on my 3rd day of ownership, so I'll be on this journey soon enough!
I know this was 8 months ago… And Maybe I need my eyes checked.. But did you install the thrust washers with the grooved side facing the block? The service manual says to install with grooved side facing crankshaft counter weight. I’m asking because this out of 4 other people on TH-cam, only one person has done it like the manual states lol.
if you want to work on another one, ive got an evo x and a ralliart sitting collecting dust - I cant find a mechanic where i live that wants to work on it and after seeing this... thought id reach out and see if there was a chance I could talk ya into helping me out - i lifted the head on my 700hp build that was similar to this and the X has the ralliarts stock engine in it atm - LMK if you want to come back to Vermillion sometime and Id love to meet ya, the car, and maybe talk some more about paying you to finish my project up if interested - can thank Lisa G. for introducing me to your channel - thanks for the content either way
honestly wouldnt mind doing that at this point - I can probably throw it on a trailer and bring it down - any interest in the ralliart as partial payment? I tore threads out of the block when the head lifted but the sleeves are still good on the built block - im not well versed enough to know if it would be worth having a machine shop drop some inserted threads in and try pushing the original block back into the evo - the ralliart is all stock with a bad trans - still got the rear end and if the original evo block is salvageable, the currently running ralliart one would go with it :D been a long time since ive had her going though and if your serious, we should connect soon - was gonna take it a couple states away last year but then baby happened @@bschoenborn
Omg!!!! Bout time brutha!!!! Brandon are you going to be coming to cali with panzer when tanner and remmy come down here? Lmk asap brutha. I want to do some things to the wrx if so.
How do you decide what oil clearance you want if its not stock engine for a subaru what factors do you consider and is there anything basic for that ?!
Good question! Clearance depends on a few factors... 2 of which are based on the oil you are running and how much power you are looking for. I run 20W-50 in the built motors so I can get away with being a bit looser than normal. Too tight and it gets very hot, oil temps rise, and you risk pre-mature bearing failure... obviously if its too loose, you can have a multitude of other issues including a knock so you just have to find that safe middle ground. Go within the specs and play around with it. Takes some time to figure out what works best for you. If you plan on running 20W-50 and pushing around the same power, I would just run the specs I do. They've been proven all around haha. The faster that engine is spinning, the warmer it gets, so you want to allow a little more clearance to compensate for the expansion of metal from the heat. Hope that helps!

Crazy video, watched about half of it and thought this guy has to have at least 500k subs. Great quality keep it up
Means a lot, thank you! Maybe one day🫶🏼
Great video. I’m curious as to why you didn’t use a Magnus Mivec delete and cam gear for your exhaust cam
Glad this one is not set to .018 Thou 😉
🙃🙃🤣🤣
Wym? That’s Panzerbuilt spec 😉
Niiice😁😁bro your content is of high quality, definitely deserve more recognition 💯💯

Nvm I just watched another one of your videos where you fixed it 🫡😂
What turbo setup for this build
Are you gonna widebody the evo? Whatcha mean by bigger and better?
when i torqued that large cam cap, the cam cap actually broke and I had to buy the aftermarket billet aluminum one and got it bored to the head.
Ouchhhhhh
4b11 head cylinder bolt number please mention?
Good job mate

@@bschoenborn thank you so much brother i use 10w60 in Middle East so i think i need bit more clearance than the stock engine , thanks brother
Sometimes you just got to modify a tool. Have a few myself.
When theres a will, theres a way🥳
Ayy 👏 new vid 😅
Yeppers! 😁
How many likes to get you to get a nicer table? I don't trust that folding table lmao
Maybe you should use a piston ring expander next time…
I've used them.... prefer doing it by hand.
🔥
This looks exactly like a genesis coupe 2.0t engine.
Subie one love❤
that is NOT how you put rings on a piston....eeehk

THOSE AREN'T APR BOLTS. THOSE ARE THE OLD BOLTS. WHY IS EVERYTHING IN CAPS?
@@bschoenborn OHH OK.
I JUST PERFER TO RIGHT IN CAPS. LOL
@@bschoenborn😂😂😂
Arp website says that rod bolts should be stretched 3 times upon install...
