I sat here and watched the hole thing and didn’t even realize how long this was lol 😂
It really do be like that sometimes lol
everyone did
I wanna do that too
i love how that’s the exact comment from the one three years ago 😂
Outside of Jay from Real St building a 2jz, this is the only time I’ve watched a full rebuild, good stuff.
i must say you inspire me alot, i paint cars for a living, and know nothing about engines, but after following you for a long time i whent out and bought a boat project, i dont have the money for an evo (wish i had an evo 9) i got a little help, but i have now renovated my 7.4 v8 big block and it sounds insane. soon i will be putting the engine in the boat.
thank you for your videos
Just a heads up, for anyone doing a timing belt job on a 4G63, you set the timing and tensioner, you then turn the motor over 3 full times and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. After 10 minutes, check your timing markings on everything and pull the grenade pin on the tensioner. It should slide in and out no problem. You can go a further step and turn the motor over another 3 times with the grenade pin out and then slide the pin in and out to double check that your tension is properly set.
Yeah its actually very easy and simple concept not sure why I found it so confusing reading forum posts. Just read the manual and tried it, understood clearly when the pin wouldn't pull easily
Might add that it needs to be at TDC when pin slides in and out losely.
@@seanhatch4425 Not really, but it helps to keep track of things.
I am rebuilding a 6A13TT and this video was incredibly valuable as it didn't skip a bunch of steps and detailed all the work you could feasibly do out if a typical home garage.
Thanks so much!
People pay 20-40k for trade school to learn how to do motor work and Devin out here teaching us boys how to do it. Class is in section everyone!!!!!! Awesome video Devin. Very detail and clear appreciate the knowledge
Oh my God... 51 minutes! I need a lot of coffee.. 1am already in here.
Love the engine builds, makes me wanna try my own build. great work 💪
me too im still a bitch though
So happy now. Had withdrawal sickness
Thank god I went to UTI cause now I understand everything you do !
How was UTI ? Worth it ?
@@humbertoportillo9057 it’s good the only con is the price but well worth it you get taught stuff like in this video
@@that_truckerr0845 I really want to attend. Trying to figure out financing :/
@@kylesmith9048 they have plans there you just have to talk to them
Man i am so glad that your detailed vid matched with this engine. Just what i was looking for. Loving evo so much
That’s going to be another legit Evo rolling around. So nice to see these when you finish them vs the clunker marketplace conditions seen most of the time. 🤘😎
I rebuilt a 4g69 for my automotive class at my college and the similarities are almost identical, this was addicting to watch!
YESSS! So happy to finally get back to the blue Evo I am in love.
Damn clicked on it so fast that it didn’t even load the first time
Absolutely awesome video. Love the detail you put into your builds. I’ve referenced your 4b11 build a few times when I had a question too. Keep up the great content.
Good to have you back. Can't wait to see the Evo back up and running.
Love seeing a engine rebuild, This is like therapy to me 🤘🏼
Im currently in the process of rebuilding my F20c for my Ap1. and this in depth build video helped me understand the whole process better, very informative video. I know we have 2 different motors but the rebuild process/concept is the same as far as steps go. Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to record this for those like me, SUPER good luck on your build in the future to come and let that shit rippp one time real hard for me! ‘Love all the way from that Houston Texas maneeee!
Love the engine build vids!! Type of stuff that is super helpful for others that like to learn/do for themselves (as well as others that just need a refresh)!
Thanks for teaching me how to work on my evo. Your knowledge and motivation is inspiring. Also can't wait to utilize this tutorial ❤
I just grenaded my evo 8 last week. I am pretty mechanically inclined and have assembled motors before, but never a 4G63. This video gave me the confidence and drive to build this engine myself. Thank you sir!
I love the long vids! I know they are not easy to make but very much appreciated
This video made me find your channel. I was building my DSM first car motor build, and I neede to see somebody who actually showed what they were doing and showed the results. I've been watching your videos ever since. This evo is bonkers, I cant believe the 6 speed held it so long.
Finally something to watch again. I was waiting till midnight for nothing the last few days.
Awesome video as always bro' hopefully tomorrow we get to see another one. This build coming out just beautiful. Can't wait to hear this engine 🔥🔥🔥
Really, really useful video. Thanks for taking the time to film this in such detail Devin 👍
man o man, chag tuned is gonna tie this all together.. can't wait to see the tuning videos!
I usually watch the 25 min vids during cardio. Can’t wait to feel dead after this 50 mins
Very detailed and explanations for why and how everything goes together was awesome! Great job Devin!
This was super satisfying thank you for the video.
I'm a honda guy but appreciate how detailed you are with everything. I can really tell you love what you do. 💯
Hey I just want to say you are supposed to turn the motor over 2 full cycles of rotations or I think it was like going past the crank timing mark like 8 times of rotation. After that wait 15 minutes then check that the pin in the tensioner moves freely so that you know that tensioner is set correctly. It has something to do with settling valve train and for the belt to stretch and auto tensioner to settle. It might be fine but thought I'd mention it.
The build we all have been waiting for great content dev
This is why we watch and support you Devin. Amazing content every time and builds. #livewithpassion ready for the Merch drop Friday!
This is a great guide, i'm about to rebuild my 2.0L Ecoboost engine as well. The timing couldn't have been better, i'm in the planning stages nd now i have a clear idea of what all i need before the block comes back from the machine shop.
Great tutorial Devin I watched it from start to finish. Looking forward to the next video on the build.
Man i think we've all been waiting patiently for this one.
Woo devin good to have you back brother, absolutly loving the content
So much detail you did a really amazing job! Phenomenal video thanks for putting so much time into it
Thank you Devin. This has been a huge help while building my own engine.
Great video. Just some word of advice, when doing the balance shaft delete, please make sure that the oil pump belt tension isnt too tight. It will cause the pump gear to wear into the aluminum front case and wipe out your main bearings. The timing tensioner pin should be able to freely be removed and re-inserted if tension is set correctly.
Secondly, with the balance shafts removed, oil pressure to the head is going to spike. Get a Kiggly HLA (Oil pressure regulator) that goes in the head. A. It will keep the oil pressure down and lower the volume of oil that gets sent to the head. B. It will reduce the amount of oil being pushed through the breather or catch can due to the increase of oil pressure/ volume from the balance shaft delete.
You spent alot of time and money on this build, i would hate to see a video with anything negative happening. Love your channel bro. 🤙🏽👊🏽
That's one of the best engine build video I've ever watched. I really love your meticulous job and explanation. Your video really encourage me to rebuild an engine if I have chance. Thank you.
