So apparently I squealed when I saw the notice and scared the heck out of my husband haha. This came out so amazing!! I love the little details you added with the leaves. Maybe a side table or a bookcase would go nice beside the sofa. Something for the kitchen would also be lovely. I’m sure you’ll find just the thing to add next. Thank you for sharing!

I don't know why I didn't come to you first as you always seem to have whatever I need whether or not I remember. I am trying to make a very specific couch and this looks like the one I am trying to reproduce. You solved my how to upholster a wooden sofa straight away. Thanks Ara, I will tag you if and when I upload.

just for info: when making this type of furniture you can choose to use all chipboard; of course it takes many layers (and do the curve as it dries), but there are no corrugations and you can get a smoother look wherever the piece curves (so don't have to use the glue/compound mixture to cover holes). (just make sure to lightly sand each layer of chipboard for good glue hold) ... also for your inquiry: a whimsical dresser or chest of drawers would be nice addition to your great work

It's lovely! The leaf details make all the difference too. Maybe an old vintage vanity table for upstairs? A table...whatever you do, I know it will be fab! ~ Stephanie

Ooooo. My badly neglected "backyard terrace" now has a bench in the plans................but I may do a bit of "customizing" and slim it and trim it so it resembles a cast iron bench we used to have under our arbor...................the inspiration I get from you and your projects is immense and I am eternally grateful for you and your talents!

An ornate chandelier (of course....) & (i asked for this before for the captain's quarters, but....) an elephant foot umbrella stand...200 years ago it was all the rage...fun to make with polymer clay. And, an exotic old persian carpet. That's what i'd like to see, since you asked. And, thanks for the excellent couch pattern, i want to try that.

Im so glad I found your channel, your tutorials are at a great pace, your thorough and easy to understand 😁
Totally love the couch and will definitely be looking to u for ideas and inspiration 🥰
Im 62 and have had my doll house kit for approx 30yrs..I know..shocking right lol.
Been a miniature nut since childhood but my doll house always seems so daunting I usually end up putting it back in the box 🤨.
My sis also bought me all the furniture that comes in the panels u push out and put together. They have the lil wooden tabs all over them which drives me crazy so cutting them off and gluing them all was just another job I sadly couldn't be bothered with. So slack of me I know!
I think I've seen so many dolls houses over the years im brain dead as to where to start lol. I've painted the outside but had to move house so back into the box she went..sigh..😧
Im leaning towards an older style, run down bush home. Im an Aussie and love the old farm property houses out there.
Anyway I just wanted to thanku for your wonderful tutorials and look forward to all your projects.
    Cheers Kas from Oz 👍👍

I would never have guessed that was made of cardboard. BEAUTIFUL! I don't think it looks like camo though. More like one of those tropical rainforesty prints, which matches the leaves. I'm going to have to use this technique for Rover's bridge chair.
A bookshelf to put interesting things could be cool and maybe a potted plant (a kind of strange, mysterious one) to go with the woodsy, fairy tale cottage look.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis

Thank you so much for making this idiot proof 😬 I made one, but I ended up with a little bit different pattern than yours because I couldn't print it. Also, I can't find my spakle, so I used caulk instead. Caulk worked really well because a.) I could smooth it out with a damp finger, So no sanding, and b.) I was able to put some decorative elements in, and round out the feet of the sofa since I went with more of a Queen Anne style. I love yours and would really like to make one more like yours because I love your idea for using it on a patio. Instead, I painted mine to look more like wood so it matches the Queen Anne coffee table I already have. ❤️ Thank you again for this. I just discovered your channel and have been binge watching some of your tutorials. 🥰

Thank you for making it clear to us "laymen" your description of "Chipboard". I was imagining stuff like the big construction stuff that is like 3/4" thick! Duh. Now, I'm glad I've hoarded all the cereal, cracker, etc. boxes; instead of going ahead & recycling them! LOL! In fact, I was going to be commenting (asking) what you meant by chipboard after I watched this particular video. Thank you, Ara! Keep making things small!

    A year later...lol.
I love your designs and watching you create such beautiful and unique pieces. Thank you for sharing.
I collect ball jointed dolls and aim to create some furniture for them so they can sit down...😆. And now I'm getting interested in making houses. In addition to stacks of fabrics and yarn, I now have a stack of boxes... OMG. I wish I had a buddy nearby to share this hobby with, maybe I should stand outside of Michael's or hobby lobby with a sign.. (I'm cracking myself up this glorious morning).
I recently picked up some Warhammer books at the thrift store and have discovered that the gentlemen (and ladies) involved in that gaming hobby collect and paint small action statues, and make little dioramas for them. It's so interesting to see the intersection of these toy/craft hobbies. 🤗
Oh well, the chatter of an old child. Happy holidays to all who come across this musing.

I scaled this down to 1:24 and I can't wait to make it!!! My next diorama will feature a photo by my friend, Christine Wiggins, and is a living room scene! Your wingback chair design (scaled down, of course) will also look spectacular in my living room. I already have one in the library. (I'm so sorry, Ara, I don't know how to download photos to Facebook or UTube. My granddaughter tried to explain it to me and it sounds really complicated. I am word processing savvy and other than that completely computer illiterate!).

The things you come up with are all marvelous but I have to admit, I really love this sofa.
Ideas? You want ideas? I got a million of 'em! This sofa is crying out for a coffee/tea table adorned with a tea pot, cups, saucers, sugar bowl, creamer.... . Ooh, and what my mother called a drum table. A round table on curved legs that has claw feet and on top, a Tiffany style lamp. If you're going for a Victorian vibe, then you simply must have clutter! Chairs to go with the sofa, maybe a striped fabric. And tablecloths to the floor. Victorians did not allow bare table legs to show as it was considered immodest. A terrarium in a glass dome with flowers or a bowl of potpourri would be nice. A secretary desk could work. Elegant overdone curtains--I just had a flash of Carol Burnett in her "curtain" gown from the episode, "Went With the Wind." Fancy chandelier with a "plaster" medallion and of course, lots of family portraits in gold leaf frames.
If you're going for a fey/fairy look, delicate furnishings, gauzy drapery with some sparkle, leaf shaped plates and a flower teapot would work. I think the greenery idea would work well for a fairy home. And yeah, gotta have flowers for a fairy home.
    Okay, I'm shutting up now.

I had a thought when rolling the chipboard for the couch arms; if a smoother roll was ever needed you could probably get that by cutting quite a long strip the width you needed, grab both ends, and bend and scrape it up and down over the corner of a table. It would "break" more smoothly than can be done with just fingers, and then would roll up pretty well.
Not that I'm trying to criticize! Your couch is GORGEOUS! But someday if a smoother roll is ever needed for some reason, this might help.
