If you smack the end of the die with a hammer each strike, you'll get a much sharper, deeper image. Use a felt surface so there's enough "give" for the hammer to really set the motif.
Something stiffer than felt, a nylon/plastic cutting board will give rigidity to the strike yet not damage your tools or work surfaces. Maybe watch leather stamping, it uses this type of tool. There are a couple of hammer/maul types that will improve your technique as well.

Oh my, such perfect timing I'm working on a mini Victoria kitchen this fall and this will be a lovely addition to the table wow I think I 🤔 can even make this, thank 😊 you!
These are gorgeous! When I have tried a similar technique (although never so fancy!) I always get at least one "wrinkle" or area of the rim that won't lie flat, which takes away from the whole look. Do you have any tips for avoiding this?
Thank you very much💕It could be the thickness of the foil. I tried this technique on a drinks can and it left a wrinkle on the edge. So I guess if the foil is too thick, it doesn't work as well. These foil trays were the best option for me.
¡Muchas gracias! Puedes probar diferentes objetos para hacer marcas en la bandeja de papel de aluminio. Por ejemplo, un bolígrafo funciona muy bien. Saludos a españa😊💕

Fabulous work and genius idea 👏🏻👍🏻 I was wondering if there is a way to strengthen the trays 🧐? I’m trying to figure it out 😅 but nothing is coming to me 😂 Never mind 😁 it’s just my brain thinking out loud 😆 Love your work as always ❤ ❤
Thank you very much💕💕😄 I was thinking the exact same thing when I was making them but couldn't come up with anything. A viewer said to use a hammer with felt underneath to get a deeper image so I wonder if gluing the foil on card first would work and then use a hammer 🤔
Those small leather stamps vary in prices but I got mine from Amazon UK and paid just under £8. I think there might be cheaper ones on other websites. It's worth comparing prices.
I have the exact same tools you have but can’t get the design to come out. I’ve tried different aluminum pans. Put felt under it. Whacked it with a hammer. What am I doing wrong ?
So sorry to hear it hasn't worked. It might be the type of aluminum. I can't think of any other reason. The type I used was fairly soft so that it was easy to leave the marks (Disposable Aluminum Foil Pans). Unfortunately I got mine from a local store in UK and can't remember the brand. I wish I was able to help you.
@@tinycraftlife I’ve used different aluminum pan types. I was on a rampage to find one that would work. I tried a pan my husband bought a danish in. The most I got was the outline of the stamp. No design. . I’m so disappointed I could cry. 😭 You make it look so easy and they’re so pretty. I’ve been making miniatures and other crafts for many many years and this is the only thing I haven’t been able to accomplish. Also I put a piece of craft foam under it, 😞
@@loriwright3048 😥I am so so sorry it hasn't worked. I am really astonished. It really should work. How about trying without anything underneath and just pressing with your hand. No hammer etc. First time I did mine without foam and hammer and it did work. I really can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work...

@@tinycraftlife that might just work!
Or maybe try to fill the edges with gel super glue from the back maybe that will make it stronger? 🤔
I was thinking that using super glue to glue two layers together, then stamping and cutting out might work.
In any case, the trays are lovely!
Maybe applying some wood glue to the backs would stiffen them up some?
Fabulous!
