- Homemade Tahini has a rich nutty taste and is so easy to make with just two ingredients - sesame seeds and oil. It is so much better and cheaper than store-bought tahini. Tahini paste is a perfect addition not only to hummus but also great to make salad dressings and dips.

Thank you for sharing. Very much appreciate the kind recommendation.

You can change the oil if you want to give it a different kick ex.: coconut/sesame/grapseed/advocado/olive/peanut oil etc. As long as it is a quality one.
Wow! Tq for the tips 👍🏻

Use sesame oil and a pinch of salt to deepen flavour.
Salt for contrast!
Would it work if you bought already toasted sesame seeds and grind them then add your oil?

That's what I was also thinking bcuz I have lots of roasted sesame in my kitchen and wanna try this with it

How long can we store this and should we refrigerate it
Tahini can be stored in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for a month (maybe a little more). You might need to stir it well before use, as the oils may separate.
How many days can we store it?
+1
You can store up to a month in the refrigerator. Also, check out this lemon tahini sauce - pipingpotcurry.com/lemon-tahini-sauce/
I made it but it turned out to be a little bitter. Wonder why that was
Tahini is naturally slightly bitter, as the sesame seeds and olive oil are both naturally bitter. But if it is overly bitter, then it is possible that the seeds were rancid. Also, if while toasting the sesame seeds are burnt, the tahini can taste bitter.
You can add lemon juice, honey/maple syrup, garlic, and cumin to make lemon tahini sauce or dressing. This will make it come to the perfect pleasing taste. Here is the detailed recipe for lemon tahini sauce - pipingpotcurry.com/lemon-tahini-sauce/
Do you use a blender or a food processor?
I used my vitamix blender.
That’s all😂
How to use it?
I add it to my lemon tahini sauce, which we use as salad dressing or to top on grain bowls. pipingpotcurry.com/lemon-tahini-sauce/

Do we need to add salt ?
This is the basic tahini paste, so I don't add any salt. Here is my lemon tahini sauce recipe - pipingpotcurry.com/lemon-tahini-sauce/

can we freeze it?
You can store it in the refrigerator for up to 15 days. I have not tried, but this tahini paste should freeze well.

My sauce became bitter in taste😢what should i do?
It is preferable to use hulled sesame seeds to make tahini, as they are less bitter compared to unhulled sesame seeds. Try to add lemon, garlic, etc to make Lemon Tahini Sauce - pipingpotcurry.com/lemon-tahini-sauce/
@@PipingPotCurry may I ask what kind of blender do you have? And can you make nut butter out of your blender also
No lemon, no salt, no white pepper? Lemon is a must to act as a natural preservative.

Why not add Sesame seed oil???
I like to add olive oil for the mild flavor. You can add sesame oil too, however I would suggest to add a small amount.
Then it wouldn't be tahini. The flavour will change n tahini is an additive in hummus etc the whole recipe will lose its flavour
@@doladutta7699 I use tahini because asian cooking use sesame seed/oils in so many items. I have been using as a sauce thickener is so many hot and cold dishes because it works and it contains a unique macro profile that goes back 1,000s of years in many of the Pacific basin cultures.
Did you know different cultures call the same food sources by different names all through time? I've adopted the thought that 500 years ago all cultures were keto using the indigenous foods of the area - because sugar and wheat were imported items back then.
