@@CourtneyCoulstonsis I missed your beautiful sensibilities and pure heart I hope you had a wonderful holiday ( it is holiday season in the UK ) if you come to Los Angeles ( which is a sports town ) there’s a restaurant called roscoes chicken and waffles ya gotta hit up
The 1960 presidential debates are quite interesting, because those who tuned into via radio believed Nixon won, whereas those watched the tv broadcast believed Kennedy won
Nice to see you’re still alive, Courtney. I know this video doesn’t have anything to do with this, but I figured I’d let you in on some exciting info you might like. Since you enjoyed your first game during your USA trip, the NHL is planning on playing a couple of preseason exhibition games in Melbourne in late September (Los Angeles Kings vs. Arizona Coyotes). It might be worth making the jump over from NZ so keep an eye out on more details.
Just watched Diane Jennings react to this same video. Who else thinks a Courtney-Diane joint reaction video would be a lot of fun? (Of course, the time difference between New Zealand and Ireland means that it would be awfully inconvenient for somebody.)
@@JasonMoir That's right, forgot about that. Just looked it up, Spain and New Zealand are exactly 12 hours apart, so one is in the AM and the other is the same time in the PM. Seems the solution to this would be "Irish Girl and New Zealand Girl react to Flat Earth Theory". 😄
I live in the southwest United States. I can tell you it is the wild wild west now. No really, I have been robbed at gunpoint and assaulted.....and that was before the pandemic. LAs Vegas is Sodom and Gomorrah....life is a trip. 🤠🤠
If you manage a road trip around the US, and the timing is right, go to central Nebraska in late March early Apri... you would love the crane migration. And there are a few touristy things to do too, like Pioneers Village
Granted, the states tourism motto is "It's not for everyone"... but the crane migration is pretty impressive. I'm not a bird guy and whenever I see it I'm slack-jawed
What Cheer is a town that is shrinking, but it's not totally boarded up. It might be the smallest town in the US with an Opera House though! 😮 And if you want quirky tourist spots, Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska is perfect for that. :)
Eureka, Nevada has 414 citizens as of 2020 and an opera house. The closest town big enough to have a gas station is Austin, Nevada is 70 miles west. It has a population of about 150 people.
I saw a few elevation-related facts, but here's one that wasn't listed that I think is very interesting: The highest and lowest points in the lower 48 are only 88 miles apart, both in California. Mount Whitney at 14,494 feet, and Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park at -282 feet.
Also, Arizona has towns called Snowflake and Santa Claus. In Michigan you can visit both Paradise and He'll. Both are towns in Michigan. Hell is in the lower peninsula and Paradise is in the upper one. I've been to both and must admit that Hell was a BETTER looking town than some of the other cities and towns IN Michigan!!!
The Founder is a good movie for anyone to watch about the start of two brothers starting Mcdonnalds and gettng cheated out of it by a milkshake maker salesman
Actually Mona kea in Hawaii is much taller the problem is 3/4 of the thing is underwater. Think about it the entirety of one island is the mountain and it’s still active building up new land.
Are you still in the USA? Please go to a drum corps regional or championship and do a VLOG (San Antonio?, Atlanta?, Allentown?, Indianapolis Chamionships?)
The landscape shown in the fact of Yuma, Arizona is nowhere near Yuma. It is Monument Valley at the Utah and Arizona border. Yuma is near where Arizona borders California and Mexico.
#5 is incorrect. New Jersey had women's suffrage from its inception in 1777 until the early 1800s, long before Wyoming even existed as a State. #33 is also incorrect. New York was not the first capital of the US. New York became the capital after the current US Constitution was ratified in 1788. Prior to that, while operating under the Articles of Confederation, the capital of the US was Philadelphia. In 1791, it was moved back to Philadelphia until Washington DC was built.
Courtney, You are chasing a dream. I would rather see a video three months later from a happy girl than one that just sits there unhappy that she is not following her dream.
You definitely SHOULD come to the U.S. with time enough for a road trip... There are LOTS AND LOTS of quirky, goofy, small-town and some outright freaky attractions dotted ALL OVER the U.S... Just plan on making more than one of those road trips! No need to burn out before you even see half of them... haha More people should know about the Statue of Liberty and Pulitzer... He wrote an article about the Statue, and challenged the country to take pride in being ONE country altogether, that no single city or state should have to bear the entire brunt of financial responsibility when the Statue was going to symbolize ALL of us... AND it started one of the first ever Crowd-sourcing campaigns. People were sending in envelopes with pocket change in them!!! Homeless were putting together a little spare change to send in, and the mailroom at the newspaper HQ couldn't even hold all the mail TO PULITZER ALONE for months!!! SO everybody chipped in what they could spare, and the Statue of Liberty was funded. He's also THAT Pulitzer, the one for whom the famous "Pulitzer Prize" is named... on this very account. I'm not far from North Carolina (right on the border with Tennessee in fact)... SO I know about the frying pan... There's a "Country Doctor Museum" just outside of Raleigh-Durham, too, complete with exhibits including all the amenities of the age of horses and buggies, and housecalls... little black bags and everything... You might find the story of Duke University (in Durham) interesting... They're known for the "Blue Devils" in sports, in spite of originally being "Trinity College" and founded primarily by Methodists. BUT they adopted the Mascot of Blue Devils and the name from a French Alpine Light Infantry unit known for guerrilla warfare in the mountains in WWI, Les Chasseurs Alpins, aka "les diables blues" colloquially. AND have fun with the constant squabbles about "Duke Blue" versus "North Carolina State Blue"!!! Those two schools (yes, NC State is another college) have been arch rivals forever... haha AND there's just tons of small factoids and background stories about different organizations and the weird twists of fate that led this country bit by bit to become the weird and frequently hilarious place that it is... ;o)

Santa Fe, New Mexico is not only the highest state capital, it is also the oldest, having been founded in 1610. There is also a Santa Fe, Texas and Santa Fe Springs, California. There is also a Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Due to crazy Democrat politicians, California now has a slightly lower population that Canada. However, despite having lower populations, both California and Texas have larger economies than Canada. (NY isn't far behind. Florida comes next.)
