    I read somewhere that the Tag in Wolf of Wall Street was used because DiCaprio was (and/or still is) an ambassador for the brand. Using a Rolex was contractually out of the question, so they used a model that would be easily mistaken. He didn't throw it into the crowd because it was unsatisfactory - he threw it into the crowd because one is to believe he was discarding an insanely expensive piece without a second's thought, whilst maintaining contract obligations.

    It should be noted the Daniel Craig isn't wearing that vintage Omega out of pure love. He is a paid spokesperson for the brand, and is therefore forbidden to wear anything but Omegas whenever he is in public. Further, he is obligated to wear an Omega on press juncets, red carpet affairs, or whenever the watch maker deems it necessary.

    • @trinity3422
      @trinity3422 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He’s still doing that by choice. He could just as easily become an ambassador for Breitling like Brad Pitt or Tag like Leo. Many celebrities make this choice and most likely do so one for the money but two because they also enjoy the watch brand as a whole. That’s why many of them switch companies over the years but still decide to be ambassadors

    Most that collect know this but watch out for any vintage watch that’s been polished. Polishing the watch takes a small amount of the metal off the watch to remove the scratches. Most people looking for vintage watches do not want to find that it’s been polished. They’d rather have the scratches

It would be nice to see a celeb wearing a classic Bulova, Caravelle, Benrus, Waltham, Gruen, or even a Hamilton. However, any vintage watch is 100 times better than an Apple Watch. The Audemarsk Piguet Jumbo is "one ugly mf" in the worst possible sense. Clunky w/o style or substance. But I suppose, desperate times in Swiss watchmaking history require desperate make or break models such as this. However, watch the strap an the prongs. Very unusual and a replacement strap which is difficult to find. I know because I have a vintage Tissot with such prongs and can't find a proper replacement strap (Tissot have stopped to manufacture this model many, many years ago), so any leather strap has to be cut to fit the prongs.
