What a great collection. I don't own a Lange or Daytona but much of my collection is very similar to Jose's. The fact Jose is a watchmaker makes me proud of my collection. Loved this video. One of Chronos best in my opinion.
This is a remarkable collection that shows Jose's individual personality. He isn't just buying hype watches. Love the quote that the watches choose him.
By the way our presenter is wearing a jumping hour Benrus golf watch. I could recognize it because I am wearing a leather strap version of it, loved to see on him 👌
what a collection!...I am envious......He has used his position working in a high end jewelrey store brilliantly along with his expertise in watches to have such a unique and rare collection......cheers Jose.....enjoy your watches!
I don't even know how many watch videos I watch per day but this is hands-down the BEST video I've seen all year! I saw Jose Vega's other video first then this one but I hope he becomes a regular, I would love for Thomas and Jose to sit down like Thomas and Balazs do and just go over a set of watches... ideally watches that are for sale on chrono24? Jose is so personable and has such easy and natural charisma, confidence, knowledge and humility. At the same time Thomas is such the perfect interviewer really drawing out more about the person and the watches... it's a match made in heaven! ( I actually would love a Thomas/Balazs/Jose video, but maybe that's too much of a dream...) thanks again!
I feel you have taken over the mantel that is 'Talking Watches'! Great content and looking forward to more interesting collectors that we all can relate with.
Amazing talking watches! They definitely need to add a bit of music and better edit but overall great conversation! Funny how first thing Thomas says is that he doesn’t like his Sprite lol
Amazing collection. That Daytona is one of my grails, although not sure if i prefer the new or old ref. Also my dad has an unworn bark finish DD from (i think) 1996, although it’s champagne dial - i much prefer the onyx. Great collection 👍
Why is everyone questioning his salary? I am sure he makes at least $150k in Conn, maybe more, let the guy be. Also when you work at a store you get a hefty discount on some brands.
His next watch would be a Greubel Forsey. As a continually learning watch guy, I hadn't heard of this brand before so thought I'd post in case there were others searching as well! Took me a while to figure out lol
Like the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Charger competing for power and speed, do you think Omega is overdue in updating its 9-year-old 8900 movement to have 80 hours in power reserve to get the checkered flag over Rolex?
"We don't scoff at quartz". Of course you don't, the man that started you down this path, your father in law worked half a century for Seiko. Incredible. I own a well loved Flight master SNA 413. My only watch! And obviously, I don't scoff at quartz either.
For sure it’s not the best decorated or handmade watch. However this watchmaker has 4 (5 if you include Tudor) of them. I hardly saw watchmakers who did not appreciate the wonderfully robustly and service friendly designed Rolex movements.
Roger Smith wears a Rolex all the time. Rolex is no where near the top echelon in finishing but it checks every other box there is. Someone like Smith could wear whatever he wants but he wears a Rolex because it is a fantastic mechanical workhorse of a watch.
Do Watch makers make a huge income? I always wanted to look into that career but was always told it’s so niche I would make slightly over minimum wage in the back of a Jewlery store in town. But based off this guys pieces it does look like there has to be some money to be made in that field…..
Who would’ve thought Chrono24 would be like 80x better than Hodinkee’s channel in 2024. Life is crazy folks.
If this is 80x then CRM Miami with 3x subscribers is going on Netflix.
Shit - you have a point
@@davidkess3750CRM is cringy af, you can almost smell the stink from their videos.
this!!!!!!!!
Things change
Jose‘s one of the coolest guys in the industry. Watchmaker, a collector and still showing up at watch events & being part of the community.
Surely that helps his business and aligns with his passion?
"we don't scoff at quartz", word!
His own school pieces are incredible
It's gotta be a great feeling to have your own name engraved on a movement
Chrono24, I'm addicted to your videos keep them flowing
Easily my fave watch vids on TH-cam and one of the refreshing few that aren't paid endorsement!
What a great collection. I don't own a Lange or Daytona but much of my collection is very similar to Jose's. The fact Jose is a watchmaker makes me proud of my collection. Loved this video. One of Chronos best in my opinion.
Same feeling here. His collection and the way he collects speaks to me as a watch collector and is so relatable.
The day-date onyx dial has been a personal grail of mine since highschool, I'm 24 now and hope to get one soon!
Yes, so elegant ... but why oh why obstruct the dial with a chunk of cyclop lens. (Yes, I know, that is a Rolex trademark - but so ugly)
Thomas always brings in the most interesting watches and members of our watch community. Well done sir!
Said no one ever
Jose is the man, so knowledgeable so humble. Great interview, Chrono24. I am excited for more of your content.
This is a remarkable collection that shows Jose's individual personality. He isn't just buying hype watches. Love the quote that the watches choose him.
Quality content. Love the 18248 DD with the onyx dial. What a watch!
The more I watche, the more I learn thank you Thomas 😊 keep them coming
By the way our presenter is wearing a jumping hour Benrus golf watch. I could recognize it because I am wearing a leather strap version of it, loved to see on him 👌
I enjoyed this type of contents with real people as opposed to rich bozos with collections we can never aspire to. Thank you
what a collection!...I am envious......He has used his position working in a high end jewelrey store brilliantly along with his expertise in watches to have such a unique and rare collection......cheers Jose.....enjoy your watches!
" We don't scoff at Quartz! '' - Jose Vega / Certified Watchmaker 👏👏🤝
Really enjoyed the video and Jose’s insight. Awesome collection.
I love his wood dial watch. Beautiful. The first watch I've actually felt like splurging on.
Thx for the vidéo.
I'm sorry, i'm french and i don't understand the last sentence. He would sell his whole collection for which watch ?!?
Grubel Forsey.
Yes, I guess a specific model. Because the entry ones aren't worth that much.
I don't even know how many watch videos I watch per day but this is hands-down the BEST video I've seen all year! Oh wow! Awesome video. It's 1:31 AM here and I just finished watching this interview with Jose. What a video and what a collection. Great work!
Such a humble guy who is obviously financially successful as well. Awesome watch collection. Very impressed!
Seems like a nice humble guy , with a unique perspective.
Great interview, great collection and great personality that one of Jose.
I guess watchmakers are paid very well. Gold Rolexes and A.Langue in platinum at the early thirties. Congrats!
Yeah and they pay wholesale instead of retail
That was great...bravo Jose.
Great video chrono24 - keep them coming please!
Best video so far for this month!
One of the best collections I've seen
I didn’t know watchmakers were Ballin like that! I knew I should’ve went to watchmaking school
Great video, thanks. The Lange 1 is called timezone.
What watch was he talking about at 23:43?
Greubel forsey
Wonderful collection and very bright Watchmaker. Excellent Taste and Craft!
1:14 *Whoa. Vega's "School Watch." Just incredible.* 🤯
That Brew watch is stunning.
What is the watch name he mentions at the end?
Yes! Please, very curious about that too, since I didn't get it.
found it in another comment. greubel forsey
Great episode!! My guy had heat. But it’s the stories and the journey I enjoyed most.
Kudos to bro for sticking with his guns and buying what he likes
PROSWAY IN THE BUILDING!!
23:40 What did he say he would get at the end?
Greubel Forsey
Incredible collection! Some serious funkiness going on with this one.
I feel you have taken over the mantel that is 'Talking Watches'! Great content and looking forward to more interesting collectors that we all can relate with.
That’s a damn cool collection. Great variety. This guy knows his watches.
Amazing collection, I love all of his choices 😍 Seems like a really down to earth guy. Enjoyed this one 👍
What’s the name of that watch brand he said at the end he would sell all and buy?
Greubel Forsey
Bravo guys this is real watch content
Is the IWC green cera coat? That coating is practically bomb prove.
Jose is one of the very best in the industry! 😄
Amazing talking watches! They definitely need to add a bit of music and better edit but overall great conversation! Funny how first thing Thomas says is that he doesn’t like his Sprite lol
Hi Jose, can I check how much to service a quartz movement like 19018?
Good people, great watches, insightful stories, another x # of minutes spent to take it in and enjoy.
Forget the watches. Who did that clean fade on the sides?
great video and chat! just a suggestion: maybe you guys could zoom in on the watches a little more. cheers!
Congrats to Jose Vega, so proud to see a real latino into watchmaking.
I live in Lititz, Pa.
I’m 2 min away from Lititz Watch Technicum
What a small world.
Greubel Forsey watches are sick. Good pick
Excellent! Love that onyx daydate and the daydate oysterquartz
Amazing collection. That Daytona is one of my grails, although not sure if i prefer the new or old ref. Also my dad has an unworn bark finish DD from (i think) 1996, although it’s champagne dial - i much prefer the onyx.
Great collection 👍
Excellent interview since he is a watchmaker
Beautiful collection
This is a cool concept for a video. If you turned "Watchmaker's Take" into a series I would watch all of it.
23:40 What did he say? Google 4Z?
Greubel Forsey
I own a 1950s Rolex Royal Precision mechanical manual wind. My fav next is my 18K rose gold IWC dress watch from the 1950s, again manual wind.
This collection is so fire
Great video. Unassuming nice guy with an interesting collection. Keep up the great work.
Why is everyone questioning his salary? I am sure he makes at least $150k in Conn, maybe more, let the guy be. Also when you work at a store you get a hefty discount on some brands.

What was the name of the watch that he'll sell everything for in case of getting another one?
such a cool piece
What a collection!
Hey Jose! Great job 😃
Waiting to see Robs collection I know there's some hidden heat in there
😉 maybe someday if asked
Jose is such a cool dude! You should hire him
Best video yet
That black onyx day date is my favorite of his. And it’s my birth year
Jose is the man!
Like the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Charger competing for power and speed, do you think Omega is overdue in updating its 9-year-old 8900 movement to have 80 hours in power reserve to get the checkered flag over Rolex?
Cool collection with some nice watches,
A Dornbluth would fit nice in, wear them in good health 🎉
I love the pikachu watch. The oyster flex strap on it looks even better. One day... one day.
This is my favourite collection I’ve seen.
What on earth did he say as the watch he’d trade it all for?
Gruebel forsey
What a dream collection! One incredible piece after another. But we know he is not done collecting, we just say that for the wife 😊
Impressive Collection. but how much does a watchmaker over there make :-) Crazy value on the table.
What watch is Thomas wearing here?
That’s a Benrus Dial-O-Rama jump hour watch from the 1950s
He has an interesting collection, some of it I hate & some of it I love.
great video 👍👍👍 and great colection 👍👍👍
Interesting collection. Very nice.
Inspirational
Great collection.
As a Lange collector I agree
Idk about the song and the end lol but great video tho 👏🏾👏🏾
2:31 ha I have a LWT Tudor sports chrono.
what a collection!
"We don't scoff at quartz". Of course you don't, the man that started you down this path, your father in law worked half a century for Seiko. Incredible. I own a well loved Flight master SNA 413. My only watch! And obviously, I don't scoff at quartz either.
Great video
Rolex: Top name in marketing? Yes. Top name in watchmaking? Not even close.
That Patek looks just like my LeCoultre in 14k gold from that era.
Do Watch makers make a huge income? I always wanted to look into that career but was always told it’s so niche I would make slightly over minimum wage in the back of a Jewlery store in town. But based off this guys pieces it does look like there has to be some money to be made in that field…..
Wow! Watchmakers must make a shit ton of money! So many grail watches there and the guy is like 30 ❤
The Lititz Watch Technicum has its own Wiki-interesting story!
Nice!!!
