To be fair, the character is way clunky compared to the norm when u start out.
Call it copium if you must but lift is probably decent with this character because you can mine horizontally and yeet resources into the lift instead of carrying them

@@kitspapp its deep NL lore. Recently he send a twitter message with the ending "stay pogged everyone" but misspelled without noticing and the meme was born.
I tried this character, had a hard time, and just saw he uploaded this. I don’t think I can take this one

Just watching him fumble through this character is so infuriating and unsatisfying. It's great. 😂
To be frank having tried it myself I think it needs work, the resource handling is way too clunky.

Didn’t feel frustrated so much as sympathetic to the new controls being frustrating. This could be a fun arc if/when he becomes cracked at using this character.
NL picking Lift instead of shredding for cobalt at the end is him taking the easy out lol

Watching him fumble while learning and still being the very engaging NL we know and love is much more preferable to him getting all quiet just to focus more. Like he could take all his gaming offline until he’s good but what’s the fun in that? FEED ME ALL THE CONTENT

I continue to struggle with this. On the one hand I want him to focus on the game he's playing and accomplish great things. On the other hand, that's not what we pay him for. We pay him for blunders, rants, banter and news about his personal life. It's a brand he has invested many of his years into, he has maintained it consistently and we eat it up.
I scream at my laptop (in my head), "Why doesn't he focus?!" Then I pause the videos, scroll through the comments looking for someone else saying the same thing. Then I find a comment like yours which sets me straight: this _is_ what I want from him, otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back for more.

I believe you may have meant "Benificiary" instead of "Benefactor". Not entirely certain that's the right word though.

Yep just looked up both words and he was definitely thinking of beneficiary. To his credit, he was pretty clear he wasn’t sure of the word though, considering he straight up asked chat. It’s not like he was claiming to be right

I like the idea behind the character, but it definitely needs more fine tuning.

I love how people are complaining about how “he’s not playing the character the right way” when those people probably don’t even have access to the character and if they did they would probably be 10 times as miserable to watch attempt learn to play said character
That's the joy of watching NL. You think you could do it so much better, then you actually play the game and learn how NL is actually cracked at the game. He is an expert at not coming off as an expert.

NL has gotten me to buy more games to prove that they aren't that hard than any promotional advertisement.

Algorithmic engagement
I think NL was totally justified in struggling with this character. There will probably come a time when people understand the character enough to be really good with it, but it definitely isn't intuitive or simple.

I have no idea how any of the people commenting expect there to be another video, calm down folks.
The controls for everything on this character are flipped from the engineer, really confusing. Pick up resources by holding space on engineer and pick up by holding Q on this character. But things like the condensor/gadgets you still pick up by holding space like with the OG engineer. I have no idea what the rationale was for choosing those default controls. I don't blame NL at all LOL

Screw all the backseaters in here, this character is ASS. I hated every second of playing him and watching NL here didn't help.
The idea of a ball that bounces and makes tunnels is neat, but it feels like that should just be a component, not the basis of a char
@@MehYam2112 I agree. It seems to me the guy ought to feel different, but just as good as the engineer when it comes to the basic stuff: mining, transporting, etc. But as of right now, he just feels weaker in all regards. Even the upgrades feel superweak and expensive for no reason.
