I think it makes more sense to take two trips to bring back resources that you've already spent time mining than mining more elsewhere in search of more resources and only taking the one trip (though I've heard it is real) while leaving resources out there for multiple rounds.
depending on how overburdened you are, it can legitimately take longer to take one trip than two

NL has never tried to bolt a Tarmogoyf when the two card types in graveyards were not instant and it shows
If the only thing you'll spend cobalt on is repair, it makes more sense to use it outside of battle, in the paused upgrade screen, than to exit battle to open the upgrade menu, repair, then jump back on the laser, where you have a chance of forgetting to jump on the laser and waste the repair because of lost time.
When people ask "why *not* spend it?" and NL says "because *why* spend it?" I think the obvious answer is "because you are human and have a margin for error, Mr. Forgets To Sit"

I really really think speed and carrying capacity early with a touch of drill speed is goated. He starts freaking out when he thinks he’s low on health and gonna need to rush for the end but i don’t think he’d need to rush if he could fly around the map with a ton of resources because he likes to carry them down with him 😂
At the very least he should do speed before he does carrying capacity since once helps you go faster all the time and the other only a small percent of the time.

Your first upgrade of each (speed, carrying, drill) are top priority imo. After that you're best off catering your build to whatever gadgets you find (need less carrying if you have the teleporter for example, but you need better drilling to compensate)
@@rompevuevitos222 no i mean 2 capacity and 2 speed with 1 drill speed are a really nice beginning as long as it works out with the resources. There are tons of other options to choose lol.
drillbert is good its so weird everyone thinks its not. you just have to change you build slightly

Thanks for all you do, NL! I’m 35 and typically don’t have time or patience for games. I’m always too busy with life and work. But I’ve been sick this weekend and discovered this game thanks to your videos. It’s honestly the most fun I’ve had in a good long time. My last run I maxed out the drill and maxed out the laser damage. It was so much fun!!!

@@erfaniom9576 Can you do the last option on the drill tech tree multiple times? The one that I think costs 30 squares if I am not mistaken. Even if I am mistaken, I had a ton of fun and that was my point.

Pro gamer tip: if you pause the game after you uncover one of the switches for the final artifact or the final artifact itself, it will open up, during the pause screen, thus not adding to your round timer.

They are buffing trees. There are different internal leaf structures and most common one is loosing some oxygen in the process, it's not efficient, there is another one that does work much better. And so there is a research on how to upgrade common leaves to that rare better structure.

I am very glad NL seems to enjoy this game. The more the better.

Watching NL play this has made me buy it, my 2nd run on normal and the medium map was a breeze, got the lift and did strip mining and managed to survive the last wave without using the relic. But! I do see why he psycho mines, the higher density stuff is a big time sync compared to mining around it
Fun game tho for sure, not sure how much replay value it has atm tho

Triangles are only used for healing or melee damage resistance, so he's insane not to get the damage upgrade immediately. He even says he won't to save the gold. He *is* taking crazy pills.

I see the auto targeting laser upgrade and the whole auto targeting stun laser tree and all the automatic gears and I say this with honesty and no sarcasm but some self depreciation my brain is like “aw yeah I can’t wait to buy this game just to set it up so I don’t have to play it and watch it play itself”
Just to be clear that isn’t an insult on the game it’s an insult on myself and what gives me dopamine hits, its clear you can play this game with an active playstyle just fine.
the fact that you save triangles and use them mid wave when you could just pre-heal baffles me, so much unnecessary risk and dmg taken
