- Two weeks ago James challenged AI to create a recipe from the ingredients on the Bugout Bunker shelf. It didn't go well. Can James do better? Will Lucy enjoy the result? Are we safe from the threat of AI?

Being 100% serious: This is quality content to me. Just a chill and relaxing cooking video with James and co, being quite funny towards the end as well when Lucy comes in, and the beans just tasting like beans etc (plus I got a laugh out of James trying to wipe up the spilled "Bloody Mary" from the table, only for it to dribble down the sides). Best TH-cam video I've watched in a while.

It’s great to watch when winding down at night. Fun, engaging, not exactly stimulating but not boring, and a soothing voice to top it off.

Gordon Ramsay isnt some god - May was certainly very talented to beat someone regarded to be pretty good at cooking. Ramsay is just good at being a bully who is somewhat good at cooking.

Never wouldve thought that i would watch a 25 minute long video of a man heating up spam and canned beans.
But i did and genuinely enjoyed it.

James treats Lucy like a daughter. In a good way you can see they are mates.
Agree their interactions are like father and daughter not like employer and employee.
there's that absolutely lovely moment during Lucy's cheap travel series where she phones him when she's stuck somewhere, and the first things he asks are "Are you okay? Do you need more money?" 😂 It was so peak dad. Is it known if James has kids of his own? I know he's the most reclusive in terms of his private life.
@@AccAkut1987 Nope. No kids. He just said it was him being a late developer and a result of his life likely with his careers. So no we probably wouldn't hear about any of his offspring. He did say he enjoys working with the younger people and spending time with his family. So you definitely saw that part of James.

He should do an episode guest starring Ashens, only using ingredients bought from a discount store
To make it a real Ashens experience, all the ingredients used would have to have been expired for many years.

James, a tip for pouring something out of a bowl is pour it down a chopstick or something. Less of it will run down the side of the bowl.
What a fabulous cooking show, wonderful recipes, and Lucy seemed to like everything.

I realised during lockdown I would watch James May do literally anything.
I watched him assemble a bicycle for a friend’s kid in his garage and laughed the whole time. It was a two video series and I watched them both.
Absolutely brilliant! Honestly its the best thing I've watched on TH-cam for ages! James is such a natural, love the way Will interjects and gets involved, then Lucy at the end! Pure genius! I'm going to get the missing ingredients that I don't have to hand, and get my children involved in making this excellent arrangement of ingredients! Thank you for bringing this to the masses, we didn't know we needed this, but we really do!
i know someone who cant eat gluten or eggs and i've used potato flakes before to make them meatballs/meatloaf. works quite well.

James May is among many other things, a renowned culinary expert who once beat Gordon Ramsay in a cook off. There is no way some AI would best him.
I have never been a chef (neither a cook) but this videos makes me interested in experimenting cooking

I think I’ve watched most of the ‘bugout bunker’ stuff now, and what bothers me more isn’t the ever changing Lurpak date, the ‘like, comment, subscribe’ or the food, but the fact there are either breakers tripped or of different manufacturer in the consumer unit behind James. I feel I now need to know more and think it deserves an episode.

Lucy did a video about a day in her life, and that was included. The real Hindenburg rights were very expensive, so she went with the AI. Went well with the general theme, of course.

My main takeaway from these videos (which are more entertaining than I'd have imagined) is that James -of the May variety- cannot, and will not, know how to cook! Some people would take these recipes (AI generated & James' own) and prepare them using the same ingredients and using a similar process but with a Tiny Bit of Care and Attention to Detail could make all the difference in the world!
Also love the bit where James suggested your 'kitchen' is in any way a place to use the well known phrase "too many cooks ...." whilst not having Any cooks in the vicinity. True comedy 🤣
Lucy, I wish there was show on Amazon where you and James compete against each on tasks and challenges (Young Vs Old sort of thing). I would definitely watch that.
