But, I can really relate to the NyQuil aspect because that's happened to me and I felt the same as you described. A belated welcome back to you. I really enjoy your content!
I did the same thing one time I was I was like jet-lagged I was tired though but I couldn't sleep so I did the same thing you did I went to the store and I bought this supposedly sleep help or sleep aid and then I got depressed all damn night and all day couldn't sleep and I told myself I would never ever take this drug again and I haven't I did not like that feeling whatsoever looking forward to watching this video peace out and I'll talk to you later but P.S. every veteran has an strategy when they enter a place or environment. where is the liquor? where is the pisser? who do I have to kill to get back to the exit. PTSD is a helluva condition. And the VA has plenty of places to relax

As far as I'm aware, its not so much that insane asylums were shut down. Its more that they were reformed. In the UK we still have mental health hospitals or secure units. There are locks on the doors for public and patient safety. But its more of a holistic approach to help people recover, rather than simply detaining people.
You should check out( if you haven't already)this comic Sam Kinison whose m.o was his scream( could have been a Bill Burr influence)unfortunately he had a short career but the clips available on TH-cam show him off to good effect- you'll enjoy him

I love talking to homeless people who are crazy. I do security and run into a lot of em and they just talk about random shit. Since I’m outta my mind too I can relate to them so I just indulge their craziness and talk about how fish don’t stink underwater or if God has feet. Then they just shuffle off and go on about thier day. Mostly harmless.

I think what Bill was talking about when he says, "Eggs Benedict" is how some homeless people who have mental problems are outside arguing with no one while patrons who are eating breakfast at an outdoor café pretend not see them.
I distribute PBJ sandwiches, water and hand wipes to homeless folks and haven’t had a bad experience yet. It’s amazing to witness the change in people when food and water are available. It’s rewarding and depressing at the same time because I never have enough food. Avoid tent cities, most people aren’t friendly and want money.
When asked for a dollar for food, I say look, I don't care if it's for food or whatever, here's some money, do what is right for you.
I try to help people. Mostly it helps.
7 hrs of sleep is well in the range of what a healthy dose of sleep is! Don´t beat yourself up! Sometimes the rhythm gets fücked ..

Most times when a homeless person asks me for money,I read the situation based on my life experience with them,then I decide. If they appear to be someone who just ended up in a bad place,I'll help them with either a few bucks or food,mostly food. But if they're someone I can see is just a complete fuck up,well...
Gummies ma'am. From my teenage years I had insomnia via the state and doctors. And I can't and won't later take sleeping pills....so I went 18 pack for 15 years....can't do weed...at all it gets the skitzo thing kicking in me BUT the gummies NO problem and saved at least 10 percent of my liver

I’m going through the exact same thing with the sleep …. I go through this every 6 months or so.. I took NyQuil, 2 edibles and still won’t knock me out… Best thing to do if you wake up at 2 is to just tuff it out and stay up till at least 9 or 10 and drug yourself again the next night.. kind of resets the system.. THEN again what the FUck do I know I’m not a dr.:🤷🏽♂️

Was walking from the CVS to the library today when this person who was down on her luck asked me if I could give her a dollar. Now there's still a pandemic going on, so I rarely carry any forms of currency. But there were people watching. Thus, I checked my pockets and managed to find .99 cents. So, I handed to her every cent I had. She had a look on her face like I'd just spat in her hand. Like "How dare you come up a penny short of what I was begging for!" From now on, I'm just gonna cross the street. At least that way a better grade of people will be disgusted with me.

I won't give a homeless person money but i'll buy them a meal if they need to eat. Done that probably a dozen times.
Not sure about other countries but in Oz there is no reason to be homeless. Government will give you enough to eat and have a roof over your head..not saying your eating good or staying in a nice place but there is no reason to beg if your just down on your luck. Mostly it's drug and/or mental health keeping people living rough.

I purchased a $60 tank of gas for a ww2 veteran a few weeks ago and I was in a boot store a few days ago and bought a Iraqi freedom veteran a pair of boots that he wanted for $170 bucks..
