Okay, that camera riser and dummy battery connected to battery bank tip was amazing! Simple, but it's the small things that we all tend to overlook! Thank you for the review! I can't wait to bust out my Fuji X-T200 for some more shots this summer!
It's worth going on photo walks if you already don't, even locally. It's a slow process, but photographing the same area constantly helped train my eye a lot over the years.
Just want to say a huge thank you for all the content you put out there for the Fujifilm X-T200. I've been having a hard time working out which camera is right for me as a first time buyer and you've covered this extremely well in all the areas that someone like me cares about. You've convinced me to take the plunge and I've just ordered one + a couple of these accessories too. One extra question if I may: I'm also going to use this for some Zoom calls to improve my video quality and was wondering if there was any limits to using the camera with the dummy battery (such as overheating etc). At the moment I am using a Sony Handycam (720p) via HDMI capture but it cuts out after about 2 hours and I occasionally have 3 hour meetings, it suck when I have to switch back to webcam... :(
Honestly put it all out there because it's info I was looking for when making my first purchase years ago, so I'm happy to hear you've benefited from it, as rough as it is, lol. Regarding the webcam use, the longest meeting I've used it in so far has been my job's town hall meeting a week ago, and that baby clocked in at 2.5 hours. No issues with it, but keep in mind I was using the webcam feature they released for free with the firmware update, not via camlink or hdmi. I think the output there is 1080p30 from what I could tell. It was definitely a flex on everyone else in the meeting, lol.
@@omarknowsphotos it's not rough at all, very professional IMO. That's fantastic to hear thanks for taking the time out of your day to reply. I'll make sure to use the webcam feature for my longer meetings. Hope you have a great Christmas and 2021 :)
Hi Omar, just to make sure that you put the right link for the wireless remote shutter, because it's for the canon camera. I am now finding wireless remote for my fujifilm xt-200, but the remote in the link is sold out😔. And, also if I use the wireless shutter, can i also use lightning at the same time, because lightning also needs a receiver to be put on camera, either the wireless shutter. Thankyou for the video, it helps a lot🥰.
It's the same connector, but you will need the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter or (what I did) different cable like this: amzn.to/3N2FXxr If you scroll down, you'll see that the seller says what cameras are compatible with which connectors. Pretty much all wireless shutters will work so long a they have the release feature through a trs cable
I think you're the only youtuber that uploads useful content about this camera, I wanted to ask you why would you recommend this xt 200 over the Canon m50.. I'm a beginner looking for good photos and some light twitch streaming on the side. Thank you :)
I like to help people not spend as much as I did starting out 😂 I like this camera over the M50 because the colors are more accurate for photo, the 4k is actually good (terrible on the M50 unless you manual focus and leave it mounted to a tripod) and any lens you buy for the x-t200 can be taken with you to one of the higher end models down the line whereas the M50's lens ecosystem is quite limited without an EF adapter. The Fuji-X lenses are also lighter and less expensive than their EF counterparts because they're all designed for the same mount and sensor size. The lens ecosystem is a big part of why I recommend the X-T200 over the M50, but it still wins out in an apples to apples comparison of the two.
@@omarknowsphotos great explanation, how is the autofocus compared to the M50 in pictures and video(1080p)? I do have an M50 which I bought 2 days ago but im testing it until the fuji xt200 arrives (backordered at the moment) so I can compare em both

So strange that the X-T200 came and went so fast. I bought a new "white box" version on eBay that hasn't arrived yet for $640 body only - so not any kind of bargain. Still, less than any other Fujifilm camera body new, and I'm really interested in that 16:9/3.5" back screen for video work. Thanks for posting this X-T200 content!
Anytime. My theory is that they didn't want to cannibalize the sales of the xs10, but even then I'm not 100% certain. The LCD screen needs to go on another one of their cameras at some point. I gave mine to a family member and definitely miss it solely for that.
Hi! regarding with the link associated with the dummy battery, xt200 doesnt show on the list of compatible models. May i know, if that link you provided is compatible for xt200? Thank you
Hi, and yes! It works with the x-t200 and I believe any similar unit will work as well. They probably don't list it because they just use the same copy/paste comparability list for all x trans cameras
Just subscribed! Thanks so much for the video, I learned a ton! I just ordered this camera yesterday. I tried the x-a7, but decided I wanted the evf and 120fps slow mo, better grip, etc. I actually ended up paying $479 for it brand new! Samy's Camera had a sale for 500 plus they paid the tax. And somehow it showed that the tax was ~$33, but they were giving me back ~$53. Also is the hdr video any good? From what I heard it records two streams of 1080p 30 video at dif exposures and combines them. Not quite 10-bit 4:2:2, but sounds pretty cool for an entry-level camera! One quick suggestion though -lower the volume of the background music. Not bad music, but because it was so loud compared to your voice track it got a little distracting.
After this video I actually started looking into how to mix audio properly, because I noticed the same thing about the music after watching it. I typically only shoot short-form content so it was never an issue to watch through 45-60 seconds and adjust, but clearly these longer videos need a bit more knowledge there, lol. That's a killer deal for the camera by the way! I personally cannot stand the HDR on any cameras. Phones have a lot more processing power and it generally looks better there, but even there I'm kind of iffy on it so it's definitely a personal preference thing. My friend who also bought the camera around the same time I did shoots only in HDR, so it's likely just going to be dependent on how you like the look. Be prepared to be disappointed by every other camera screen you'll ever use after getting it. I still cannot believe a small consumer camera has the best screen I've ever used.
Thanks so much for the reply! Sorry to bother you again, but I'm taking a look at some of the f/2 and f/1.4 primes, most specifically the 35mm. I would love the shorter DOF of the 1.4's, but I've heard the focussing is MUCH slower than the f/2's. Just based on the aperture alone there would already be a difference, but I would love your thoughts if you have any! Is it really that bad? Have you tried both? Thanks!

Love your videos and reviews of the fuji xt200, and now I would love to have a detailed video of how to use the xt200 with vintage legacy lenses, which of course, cannot communicate with the xt200, so I would like to know - in detail - how to set up the xt200 for manual operation with legacy SLR lenses. -- Thanks. PS: I'm an old photographer of the 60's, 70's, and 80s using SLRs that only had a light meter in them and the photographer did all the rest. Got very good at that and so would like to do that with today's digital camera.
Funny you mention that. I shoot most of my product videos using legacy lenses, specifically Canon FD lenses. I'm swamped with other obligations at the moment but that seems like a really fun video to make. As a video-first guy, I don't use a light meter for exposure, but it I can find one cheap enough I'll pick it up for that video since I've been wanting one for a while anyway. Keep your eyes peeled.
@@omarknowsphotos I'm the opposite; serious about photos and just play with video a bit, so I'm particularly interested in the ins and outs of using the xt200 manually with legacy lenses for photo shoots. I'll leave the external hand held light meters to professional studio photographers. Look forward to seeing the video on using the xt200 manually with legacy lenses. ---Thanks.
None are compatible with the trigger release function to my knowledge, but I'm not sure if the standard 2.5mm release will work or not. That could be the only avenue for this here.
I have a question. I don't know if it is normal but I recently bought a fuji X-t200 and everything worked normally but I kept hearing a buzzing/humming continous sound coming from the lens. If I took the lens off, the sound would be no more. Is it normal for this camera?

Hey , I have few questions if you don’t mind answering them 😅 iam a beginner I used to shoot with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I really liked the quality , but I really wanted a camera but since I am a beginner, internet advices recommend me this camera so I bought it , but I don’t really like the quality iPhone quality is way more better , but as I told you before I don’t know much about photography so I’m really confused, can I make the quality better ?
Define what “quality” is for you. I find that a lot of people tend to have issues exposing with a camera when they first get one and it took me a while to teach friends who made the switch enough to begin taking better photos. Feel free to shoot a few examples over my way on IG at my username @rimawimedia if that makes explaining things easier for you.
@@omarknowsphotos oh thanks for answering I checked your insta your works are amazing but for the quality my camera quality it’s like a Samsung one ( not an insult for Samsung, but it’s like a filter it doesn’t shot with a good quality I don’t know how to describe it to you )
@@joylvsu772 some of those photos were taken with the xt200 on my page. The image quality is superior to phones, but you'll need to learn how to use manual mode for the full benefit, then how to edit raw photos in time.
@@omarknowsphotos oh right , actually when I put the manual mode I see the raw-fine mode etc but I can’t select them , I don’t know why it doesn’t work ( I’m really sorry if I’m bothering you it’s just that I really want to improve) and the girl with blond hair that shot was amazing is that with the xt200
Do you notice a lot of flaring when you shoot? XC lenses don't have traditional lens hoods. They use the screw-in kind like you would on the X100 series cameras and I think there are only aftermarket options at that filter thread size. JJC and similar brands sell them for under $20usd if anything.
Correct. I don't know why you can't just connect any Bluetooth shutter release directly to these cameras like you would a phone. It would make so many things a lot easier.
Can you pls tell me the exact size of the kit lens(I'm looking at 3rd party nd filters) and I need the lens dia so that I can get the perfect fit. And also, you made my decision to go with fuji way easier! Thanks a ton!!
Ok so... It has been 3 months so i'll like to think you found your answer somewhere else but! I wanted to help anyways. First i checked online to see if anyone it wrote down and i couldn't found the dia, everybody was talking about its length. So, as a X-T200 owner myself, i tried to measure it myself. Its dia is somewhere between 5.3-5.4 cm long. If i was looking buying one, i would go with 5.4. So um... Yeah. I hope have already found the nd filter you were looking for and if you haven't... I hope, i have been useful.
@@wejournalgreatsports as long as your power source lasts. You can plug it into an outlet or a USB power bank and those will be what actually powers it.
My personal favorite is the 16mm F1.4, but getting a light will make the quality of your video with any lens much better than a new lens would. I spent so much money on lenses when I really needed lights when I started out. Learn from my mistakes 😅
I recorded over 2 hours with no issues at full hd, but one commenter in Thailand if I'm remembering right said that had issues. It's going to be relative to your environment.
Just to confirm I never got my ronin RS2 to control my xt200 (even have the dji remote shutter cable for Fuji cameras). could not initiate a record or shutter release.
@@omarknowsphotos yup the camera detect that something is plugged in the 3.5mm Jack, and I do set to remote shutter. Does your Ronin trigger the shutter release? It could just be the RS2 is not compatible...
@@r.in.shibuya I have the old Ronin and just took a look at DJI's website. It doesn't list the xt200 as being compatible, but the xt20 and 30 are so that's super weird to me that it doesn't work. Sorry man! I dealt with this issue with the original Ronin too. It took dji over a year to update their firmware to be compatible with Fuji cameras.
That remote trigger looks like it's connected with a 2.5mm jack in both ends, so I'd rather look for a 2.5 to 3.5 cable so I won't have that adapter sticking so far out to the side.
Thanks for sharing! Does the internal mic still work after plug in the wireless shutter release cable? Does this camera have overheated problem? I wish to have 16mm f1.4 lens on Fuji camera, but it is about $1000 . Sigma makes much cheaper 16mm F1.4 lenses, but only for canon and Sony.
Rumor has it that sigma is bringing those lenses over to Fuji next year! The kit lens is honestly pretty good for what it is though, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. I'm pretty sure the internal mic still works with the remote shutter plugged in, but I'll double check it after work. People in hot climates have had regular overheating problems. India, Thailand, and Fiji. I live in Washington DC and have had 4k overheat after recording for over an hour with no break as a stress test and it never overheated in 1080p. All cameras are compromises, but at that price point I really think it's the best option around at the moment. I'll come back to this thread about the shutter release question later today!

That's awesome! Feel free to drop any questions you have! Plugging it into a computer has it go into webcam mode automatically. It's essentially full auto like your standard webcam, just much better quality. With a capture card, you get full video controls. Basically if I wanted to, I could stream with a capture card and it'll look exactly like it does in this video. Very high quality, but taxing. Honestly only worth it if you're recording what you're streaming and your image onscreen is the central focal point of those videos.

I don't want to go back to hand-held light meters, which was the way it was done before innovation put the light meter inside SLR cameras - a big step forward in photography IMO. I'll leave the external hand held light meters to professional studio photographers.
Look forward to seeing the video on using the xt200 manually with legacy lenses.

Hi, could you please suggest a gimbal compatible with XT-200? Planning to buy DJI Ronin SC but found out that it's not compatible.
Thanks in advance.
None are compatible with the trigger release function to my knowledge, but I'm not sure if the standard 2.5mm release will work or not. That could be the only avenue for this here.
@@omarknowsphotos Hi, thanks for the quick response. Could you pls share any link regarding this standard 2.5mm release? This is new to me :)
Please can you tell me that can we shoot flat video in XT 200 for better flexibility in post ?
I have a question. I don't know if it is normal but I recently bought a fuji X-t200 and everything worked normally but I kept hearing a buzzing/humming continous sound coming from the lens. If I took the lens off, the sound would be no more.
Is it normal for this camera?
That's continuous autofocus mode, but it isn't really audible unless it's hunting. Is this for photo or video?
@@omarknowsphotos photo. And the sound was really audible. I sent it to warranty and i noticed that when i was going to send it that the lens mount had taken a hit so it already came defective. I didnt broke it because i only legit used the camera for 2 hours and kept hearing that sound
Hi, i have this xt200, looking for good gimbal for this, is Ronin Sc is compatible to this camera, pl tell me if its work or not.
I use it but keep in mind it does not have the shutter release feature. I don't think any gimbal does for some reason.
Hello i wanted 2 ask a question about it.does it overheat?
@@omarknowsphotos oh thanks for answering I checked your insta your works are amazing but for the quality my camera quality it’s like a Samsung one ( not an insult for Samsung, but it’s like a filter it doesn’t shot with a good quality I don’t know how to describe it to you )
And also witch camera you use it’s really cool
@@joylvsu772 some of those photos were taken with the xt200 on my page. The image quality is superior to phones, but you'll need to learn how to use manual mode for the full benefit, then how to edit raw photos in time.
@@omarknowsphotos oh right , actually when I put the manual mode I see the raw-fine mode etc but I can’t select them , I don’t know why it doesn’t work ( I’m really sorry if I’m bothering you it’s just that I really want to improve) and the girl with blond hair that shot was amazing is that with the xt200
Can you tell me what those red dangling things are on your camera? It's for a neck strap right?
Yeah. I use peak design straps on everything.
Hi Omar, for the 15-45 mm kitlens, which sunhood is best? I have ordered a couple of different hoods. Do I need the squarehood for a lens like this?
Do you notice a lot of flaring when you shoot? XC lenses don't have traditional lens hoods. They use the screw-in kind like you would on the X100 series cameras and I think there are only aftermarket options at that filter thread size. JJC and similar brands sell them for under $20usd if anything.
which len you are using for xt 200?
I have a bunch of Fujifilm lenses, so I use all of them.
Yayyy new video about xt200
If I use AODELAN Camera Remote Wireless Shutter Release, I cannot use any other external microphone such as RODE or Boya right?
Correct. I don't know why you can't just connect any Bluetooth shutter release directly to these cameras like you would a phone. It would make so many things a lot easier.
@@omarknowsphotos Thank you for replying : )
I hope, i have been useful.
thanks for this video bro
Anytime brother!
I’m looking for a battery grip. Are there any you can recommend?
They don't make them for this. Typically, companies only make them for their prosumer and above level cameras.
@@omarknowsphotos dang. So the dummy battery you used. How long does that generally last?
@@wejournalgreatsports as long as your power source lasts. You can plug it into an outlet or a USB power bank and those will be what actually powers it.
Great videos
What is the best lens for indoor videos pls?
My personal favorite is the 16mm F1.4, but getting a light will make the quality of your video with any lens much better than a new lens would. I spent so much money on lenses when I really needed lights when I started out. Learn from my mistakes 😅
@@omarknowsphotos
Yeah sure.. I bought xt200 last week with the kit lens
So I'm looking for the best useful lens to buy
Thanks for you're answer
@@Mouheb_Channel Nice! Are you planning on doing mostly talking head videos like I'm doing here?
@@omarknowsphotos
Yes something similar
Perfect lens then!
Does this have heating issues in Full hD mode?
I recorded over 2 hours with no issues at full hd, but one commenter in Thailand if I'm remembering right said that had issues. It's going to be relative to your environment.
@@omarknowsphotos thanks for replying
I cant find shutter speed menu in this camera, help me plz
It's the big knob on the left in video mode and the smallest one on the right in every other mode
@@omarknowsphotos tq so much
Nice content brother 👍
Just to confirm I never got my ronin RS2 to control my xt200 (even have the dji remote shutter cable for Fuji cameras). could not initiate a record or shutter release.
You don't have the HDMI trigger set to on most likely. It's off by default in the menu.
@@omarknowsphotos HDMI trigger, got it. Will take a look!
Sorry, I just saw the second half of your post. It should work provided it's in shutter release mode and not mic mode. Was that the case?
Damn the music really did get too loud after a few minutes in.
@@omarknowsphotos thanks!
@@omarknowsphotos does Fuji cameras can be remote shoot videos by a windows 10 computer? I am using a canon m50 which can stay on a tripod completely remote shoot videos, the live view on computer screen is big and clear, easy to control, i can only find a phone app remote Fuji cameras, the app is not good.
Trying to switch to fuji system if it is possible work for my shooting style. Please watch samples of my videos .

The xt200 doesnt have bluetooth?
It does. It's only used for data transfer though. 🤷♂️
Just picked this up for £480 in the UK more than the $500 you guys can get it for but still £70 of the lowest price in the UK last week
It's all relative, but I still wonder why there are consistent pricing differences out that way.
Any difference between connecting to a computer via USB c or by hdmi with a capture card? And thank you, noone is doing this content 🤣 first upgrade from a phone and I have no idea what I'm doing
TOP!
$500!?? Where!? The cheapest I seen was $699 w/ lens
Price went back up the day after Christmas. March is the end of the Japanese fiscal year and that's usually when the best sales of the year happen, so I'm assuming it'll drop back down again next month.
😍😍😍😍
5:30 Oh boy...!! So the built quality is not upto the mark..😶 I was so much into this cam. Disappointed.
Nah man, I definitely did something I knew I wasn't supposed to by mounting it to a plate without a camera riser and CRANKING that screw. It's plastic, same as any other camera at this price point.
That L bracket is crap. Just buy a $30 Chinese one that lets you open the battery and card door!
The only L-brackets that do that are model-specific (doesn't exist for this) or adjustable half-brackets, and those are about $90 and don't have built in arca-swiss plates.
