    I setup a fan blowing over the back of the camera with the screen out which successfully prevented overheating for me. It's less portable, but with the fan and camera (using the dummy battery) running from a powerbank it's still pretty doable.

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have tried to: turn the screen off, open the flash and battery lids, use dummy battery (although I suspect this was a poor quality one)... and still did not improve the results... never tried the fan method though... but wouldn't the fan sound spoil the audio?

      @@AleSuggests the fan would probably spoil audio captured from the camera's internal mics, for my uses I'm capturing audio separately, so this isn't an issue. The fan I'm using is a quiet PC fan at a speed that's inaudible from 1m+ in front of the camera. It doesn't seem like much airflow is actually needed. Most of the heat seems to come from the middle area under the screen, right behind the sensor. Extending the screen to the side helped, it would last a bit longer before shutting down, but, a small amount of airflow was enough to keep it cool enough to prevent even the warnings that start showing up quite quickly otherwise.

    My nikon D7000 died yesterday. Im thinking of buying this one because it fits my budgets perfectly. Should I go for it? I only use my cameras for pictures and a little bit of video.

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear about your D7000 :(
      If you take primarily pictures, and you don't plan to do a lot of videos in the near future, then I'd say yes the XT200 is a good call. And the added benefit is that if you, instead, start doing more videos at a later point, you can always upgrade to an X-S10 or X-T4 and have the advantage of the full lens compatibility between the systems.
      If you are willing to buy second hand, other models you may want to consider are: Sony a6400, Panasonic G85 / g9 / gh4 and Canon M50 mkii.
      I hope this helps.

      @@AleSuggests My first preference is Sony but its like 30k more ( Indian Prices), I love the xt-200 for the manual dials. Apparently, the left dial can be customised to use it as an ISO dial.

    Ale can you please suggest which one is best my use case is for photos and i will sing and play guitar and need a bokeh effect in vedio
    Can u suggest any camera below 900$
    Panasonic g85, m50 or xt200 ? Or any camera apart from these or i which one should pick from these?

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you filming yourself? How big is the environment in which you record? If the answer is "yes" and "small" pick a Sony. My choice would be a used Sony a6400 with an AF wide angle. But you won't have in body stabilization.
      Are you live-streaming? Or needing long time recording? Go with Panasonic. A used GH5 mk1 would be my choice, but otherwise G9, G85, or even G7 are fine, if budget and size are important for you. NOTE: that the GH6 will be out any time soon.
      Are the rooms in which you perform moderately sized? You do not need the greatest AF in the world? Nor the widest lens? Are 30 mins max of 4k enough? If "yes" is the answer at all, the Fuji X-S10 is your camera. Great pics, and great videos.
      X-T200 is great for pics, but I did not like it for videos.
      I would not get a Canon M50 because of the lenses' compatibility, but if you do wanna get one, take the M50 mk2 if you want to do streaming.
      A lot of choices there, so to summarise:
      X-S10: best all-rounder
      A6400: best autofocus
      GH5: best for long shootings
      Please consider that these are my very own opinions only, so take everything with a pinch of salt, but I hope it helps.
      Maybe let us know what you've chosen in the end :P
      Thanks for passing by ;)

    Im picking between xt200 and m50. I want to learn photography and do some short/indie films. But I heard that the 1080p for xt200 sucks. Do u have any samples? Is it good enough for making short films? I'm afraid when I go 4k I won't be able to edit it in my laptop

      M50 have a crop in 4k

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry about the delay.
      For pictures, the XT200 is fantastic! For video use, the m50 and the Xt200 are both really limited, and I wouldn't feel like recommending any of the two, particularly when shooting in 4k.
      Although, the real advantage of the XT200 would be that you can, at least, start out by doing some filming, and then upgrade the camera body in the future while keeping all your lenses. You could then move to an X-S10 (which will be my real recommendation).
      With the Canon, instead, you'd get stuck with EF-M lenses.
      Other things to consider:
      - Canon M50 has a strong crop in 4K
      - XT200 does not allow you to change contrast, saturation, etc. when in video mode
      I hope this helps, and thanks for passing by ;)

    Hi Ale, any particular reason you don't recommend the XT30 ?

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, Nadim. The XT30 has got a tilt screen, unfortunately, this solution isn't ideal for me.
      For this reason, I would rather suggest the X-S10, which is in a similar price range. The X-S10 would have: better grip, fully articulated screen, slower slow-motion, although being a bit heavier. Please mind that I never personally owned the XT30, so take all the above with a pinch of salt.
      I hope this helps anyway... and thanks for passing by ;)

For video use, both the m50 and the Xt200 are really limited, and I wouldn't feel like recommending any of the two, particularly when shooting in 4k. Although, the real advantage of the XT200 would be that you can start out and then upgrade the camera body in the future while keeping all your lenses if one day you move on to an X-S10, or superior... because all the lenses are compatible. With the Canon, you'd get stuck with EF-M lenses.
