I feel like having a camera as well built as the X100V is inherently valuable at least to me. The X100V feels on another level even from the X100F, it feels close in terms of build to a premium Leica or old style rangefinder camera, and switching between my Leica M6 and X100V feels natural. It feels much better built than even classic autofocus rangefinders like the Contax G2. The XT200 has a lot of features but feels almost like a toy.
The quality of the x100v is shit, mine stuffed up and wouldn’t focus after 2 weeks. Kept getting focus error and the lens motor is cooked. Disappointing with all the hype especially for $2000aud

Lok, Thanks for making this. Having started the journey into mirrorless world with yourself and Kai some years ago I have learnt to trust your judgement. Great stuff. Well done.
Somewhere in Fujifilm there is a designer with Lok's photo on his desk... 'We will make a camera for this man'. They are going to be so disappointed that they were so close. 🤣
It's a pity Fuji didn't continue with the XT100's tilty flippy screen especially on their higher end cameras. That's a feature I'm willing to shell out $$$.
@@thekidfromheck7482 my x-e2 has the 35 f2 lens on it pretty much 99% now, ridiculously great glass for bugger all money, not that slim either but im not one for walking around with a camera much these days!
Yup. I have the X-E2S with the 27mm pancake on it and it goes everywhere. Small, stealthy. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the lower resolution because sometimes I have to take the shot and crop in and my X-T3 gives me much more freedom to do that. Still... I bought my E2S for $250 and it produces $1000 images. Great little camera on the cheap.
YES. X-E2! 23mm f2 when I really want 35mm or 27mm 2.8 when I want to go super light and small. Still shoots wonderfully, ESPECIALLY at the current used prices!
3 unique/distinguishing features on the X100V... Leaf shutter, leaf shutter, leaf shutter. It sets me free from expensive high-speed sync equipment when I shoot outdoor portraits in challenging lighting, to light up the face and not blow out the distant background. I don't even care that much about the hybrid viewfinder (would've been just as happy with an EVF if Fuji gives me back a couple hundred dollars).
As a X-T100 owner I am seriously tempted by the X-T200. It seems to address all the problems I have with it. Like the completely useless tracking af and stupid tilt screen design. However the weather sealing on x100v is what would make me choose it. I wouldn't mind the 23mm fixed lens.
I just got the xt200. It's amazing because you can always buy more lenses for it. You could get a voigtlander nokton classic and maybe a 23mm prime with your xt200 for the price of the x100v. It just allows for a lot more flexibility
Love the X100 but the problem to me is the lens, that focal length is so similar to a smartphone camera. Love the fuji colors tho and its very nice that they improved on the production quality. I think this is fuji really listening to their community many people love it and they are not lazy but improve it even further i think that is just beautiful. And in general, a better build quality and sleek design just makes you enjoy the camera more.
The X100TV is probably “the” street camera. The lens is recalculated and topped the already superb predecessor, it has a central shutter (leaf shutter) for that flash sync without need of HSS up to 1/2000 or even 1/4000 a dream for wedding/couple/portrait photography shooting flash against the sun aperture wide open. The 23mm APS-C are crop equivalent 35mm full frame, so it’s a do it all focal length (except hardcore sports, wildlife, birds in flight etc. where I recommend a 400mm at least) 😉
You get it. I was amazed the leaf shutter wasn't even mentioned in DPReview's review - it is THE reason I want this camera. Since it's hypersync capable, and has the 4 stop ND filter, I will settle for no other camera. I aim to do great things with it!
Thanks for the wideo LoK... we love you and please stay home/stay safe. P.s: it is really annoying that autocorrect makes your name lol whenever I type lok. 😂
Lok finally found someone on the same page as I am regarding the screen of the Xt-200. I really thought that the tilt&front facing hybrid screen of the Xt-100 was the best approach to address the needs of both photographers and videographers. It's such a shame that Fujifilm didn't continue it and implemented it to their new cameras (like the Xt-4) I mean the new vari angle screen is good but that Tilt & Front Facing hybrid is more unique and BETTER. 🤔
This is a good way to do videos for Both of your channels. You have a Mask! Just do a Voiceover in 2 languages since nobody can see your mouth 😷😎 haha ... Time saver :)
I have the same issues when trying to compose with the back of the screen. For me a viewfinder is a must on any camera. The screen on this new 100v will be good for low compositions and waist shooting. Good video lok
I also actually prefer the old rear thumb wheel and power switch being next to the shutter button as well. Using that thumb wheel during manual focus check is a godsend..
Lok, I want a fixed lense Fuji for street and family photos...I want it simple and portable. Do you think Fuji x70 is good or what other camera do you suggest?
I'm really enjoying my X-T200 for both video and photos. The digital gimbal mode is garbage but I am hoping they fix it with a firmware update. Thanks so much for the video. I'm going to set the left dial to ISO thanks for that tip. Cheers.
