2. Sharing things with them that you normally wouldn't just share with everyone. Eg: Your dreams. Sharing is reciprocated. And that's awesome

Becoming friends first is an absolute if you are interested in dating them. You must first lay the foundation of a friendship because if it turns into a romantic relationship and you haven't become friends, when the romantic feelings go away you will have nothing left. I must say, these things are quite useful.
I've realised that when myself and the person I like met I felt no real connection or interest in her.
I saw her as a family member in my church and from there.
We serve together in the youth ministry and in the church aswell.
This interest in her came along very recently and very suddenly.
I just started seeing her so differently from how I first saw her.
We are good friends already and I thought about making our friendship closer and more deep and just getting to know one another a lot more, and more often too.
I always start of genuinely interest but then I get annoyed when they keep going on and on about themselves and never ask about me 🤓

I've been watching a lot of your videos lately and I feel like they're very straight forward and common sense but I love the reminder. Iv tried the building connection. Over text or in letters.getting to know the person. Sharing with him my life. That has lead me to Jesus. Personal things. Its been almost a year since I have confine in someone. Sharing trying to get to know someone. Cause the one I first was texting for months. Decided it was to soon for him. Now I feel as if I half to start all back over again. I'm the type of person I want you to see my flaws an I want to know yours. An we can help each other. An build together in are faith,prayer. Bummer...I told a male aquantance that my friends and family member where dying some expected some not. Probably not the best to mention. But I also told him I moved to a new city had a new job ECT. I told him all that bc he asked me how about you? I thought he asked me how are you (🤣). We both were volunteers but he had to stop bc health problems and I asked him if he was still volunteering before he told he wasn't. He took it really well even though I kinda spilled my guts. He's a nice guy.

With most of society being a consumer-oriented society, what about the intimacy that can and should occur when a husband and wife create/produce something original together? Then they can profit together, and maybe that produce of their work together can be used in the church, for ministry. And yes, children do fit in this, but I was originally thinking of a non romantic activity. Even as just friends, producing something unique together, in my opinion, can create deeper intimacy between two close friends who want to date, or are dating.

Great message mark i take all your info close to my heart i just moved to Auckland New Zealand from South Africa in last 6 months and i joined this church in my neighborhood and i started to like a girl there at the church and i face this problem because im a very shy person and have a fear of talking to girls because of a past situation with builying to get to the point she started talking to me first the first time i joined the church and ive talked to her at young adults hang out after church and a few times through facebook the problem is she has a twin brother that im really good friends with though he is so protective over her and they cant live with out each other they go everywhere together and when im at hang outs he is always watch or listening when i talk to her i feel like if God brings a girl down my path its for a reason or God would of given me a different girl as a friend i have no intention to be in a relationship yet though i want to stay friends with her and some where down the line be in arelationship if things go well though at this stage im trusting God and studying the bible on relationship and marriage we have things in common and get along quiet well im hopeing that her brother either accepts my friendship with her and understands there is nothing going on because i feel like every time i want to talk to her or hang with her at group hang outs i must by pass him and get his permission and i dont want to mess up my friendship with her brother as well what do i do because this is the first girl ive ever meet and ive ever had a connection with. Only if some girls were humble enough to give respect and reply back to guys, i would have been somewhere else. Could serving together mean working in the same place, on the same shift together? Maybe both serving customers at the same time. Lol
How do you connect and build relationships if you just don't have time or find not time for longer conversations. Because often there are other people or activities in the way. Should you just see it that it's not God's timing? Or should you be more bold and walk up to them even if it means this will come across like you're interested in them? but also, I would only feel desperate if I'd do that. I prefer when conversations come naturally.

Well I think there is something important about time, it's a really limited resource, so a good thing is learning how to use it wisely and there is time for everything, but maybe we are trying to do so many things (even if they all are good) that there is no space for something else (like have long conversations, meaningful friendships and etc.)
A short conversation could create a good connection in the way that you can get more interested (and they as well) in trying to talk again, even in the middle of a bunch of people. We usually force some things that we want to happen, like talk with someone more than just a normal conversation, as you said, when it comes naturally it's awesome, but I don't think it is something wrong if you say hello and stuff, just be relaxed about it and talk... How would you make new friends in a new place without talking to them? How could I even try to give you a new perspective about this topic if I don't comment on? hehe (Just a couple of thoughts and I always remember there are a lot of different approaches because of cultural contexts, so take whatever you think is good and the rest is just not useful haha)

First off, it's not you. Don't take it personal. At all. He made it clear that he's not ready. He won't be ready for anyone until he's moved on - hopefully by learning to be comfortable with being alone before dating someone new. It's never a good idea to pursue someone who still has feelings for someone else. To do so would be choosing your will over God's will. God is certainly not going to send love your way in the form of being someone else's rebound. Leave this man be for now. Stop romanticizing the thought of him. Continue living your life before he came along. Later down the road, who knows? God's timing. Not ours 😘

Depends which app you use I would say. Tinder for example wouldn’t be the greatest place to meet someone with your values. Match.com or eharmony could be better since you can filter for what you’re looking for

Hi like your videos and advice, would like your input struggling, met a lady through her fathers introduction she and I hit it off had a positive relationship started however she told me from the start she had been divorced for 5 years from her 2nd cheating EX for the last 5 years but was stand in Gods word for his return, he would return she has been truthful nice about it? I have been divorced 2 times also from my 2nd cheating spouse for 1 year. We did not know each other at all before my divorce. I told her I understood and we have become friend very good friends my what I thought was my girlfriend. That I was thinking we where head forward in a great direction. Then 2 day before Easter she with alot of tears and crying told me she had tried but had not got a release from God to move on and she was going to stand for the return of her 2nd EX and she wanted me to find happiness that I was a wonderful man I had done nothing wrong it was she felt she had lost her with in Gods will, and she wanted for me and after a year of dating she said please stop, and don't show up at my house anymore. We never argued etc. Can you help from Gods. Heart broke.

The next steps surely can be taken slowly by letting the other person learn to know you and building up trust and mutuality. But hiding and having a second agenda is no good advice

I don't know if serving together in times of hardship always brings two people closer together. I think there would have to be some kind of affinity for each other in the first place. Serving on a mission field can also intensify things to the point where you could end up disliking each other more because you're having to put up with each other's faults. And also the devil is likely to play on these things and spiritually attack you so that it is all magnified. When you come away from a mission, you could be breathing a sigh of relief and be glad not to have to spend so much time with the other person anymore, even if you did entrust your life into their hands. I definitely wouldn't go on a mission to try to get to know someone you like better anyway. I think that could be a recipe for disaster. If there happens to be another person you get to know and end up liking, that's a different matter.
