So if we have lights staying on and think its the micro power module if we disconect the micro power module and the lights stay on does that rule that out?

I have BMW650I 2007 all of a sudden after being out, tried to switch the car BUT the ignition won’t start. The car stayed at the garage overnight. The garage told me it’s a battery 🪫 issues. Had the battery replaced on warranty while the car was running. Switched the ignition off tried to switch the car on BUT it won’t start. I knew it wasn’t the battery. Took the car again on trailer to the same garage. He told me it’s the battery 🪫 again. Tried switching the car after trying it started. Decided to take the car home. I watched your video specifically focusing on the fob Keys battery. I always keep spare batteries at home. SO I replaced the fob key battery. Since no issues SO far. Keeping my fingers cross. I was considering the IVM supply power unit. SO far so good. Thank you SO much for identifying the fob key battery. The car with NO starting issues so far for the last four weeks. However am making sure the auto headlights are off during the daytime. Am checking the gear box sticker light it goes off after a while. One thing I would like to share Re electrical modular. When I switch the car off I could hear some noise in the dashboard passenger side. I am assuming it’s the IVM modular. The climate is extremely hot sometimes 48c during summer. Hope my contribution would help others to diagnose the issue by simple steps. The fob key battery 🪫 cost £2 very easy to replace, no need for programming whatsoever. The main car battery 🪫 cost around £150. These simple steps are important. 🙏

Check your IVM module. that fixed my problem with my 750 Li E66.. Change it and my car was like a new one.. I made a lot of searching to find the problem, best of all its easy to change and you don't have to code it.
How about a clutch switch for the manual cars? I have a no start issue, but I can push start the car. No clicking on attempt. So I'm thinking I have a clutch pedal switch issue. Do these cars have one?

Here in the States, daughters 06 325i e90, she drove car to her brothers no problem, went to leave, now it won't crank. Guess I'll check DME for moisture. Fob works for entry and such. Battery checked out, now a little worried, the kids tried to jump it under the hood with no improvements, hoping whatever the issue is, maybe protected the system from damage, fingers crossed.
HOPE U SEE THIS You most def you yo shi dawgy, i got a question i got a 06 235i was running good and all parked it one night next morning didn’t wanna turn on, I would but key in and only light would come on break paddle was hard as well. I went and replaced my realy, 4, number 5 amp fuses and 2 big green 30 amp fues and it fired up was running it the whole day all good it was even running better then before 100%, night time comes I park it, morning comes and it don’t start up again, just doing basically the same thing as this car I put my key in no crank just lights come on and break paddle is hard still, it’s a push to start as well HOPE U SEE THIS DAWGY OR SOMEONE
Hey I have a 2005 e90 330i bmw, sometimes after I have reached my destination and I'm about to turn off I would press the start button once and everything would blank out and in 3-5 seconds reboot. I can now press it again and it will turn off.
I also had the no start problem and I did all of the above jump start options lucky I haven't had anything fried, that I have noticed. But it was a matter of a cable being slack in that little box under the hood. The cable leads to the starter and it was slack. After I tightened it back it started and I never had that issue. Hi! We have the same problem on our BMW (E61 525d, 2005) where the car is cranking but not starting at all. We already tried changing: fuel filter, DDE power relay (the blue one), crankshaft sensor, and fuel pressure sensor. I really need help cause I cant think of anything other that could be the cause of cranking but not starting. When we start the car, all of the control lights come up. We also bought and installed a new battery. Thank you in advance for your help, if possible!

i have problem no crank no start. bmw 520d -08/ make inpa diagnostic have aoc1 50 contact and aoc250 rs low something (i cant remember).. The ground strap new, starter solenoid new, no water in the ecu all contact is good/ when try to start (push start) something clicks under the dashboard and then quite. what i must do next i dont know.. i call the taxi let the car stay and go home. this car dont want to start/ it is raining.
Before you will know what is the problem right away even before the car breaks down either starter, alternator , fuel spark plugs etc. These days car manufacturers are all genius they put all these sensors and connectors everywhere and probably even to their asol. Nobody will be happy when your car is just 80k miles just running fine then suddenly it won’t start nor crank and bunch of warning signs without telling the exact problem and will cost a fortune to fix it and it just better end up in the junk yard where they supposed to be. So ridiculous genius asol. I’m wondering what will happen in the future when you drive a flying car and these genius car makers are getting more genius and put more sensors and connectors and probably on that time they will stick it into their inner asol and connect it to their mouth so they can taste the sucess.

Hi BMW doctor, Im from the US and I just recently bought a used 2006 E60. I had to replace a few minor things but hasn’t given me any big problems. However, when I put my key fob in the slot nothing happens, no crank, no start. The lights on my dashboard won’t even turn on. Now I thought it could be the CAS module under the steering wheel but wouldn’t I still be able to see dashboard lights? I don’t really know what it could be. Key fob works, new battery, and unlocks doors. If you have any tips, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Battery fine, but intermittent no start, happened first time a year ago, then 6 months ago, then 2 months ago, now 3 times in 2 days. Get lots of error messages on the display, last 3 times the windscreen wipers started working. Leave the car for 5 to 10 minutes and it starts and all is good. BMW 320D 2011 E90. Thanks.
Hello my friend, I have a question that has bothered me for several years. I have a BMW, e60, 2010 model. I noticed when I was walking on a mountain road for an hour, especially in the summer, and after stopping and turning off the engine, if I tried to turn the engine after a few minutes, I hit the predecessor and the engine does not rotate (it dings a little and then the rbm counter drops to zero) and I had to wait for about an hour for it to start again successfully, noting that there is no warning message on the screen and this I only noticed while walking on a mountain road uphill. My 06 bmw 750i starts fine in the morning but after warming up and a few trips around town it won’t start. I push the button and no crank or start. After about 30minutes of sitting it will start. Is my problem the IBS sensor?
Great videos brother I have simular problem with no crank no start but after 10min of trying its does start and then it's start everytime but if I leave the car over night and then try to start I have same problem. But it seems in hot weather it usually start quicker but in colder weather it take long time time start it. And also after day or two it shows low battery. Something is draining battery. My 06 550i wont start.. it wont let me turn on ignition 2,,, I put the key in and the radio and dash lights come on but when I push the start button it just cuts the car off instead of turning on the A/C.. Nothing happens..

I have a 2007 335i that ran perfectly i parked it and when i came back to the car it would crank but not start. Since then battery died nothing works of course. I hooked cables up to try and unlock steering wheel and put in neutral. But it won't read my key it won't turn over etc? I can't figure it out.
Not sure if you’ll even respond to this but I have an 06 e60 525 with the n52. No crank no start. All electronics turn on but if you turn the ignition, nothing happens. Any ideas?
6 month old bmw 730 battery ruined. Dash saying battery low power. Check crank and it was half the rated amount. So battery changed and new battery registered with bms to computer. Still no crank. Checked terminals when key turned and even circuit 50 works. Heard fuel heater causes drain. Anyway I reset transport mode because that was on. Still no crank. Will check starter relay for pin 87. See if can juice the starter solenoid and get it to crank. Its a diesel this car. Only fault codes now are blocked DPF but not sure if that would stop crank
I put a new battery on car and all it does it make a click sound when trying to start, 09 328i 3.0. It shows a red car on a lift, a ! and a lot of other lights so not sure what it going on, have not registered the battery yet, waiting on a scanner tool that will allow me. **Steering lock doesn't lock anymore on this car, would that be an issue?
Thanks for the video mate, didn't know about not jump starting, thats clutch. Got a no-crank on a E61. Happened mid drive, stalled it, couldn't get it started again. Starts without issue on a push start but not on a battery/starter pack. I connected power to the front terminals (low enough voltage to not fry anything) and no current was flowing so Im suspecting gnd connection or a relay. Any thoughts are appreciated

Ok so I was getting the transmission malfunction fault code coming up on my cluster and car kept going Into limp mode stuck in 3rd gear. I changed the crankshaft position sensor and now my car will not crank it will power up all the way but whe I hit the start button I get nothing at all. And advice of any kind would be amazing .

Hey I have a 2010 BMW 318i and the car was driving ok and starts ok, however I drove it about two Sundays ago and parked. The following morning I woke up to start it and warn the engine before I drove out, I got no crank no start but a symbol of a car sitting on a lift of some sort. The car opens and close (even tho it takes some time to sometimes) but just won’t start I changed the battery in the key fob but still nothing. I’m advised to reprogram the key but I’m iffy. Can you help Note: it shut off on me twice before while’s I was driving about 5mph but I started it back up by putting it in neutral.
@BMW Doctor I have a BMW e66 730d, all of a sudden it is generated the fault of not starting at all, key in prestatyn stop button foot on brake pedal nothing, error messages on the dashboard SOS call system failure!, Another message reads, safety system with a red logo of a man sat on a chair with a seat belt and an airbag, also buy radio doesn't work I cannot tune anything in at all etc, lots of things seem now not to be working, could this be the IVM?, OR DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS, apologies caps lock on, the battery on a car has been fully charged over 2 days, if it helps when I press the start stop button it does go duller, intermittently it will say on the dashboard press brake pedal to start, even though I do this it doesn't start, finally there is normally an audible beep noise when you put your key in the car, this is not even happening anymore. I did think starter motor has gone, ... But it is obvious now the system is stopping it from starting for whatever reason you seem to be an expert on TH-cam with regards to these cars, please could you give me your advice on what it could be, the car is now totally unusable until we can repair it, thanks so much in advance Rob from Yorkshire.

I have a 2006 325i and I was having a weird rpm fluctuation problem, usually when its warmed up, it would go down to like 350 - 400 rpms then it would shoot itself back up to about 1200rpms and it would continuously bounce up and down until i held the throttle down into high rpms. I changed the plugs and it got wayyyy better for about a month and now it wont even start and the battery is dead. im going to get a new battery, correctly code it, and start somewhere near the MAF sensor, since i had some fuel coming out at the fuel rail.. any tips are greatly appreciated.

I own a 2008 BMW 535xi, and last winter my car started having trouble turning over, and the clock and trip computer would reset, but it would turn over, now, after 8 months it’s back, but now my nav screen and Sirius xm will shut down and quickly cycle back on seemingly every 5 minutes or so. I found if I eject the Nav DVD the screen and Sirius will stop cycling. I bit the bullet and replaced the IBS Sensor and Adapter. First thing I did was drive it about 30 miles, stopped for around 10 minutes. I plugged my “BlueDriver” into the diagnostics and ran a 2 minute scan, then erased the 1 fault showing, then unplugged the device and started the car. The car barely turned over, and the Caution light was still showing up on the cluster and Nav screen, but quickly went away, but every subsequent start would do the same thing. Also, when installing the Nav DVD it went right back to turning on and off cycling again. I don’t know if replacing the IBS cable sensor did anything except reveal that at least the original problems didn’t go away. I was at least hoping my battery wouldn’t rapidly drain anymore, but unless 30 miles and 3 minutes on the diagnostics with only the ignition on, not the engine is too small of a sampling size to gauge weather my IBS sensor has fixed the rapid discharging? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!🥴
I have 650i 2006 and my car won't start sometimes , i think starter overheating might cause the problem because december , january and february were cold and everything was fine , now its getting warmer and problem comes back. If i go somewhere and turn off the car after an hour driving it might not start and i have to wait 15min or even 30 min. Can you tell your opinion?

HELLO we jumped this 2008 328i and now all the headlites, rearlights and dome lites are ON with car OFF..also car wont shift..is automatic..the guy also jumped the black relay under passenger glove box thought it was the starter relay but its a 4 prong black car access relay..so right after jumping car and this relay..all the lites stay on with car OFF and also it wont shift now..please help
Hey man how’s it could I please have your help. I just bought a bmw 330i 4wd 2006. It was fine and in mint condition. I drove it today and steering wheel was not straight wehn driving straight. Went to drive about an hour later and then it wouldn’t start. All of these lights came on. Window wipers won’t stop either
On an E65 66 the crank sensor failure WILL allow the car to crank over but it won’t start. It’s a very easy swap out. The E65 electrics are very different to this example. Probably a great video for a different model.

I replaced a battery and jumped on NCIS expert to change the capacity, but I keep getting a problem, it tells me the VIN failed. Like the software can't access the VIN number. Do you know why that is? The car still won't crank or start.
I'm having A issue with my 650i where the car will crank but it will not run. It's not throwing any codes on the reader but on the dash it's saying that tpm sensor is bad but also saying the passenger seat belt is malfunctioning which could be affecting the airbag. But that's the only indicators it's giving. What could cause it to crank and not run.? It's a 2006
@BmwDoctor Hi Dean I’m having an issue with my 2006 E60M5 I was cleaning out my car with the doors open all of a sudden the interior lights cut off… I shut all the doors and proceeded to start the car my SMG gear lever never illuminated. I always cut my car off and leave it in reverse so when I went to restart it my car was stuck in reverse and I can’t get the gear lever to light up now
Dean, BMW Doctor your knowledge is outstanding, I've got a battery discharge over a couple of nights it isn't flat but the cluster info zeros ie clock to zero, mpg ect all to zero with a warning car on lift, and battery discharge shows up in writing. Ive taken it to be checked and they say there is no fault. I would love you to have a look at it as I believe you would find the fault. You don't live anywhere near Sheffield do you.

I have 325i, 2007, E93 Convertible. I have been switching the engine on / off recently when idle on traffic lights trying to be environmentally friendly. The other day, I switched it off and didn't start back again, no crank. i called the AA, checked the battery 12.6, all lights are working fine, however, when i use the key to open the car, I don't hear it priming anymore. i checked fuse 15 is fine, KL 30 relay no corrosion or burn mark on it. What could it be please?
I’ve got an 2006 E90. Replaced the engine from an 07. Car would turn over but not start. Put the ecu and CAS from the donor where the engine came from and it starts but runs rough. I get errors that the vin doesn’t match. Is there a way to use my original ecu and CAS with this engine?

My 2011 328i had a power drain issue that killed the battery and during jumping off the battery I believe I fried the Footwell module because of no interior lights, no window movement, headlights constant on and tail light but no brake light. I am ordering a new module to fix that problem and charged the battery but now the car is wanting to start but it won't turn over. What do you think is the reason for it not starting?
So what does it mean if I have a intermittent start? It will start fine and run fine and then I drive it and get where I'm going and park it, go on about my business and when I go get back in and try to start it up all I can hear is a click under the hood, but after several attempts at whatever point it decides to start then it will start... this is beyond frustrating!!

Hope my contribution would help others to diagnose the issue by simple steps. The fob key battery 🪫 cost £2 very easy to replace, no need for programming whatsoever. The main car battery 🪫 cost around £150. These simple steps are important. 🙏

Check your IVM module. that fixed my problem with my 750 Li E66.. Change it and my car was like a new one.. I made a lot of searching to find the problem, best of all its easy to change and you don't have to code it.

How about a clutch switch for the manual cars? I have a no start issue, but I can push start the car. No clicking on attempt. So I'm thinking I have a clutch pedal switch issue. Do these cars have one?
Wow, were to start? Guess I have a nice check list to go through though, thanks. Here in the States, daughters 06 325i e90, she drove car to her brothers no problem, went to leave, now it won't crank. Guess I'll check DME for moisture. Fob works for entry and such. Battery checked out, now a little worried, the kids tried to jump it under the hood with no improvements, hoping whatever the issue is, maybe protected the system from damage, fingers crossed.

I would but key in and only light would come on break paddle was hard as well. I went and replaced my realy, 4, number 5 amp fuses and 2 big green 30 amp fues and it fired up was running it the whole day all good it was even running better then before 100%, night time comes I park it, morning comes and it don’t start up again, just doing basically the same thing as this car I put my key in no crank just lights come on and break paddle is hard still, it’s a push to start as well HOPE U SEE THIS DAWGY OR SOMEONE
Hey I have a 2005 e90 330i bmw, sometimes after I have reached my destination and I'm about to turn off I would press the start button once and everything would blank out and in 3-5 seconds reboot. I can now press it again and it will turn off.
I also had the no start problem and I did all of the above jump start options lucky I haven't had anything fried, that I have noticed. But it was a matter of a cable being slack in that little box under the hood. The cable leads to the starter and it was slack. After I tightened it back it started and I never had that issue. Thanks much again for these informative videos.

Hi! We have the same problem on our BMW (E61 525d, 2005) where the car is cranking but not starting at all. We already tried changing: fuel filter, DDE power relay (the blue one), crankshaft sensor, and fuel pressure sensor. I really need help cause I cant think of anything other that could be the cause of cranking but not starting. When we start the car, all of the control lights come up. We also bought and installed a new battery. Thank you in advance for your help, if possible!

i have problem no crank no start. bmw 520d -08/ make inpa diagnostic have aoc1 50 contact and aoc250 rs low something (i cant remember).. The ground strap new, starter solenoid new, no water in the ecu all contact is good/ when try to start (push start) something clicks under the dashboard and then quite. what i must do next i dont know.. i call the taxi let the car stay and go home. this car dont want to start/ it is raining.
Before you will know what is the problem right away even before the car breaks down either starter, alternator , fuel spark plugs etc. These days car manufacturers are all genius they put all these sensors and connectors everywhere and probably even to their asol. Nobody will be happy when your car is just 80k miles just running fine then suddenly it won’t start nor crank and bunch of warning signs without telling the exact problem and will cost a fortune to fix it and it just better end up in the junk yard where they supposed to be. So ridiculous genius asol. I’m wondering what will happen in the future when you drive a flying car and these genius car makers are getting more genius and put more sensors and connectors and probably on that time they will stick it into their inner asol and connect it to their mouth so they can taste the sucess.

Hi BMW doctor, Im from the US and I just recently bought a used 2006 E60. I had to replace a few minor things but hasn’t given me any big problems. However, when I put my key fob in the slot nothing happens, no crank, no start. The lights on my dashboard won’t even turn on. Now I thought it could be the CAS module under the steering wheel but wouldn’t I still be able to see dashboard lights? I don’t really know what it could be. Key fob works, new battery, and unlocks doors. If you have any tips, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Battery fine, but intermittent no start, happened first time a year ago, then 6 months ago, then 2 months ago, now 3 times in 2 days. Get lots of error messages on the display, last 3 times the windscreen wipers started working. Leave the car for 5 to 10 minutes and it starts and all is good. BMW 320D 2011 E90. Thanks.

Hello my friend, I have a question that has bothered me for several years. I have a BMW, e60, 2010 model. I noticed when I was walking on a mountain road for an hour, especially in the summer, and after stopping and turning off the engine, if I tried to turn the engine after a few minutes, I hit the predecessor and the engine does not rotate (it dings a little and then the rbm counter drops to zero) and I had to wait for about an hour for it to start again successfully, noting that there is no warning message on the screen and this I only noticed while walking on a mountain road uphill. Thank you very much

My 06 bmw 750i starts fine in the morning but after warming up and a few trips around town it won’t start. I push the button and no crank or start. After about 30minutes of sitting it will start. Is my problem the IBS sensor?

I have simular problem with no crank no start but after 10min of trying its does start and then it's start everytime but if I leave the car over night and then try to start I have same problem. But it seems in hot weather it usually start quicker but in colder weather it take long time time start it. And also after day or two it shows low battery. Something is draining battery.

I have disconnected the battery and charged it and put it back on,the same thing( fitted the new battery couple month ago)

I have a 2007 335i that ran perfectly i parked it and when i came back to the car it would crank but not start. Since then battery died nothing works of course. I hooked cables up to try and unlock steering wheel and put in neutral. But it won't read my key it won't turn over etc? I can't figure it out.

6 month old bmw 730 battery ruined. Dash saying battery low power. Check crank and it was half the rated amount. So battery changed and new battery registered with bms to computer.
Still no crank. Checked terminals when key turned and even circuit 50 works.
Heard fuel heater causes drain. Anyway I reset transport mode because that was on. Still no crank.
Will check starter relay for pin 87. See if can juice the starter solenoid and get it to crank. Its a diesel this car.
Only fault codes now are blocked DPF but not sure if that would stop crank
I put a new battery on car and all it does it make a click sound when trying to start, 09 328i 3.0. It shows a red car on a lift, a ! and a lot of other lights so not sure what it going on, have not registered the battery yet, waiting on a scanner tool that will allow me. **Steering lock doesn't lock anymore on this car, would that be an issue?

Got a no-crank on a E61. Happened mid drive, stalled it, couldn't get it started again. Starts without issue on a push start but not on a battery/starter pack.
I connected power to the front terminals (low enough voltage to not fry anything) and no current was flowing so Im suspecting gnd connection or a relay. Any thoughts are appreciated

Ok so I was getting the transmission malfunction fault code coming up on my cluster and car kept going Into limp mode stuck in 3rd gear. I changed the crankshaft position sensor and now my car will not crank it will power up all the way but whe I hit the start button I get nothing at all. And advice of any kind would be amazing .

Hey I have a 2010 BMW 318i and the car was driving ok and starts ok, however I drove it about two Sundays ago and parked. The following morning I woke up to start it and warn the engine before I drove out, I got no crank no start but a symbol of a car sitting on a lift of some sort. The car opens and close (even tho it takes some time to sometimes) but just won’t start I changed the battery in the key fob but still nothing. I’m advised to reprogram the key but I’m iffy. Can you help
Note: it shut off on me twice before while’s I was driving about 5mph but I started it back up by putting it in neutral.
My 2008 335i does not want to start, no crank from the motor all I hear is a humming sound which I believe that's the fuel pump.

@BMW Doctor I have a BMW e66 730d, all of a sudden it is generated the fault of not starting at all, key in prestatyn stop button foot on brake pedal nothing, error messages on the dashboard SOS call system failure!, Another message reads, safety system with a red logo of a man sat on a chair with a seat belt and an airbag, also buy radio doesn't work I cannot tune anything in at all etc, lots of things seem now not to be working, could this be the IVM?, OR DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS, apologies caps lock on, the battery on a car has been fully charged over 2 days, if it helps when I press the start stop button it does go duller, intermittently it will say on the dashboard press brake pedal to start, even though I do this it doesn't start, finally there is normally an audible beep noise when you put your key in the car, this is not even happening anymore.
I did think starter motor has gone, ... But it is obvious now the system is stopping it from starting for whatever reason you seem to be an expert on TH-cam with regards to these cars, please could you give me your advice on what it could be, the car is now totally unusable until we can repair it, thanks so much in advance Rob from Yorkshire.
I figure out whats wrong, don't get a BMW = BrandMightWork, too many electrical problems, water here there, dont jump start bad fuse.. why have a jumper terminal if we shouldn't use it if the problems will getting worse
I have a 2006 325i and I was having a weird rpm fluctuation problem, usually when its warmed up, it would go down to like 350 - 400 rpms then it would shoot itself back up to about 1200rpms and it would continuously bounce up and down until i held the throttle down into high rpms. I changed the plugs and it got wayyyy better for about a month and now it wont even start and the battery is dead. im going to get a new battery, correctly code it, and start somewhere near the MAF sensor, since i had some fuel coming out at the fuel rail.. any tips are greatly appreciated.

I own a 2008 BMW 535xi, and last winter my car started having trouble turning over, and the clock and trip computer would reset, but it would turn over, now, after 8 months it’s back, but now my nav screen and Sirius xm will shut down and quickly cycle back on seemingly every 5 minutes or so. I found if I eject the Nav DVD the screen and Sirius will stop cycling. I bit the bullet and replaced the IBS Sensor and Adapter. First thing I did was drive it about 30 miles, stopped for around 10 minutes. I plugged my “BlueDriver” into the diagnostics and ran a 2 minute scan, then erased the 1 fault showing, then unplugged the device and started the car. The car barely turned over, and the Caution light was still showing up on the cluster and Nav screen, but quickly went away, but every subsequent start would do the same thing. Also, when installing the Nav DVD it went right back to turning on and off cycling again. I don’t know if replacing the IBS cable sensor did anything except reveal that at least the original problems didn’t go away. I was at least hoping my battery wouldn’t rapidly drain anymore, but unless 30 miles and 3 minutes on the diagnostics with only the ignition on, not the engine is too small of a sampling size to gauge weather my IBS sensor has fixed the rapid discharging? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!🥴
I have 650i 2006 and my car won't start sometimes , i think starter overheating might cause the problem because december , january and february were cold and everything was fine , now its getting warmer and problem comes back. If i go somewhere and turn off the car after an hour driving it might not start and i have to wait 15min or even 30 min. Can you tell your opinion?

E60, probably the worst car ever made. Shocking engineering not made to last made to die after 10 years and be replaced. Sick of them. E39 last good car they ever made.
I have a no crank no start problem on my 2013 740 li. I had m1 pop up on the dashboard it told me don’t turn car off or it will not start back up. The automotive shop told me the motor is locked up which I don’t believe
HELLO we jumped this 2008 328i and now all the headlites, rearlights and dome lites are ON with car OFF..also car wont shift..is automatic..the guy also jumped the black relay under passenger glove box thought it was the starter relay but its a 4 prong black car access relay..so right after jumping car and this relay..all the lites stay on with car OFF and also it wont shift now..please help

On an E65 66 the crank sensor failure WILL allow the car to crank over but it won’t start. It’s a very easy swap out. The E65 electrics are very different to this example. Probably a great video for a different model.

I replaced a battery and jumped on NCIS expert to change the capacity, but I keep getting a problem, it tells me the VIN failed. Like the software can't access the VIN number. Do you know why that is? The car still won't crank or start.
I'm having A issue with my 650i where the car will crank but it will not run. It's not throwing any codes on the reader but on the dash it's saying that tpm sensor is bad but also saying the passenger seat belt is malfunctioning which could be affecting the airbag. But that's the only indicators it's giving. What could cause it to crank and not run.? It's a 2006
@BmwDoctor Hi Dean I’m having an issue with my 2006 E60M5 I was cleaning out my car with the doors open all of a sudden the interior lights cut off… I shut all the doors and proceeded to start the car my SMG gear lever never illuminated. I always cut my car off and leave it in reverse so when I went to restart it my car was stuck in reverse and I can’t get the gear lever to light up now
Dean, BMW Doctor your knowledge is outstanding, I've got a battery discharge over a couple of nights it isn't flat but the cluster info zeros ie clock to zero, mpg ect all to zero with a warning car on lift, and battery discharge shows up in writing. Ive taken it to be checked and they say there is no fault. I would love you to have a look at it as I believe you would find the fault. You don't live anywhere near Sheffield do you.

I have 325i, 2007, E93 Convertible. I have been switching the engine on / off recently when idle on traffic lights trying to be environmentally friendly. The other day, I switched it off and didn't start back again, no crank. i called the AA, checked the battery 12.6, all lights are working fine, however, when i use the key to open the car, I don't hear it priming anymore. i checked fuse 15 is fine, KL 30 relay no corrosion or burn mark on it. What could it be please?
I’ve got an 2006 E90. Replaced the engine from an 07. Car would turn over but not start. Put the ecu and CAS from the donor where the engine came from and it starts but runs rough. I get errors that the vin doesn’t match. Is there a way to use my original ecu and CAS with this engine?

My 2011 328i had a power drain issue that killed the battery and during jumping off the battery I believe I fried the Footwell module because of no interior lights, no window movement, headlights constant on and tail light but no brake light. I am ordering a new module to fix that problem and charged the battery but now the car is wanting to start but it won't turn over. What do you think is the reason for it not starting?
So what does it mean if I have a intermittent start? It will start fine and run fine and then I drive it and get where I'm going and park it, go on about my business and when I go get back in and try to start it up all I can hear is a click under the hood, but after several attempts at whatever point it decides to start then it will start... this is beyond frustrating!!
