    • @3800S1
      @3800S1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Eco are better supported but have way more junk parts on the market. These days the old Buick have little stuff for them but what is available or custom ordered/made are top quality. Also when it comes to boost the older engines are better due to stronger pistons, rods and thick heads and suitable CR for boost and detonate far less for the same timing, also the rod ratio is massively better on the old ones. The only real advantage the eco has for boost is the cross bolted mains but as far as I have seen neither have issues regarding the mains/caps anyway.

    Should update to a VY ECU, flash based tuning instead of memcal

      I changed it from the flash based as they are shit for boost. it has a NVRAM chip in it now so I can tune realtime, and it reads twice the amount of cylair as the flash based.

    Love a good turbo eco. The l67 is the same rods as a stock eco. But yeah they have lower compression. 8.5-1 vs 9.0 for eco’s. The rods you want to make 700hp come out of a L32 engine. Found in usa. Stock eco will live. If you go to a mls head gasket. Stock gaskets are the weak point.

    • @hayden6056
      @hayden6056 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rods for l67 definitely are beefier and have a different pin diameter.
      Ring gap is the biggest importance to get these to survive under boost.
      I wouldn't waste my time with l32 rods they're pretty heavy and not cheap like they used to be. A stock set new and delivered with tax is $650-800.
      Have arp bolts fitted and then resized , theirs $800-1000
      The forged rods with arp hardware work out cheaper and have a better factory accuracy balance.
      Head gaskets are an issue on them but the MLS are known for issues on these too. Unsure if it's non reccomended Ra finish on blocks and heads and people just slap them or what the issue is.
      Studs and stock gaskets are also a tried combo. A lot harder to seperate a gasket if you get zero head lift.
