Hi Aidan, Bogan Bus describes it really well mate. The seats on it are ok for an hour or two, but don't really cut it for long haul. You're absolutely right in saying that it's a much better idea if you're flying long haul to pay the little extra and use a full service carrier. Thanks for all your reports mate, they're really good! 😊
Here’s a tip, if you fly international with Jetstar pay a few more bucks to get upfront seat, you can be last on and first off, I’ve flown to Bangkok and Singapore from Melbourne no issues 👍
Used to fly Tiger from Melbourne to Coolangatta regularly to see my dad. The worst seats ever!! Even after not even 2 hrs we were wriggling around trying to get comfortable the seats were so hard. I’ve flown a bit, including domestically in the US, nothing worse than Tiger, absolutely woeful!
@@codybowman803 🤣Of course, In all seriousness though we did a similar Jetstar flight in business last year it was Mel-Syd-Phuket, we just did Mel-Syd leg was very comfy and they even served champagne in the business cabin😉
@@ifly1 These unique domestic flights are actually part of an international service, as the Jetstar or Qantas plane has originated from overseas, or will travel onwards overseas, after departing Melbourne. If this is all too onerous for the proverbial 90 minute milk run between Sydney and Melbourne, then a traveller ought to elect an ordinary domestic flight from the outset. dude, i cant wait to watch this video, personally as much as i dont want to fly the jetstar 787, being based in melbourne it can be quite hard, as we regularly fly to honolulu and jetstar being the only carrier that flies this route makes it 10 hours of hell, even worse when they operated the a330. thats why im hoping that qantas or hawaiian airlines will expand into melbourne!!!
I've flown Star Class on Jetstar between the Gold Coast and Japan, and that was OK, but I wouldn't do it in economy. The trick with Jetstar is to keep your expectations very low. That way, disappointment is minimal.
This is so surreal... International terminal for a domestic. I've done Malaysia Airlines a couple of times between SYD and MEL on the way to and from KUL back in the day. I found the YCL on the JQ 787 surprisingly decent. It's ok for a day time flight, but no... Definitely JCL on a longer flight.
What amazes me with the US is when you arrive at the airport and the gate agent says to the flight attendants "How many wheel chairs do you require"? '"Make that 45 please"🤣theres more people being pushed off those planes than walking
Hey Aidan, first off love your vids!!🙂keep it up. As for intl flights to Asia or Hawaii.... i think the entertainment would be complimentary vs on domestic flights 🤔 They do have to compete with other budget airlines international flights who may have free in flights entertainment... whether it be accessible on a personal tablet or mobile
Btw i do fly Jetstar Asia between Singapore and Indonesia yearly.... once am in the area comming from Canada. It is my go to airline considering Scoot I find a little expensive for inflight purchases. They even charge for the use of charging ports/power outlets sometimes 🙄 The Canadian to Singapore bit i usually take ANA,Air Canada, or Swiss Air.
A day inspired by Australian perhaps, short kangaroo hops between cities, boomeranging back to Adelaide. Fun apart from $12 dollars for a sausage roll!
Hii i flew on the 787 a few years ago i thought it was a fun experience but it was a bit cramped. (The flight was i think Cairns to Tokyo 😭 it was so long) LOVE FROM ADELAIDE! 🇦🇺 ❤🎉
I'd definitely go on that flight. Good chance to fly on the 787 and get the international terminal experience, but on a short flight. Do you have to have a passport to go on that flight? You had great footage of Sydney and Melbourne, and of course, that amazing wing. Thanks for sharing.
A boeing 787 Melbourne to Abu Dhabi was a nightmare even with Etihad. An airbus a380 Melbourne to Dubai was fine on Emirates. The 787 isn't really a good fit for Australian flights.
Definitely uncomfortable, but i did fly it from BKK to SYD in “ buisness”. Was good for half the price of other buisnesses and almost full status credits for qantas (125 sc 11,005 points)
Because it’s an onward journey qantas wants bums on seats so they sell tickets for the Sydney to Melbourne part of the trip they do this in Perth too with QF9 continues to Melbourne as QF10 domestic from London but departs as an international flight you have to pas through border force because you’re mixing from international passengers who haven’t been screened by security or border force yet but will when they get to Melbourne

I wouldn't fly Jetstar if they gave tickets away. The service is appalling, the seats uncomfortable and sardine like. Tried twice and switched immediately to another carrier. Their mother company is just as bad. As an Australian our carrier leaves a lot to be desired.
@ 10:00, I was so immersed in the video, that as he said that they were descending, I thought that I felt the change in atmospheric pressure. I've really gotta stop taking everything so seriously. It's just a video, ffs!
I have done international flights on the Jetstar 787 and it was fine. Pay extra and get the up front seat or go business class (which I think is good value for money but they sell out quickly).

i fly to bangkok from melbourne every year with jetstar and i think its fine
Excellent flight review Aidan, always very informative and interesting. Great work buddy.
No need to pay for a train xfer between terminals. The airport has a Terminal Transfer Bus which run ever 15 mins and are free.

B787 has the same seat pitch as the Qantas A330 that flies to Asia (which is79cm) so you have the same legroom even if you pay more to fly Qantas!
Looks a lot better than many of our airlines here in the US!
Great video Aidan, nice one. You seem to visit Melbourne frequently 🙂 Surprised your first flight on a 787, but at least now you have done it.

Bogan bus. That’s a great name. In the US, pretty much all domestic travel is bogan bus level.😊

Try travelling on a budget airline in the USA, Jetstar are not that bad. I regularly use Jetstar to fly PER to ADL and PER to DPS, can't complain.
you should review the Malaysia Airlines flight from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur!!

Great review
Why are you flying on an international flight from the international airport from Sydney down to Melbourne?
Great video 😎
awesome vid 🙌 flying to DPS on jetstars a321 neo next week - i have no expectations..
oh no the neos are the worst, theyre so cramped
I just did a perth round trip on one, it was a horrible flight haha

I have flown Jetstar before 3 cancellations and no show. Haven’t flown with them again and never will.

I flew Bne-Mel on their 787. But I agree I’m not sure about a long flight either

Nice vlog. Why’s it called the bogan bus?
Because Jetstar have some cheap economy seats to mainly tourist destinations sometimes it attracts some “bogan” passengers let’s just say😅

This strategy is not realistic for nearly all passengers as doing so will greatly limits flight choice.
I think that Jetstar Asia B787 came from Bali Indonesia
Never fly business first then economy, do it the other way around.

i don't mind economy international with Jetstar, and I'm not a bogan.
I would never fly Jetstar again, cancelled on me the morning of the flight
This has consequences as this greatly limits flight choice in the future.
