For those of you that tried to adjust the height and it did nothing, there is another screw attached to the piece where the bowl kind of “pops” into place that might need to be tightened. Once I did that I was able to adjust the height properly

@@MrJcporter1 If you go to 1:01, in the middle of the arms of the stand mixer you will see a piece of silver metal with a hole in it. The screw I referenced is keeping that piece connected to the mixer

My older model has 2 screws...And you do the same thing , turn both screws. I've had mine for 34 years and it always mixed too high. Drove me crazy. Dug it out to sell it and saw this video... Good Lord!!! Thank you so much for this video!!

I did the screw adjustment to lift the bowl up more - the blade on my paddle still barely even mixes the stuff in the bottom of the bowl 🫤😡 Any other suggestions?

It may have to be turned the left to raise it up, right to lower.... that is how mine was.

I adjusted the screw on the new one we bought a week ago. Neither direction made any difference. Returned it next day. So, my son took our old one, tore it apart, replaced brushes, gaskets and speed control for about $60 of parts (he also bought their repair manual!). Works! Date stamp on the bottom and inside is for 1983.

So you used to Dime test for the dough hook hook? I believe I may have misunderstood Glenn I thought Glenda said that the dime test is only for the flat mixer attachment and not the tow hook you adjusted to do hook with the dime test how was it supposed to move the dime

I do what you said to do, but after a week, it goes back to the way it was: too high, so flour and sugar, etc. are still on the bottom unincorporated into the mixture. I spent over $600 on this Kitchen Aid 7-quart mixture, but it always reverts back to not mixing properly. I even call Kitchen Aid's customer service, and they said to do exactly what you do...but after 1 week I have to do this again - and then again? Crazy. While I love Kitchen Aid products, I got a loser mixer with this purchase. I did subscribe, because I liked your video: very professional and very concise. Thank you!

That made no noticable difference, so I applied more pressure and got it turned to almost 12:00, which helped a bit. Looks like that's all it's going to move and I'm afraid to force it. hello ,,I purchased a used Hobart /KitchenAid Mixer ,,however my mixer has "as it seems" an extra thick spacer ( 1-1/2 inch thick ) sandwiched between the base and the bottom of the vertical lift mechanism arm - ( I have seen others like this in the past )- it 's almost as if someone wanted to make allowance to be able to fit a deeper bowl - might you know why this has been added can i remove it ? thanks

My KA Artisan stand mixer's tilt-head BEATER does not position itself in the center when it is lifted up after mixing the contents. So, some amount of cookie-dough or buttercream attached to the beater always ends up falling on the counter whenever the beater/head is lifted/tilted off. Is there any adjustment for fixing the beater position so it remains in the center while in the bowl, AND when the head is tilted?

We have the 6 qt bowl which now passes the dime test using the paddle thanks to your sage advice. Should the dough hook also move the dime? I measured the dough hook and it is 1/2" shorter than the paddle. It does not come close to the bottom of the bowl and has a terrible time with brioche. Its as if the wrong dough hook is included with the bowl. Should the dough hook be that much shorter? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hey Terryk,, the dime test is just for the beater blade - I measured our tools and the dough hood for this model is about 1/2" shorter than the beater paddle. I hope you're able to figure out your brioche!

I don't know if you're still answering questions on this video but I just got a kitchenaid pro 600 and the beater seems to be too low no matter how I adjust the screw. The dime will move but the beater seems to be scraping the bottom of the bowl and the bowl is pushed down with every revolution. I don't know if this is because the bowl is empty and maybe a full bowl wouldn't move, but it just seems to be putting undue stress on the bowl-holding arms. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.
