    Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. My son bought me one for Christmas and I am so grateful because I bake a lot during the holidays. However, the new mixer was rather intimidating to me because of its massive size and good quality as I am used to the handheld mixers.

    Thanks for a nice overview! We just got a Pro 600 and noticed that the locating pins on the right support arm (that holds the bowl) had fallen off in the box. The pin on the left arm is fixed tightly into the arm. I just placed the missing pin loosely back in its slot. Is the pin meant to be loose or do I have a defective unit?

    I'm waiting on my Pro 600 to arrive. Im 64 and have never owned a stand mixer so I am excited! I'm curious why the model I ordered doesn't come with the black knob on the lift arm like the older models do. I really like the look with the black knob on it. Can those be purchased separately? I also love ice cream and ordered the ice cream maker too so I'm super excited about that! I watched your video earlier today to see how to make it once the mixer arrives and to see what ingredients I needed to have on hand so I would be ready. • @epicuricloud

      Honestly, I don't consider the mixers (any of them) loud. At least, they've never bothered me! I would say the Mini-Artisan 3.5qt and the 7QT seem to me to be a little quieter than the others, but again none of them seem too loud to me. It depends if you're talking attachments as in beaters - or attachments as in the ones that plug into the power hub - ie: the pasta rollers. So the beaters are not all interchangeable. Hello Tina, I bought this mixer in Guava Glaze and it is a beautiful machine. The design on the other hand is horrid, none of the attachments do anything with ingredients in the bottom of the bowl. It takes over 15 minutes to whip egg whites, bread dough has to be constantly watched and scraped back into the hook. The power is there but the connection is not!! Any solutions?? Or is this just a $500 cabinet ornament. Thank you.

    • @epicuricloud
      @epicuricloud  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anita - Guava Glaze is so pretty! Do you have the metal or glass bowl? There is a very simple adjustment that is helpful to do from time to time. (especially after shipping, when the unit can be jostled around a bit) It's called the beater to bowl clearance. There are instructions on how to do in your Use & Care Guide. It's just the turn of a screw. If you don't have the Use & Care Guide, it is also posted here: www.qvc.com/footers/cd/pdf/K48221_Manual.pdf

    • @epicuricloud
      @epicuricloud  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Yes, they eliminated the springs - I don't have them on my mixers - makes it much easier to keep clean. I don't personally notice any issue with not having the spring. I've not had issues with egg whites - but you need a few egg whites so it's enough volume for the beater.

      Hi Beeba - you can usually whip as little as 3 egg whites. Sometimes it needs to whip a little bit until it gets fluffy and the beater comes in contact with more of the mixture. You can also adjust your bowl to beater clearance to make sure the beater is in the correct position. th-cam.com/video/ocnETNExLc0/w-d-xo.html

    Hi there, great video. Could you help me with something? I just opened my stand mixer and the "elevator" is making a lot of noise when i make pizza dough, hears like something loose, each spin is one metal beat. It is very noisy. is it normal?

      Is the bowl locked into the clip in the back?

    • @zenanton4259
      @zenanton4259 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@epicuricloud Hi there. Yes, the three points are docked. To way i fit was: First the both frontal pins, and the, with both hands, dock the back. The noise comes from the "elevator", that mobile part, not from the bowl. Thanks!

    How to adjust the mixer to the bowl so it will not touch the bottom while turning.

    • @epicuricloud
      @epicuricloud  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mr. D. There is a screw located along the back support of the mixer (right behind the bowl when it's in the upper position). You can turn that screw a 1/4 turn in either direction to adjust the beater to bowl clearance. I usually fold a standard letter envelope in half and see if I can just slip it under the beater. (if you have a flex edge beater, the scraper part should be touching the bowl.)

    How to remove the bowl?

    • @epicuricloud
      @epicuricloud  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Aubrey - After mixing, I lower the bowl and take of the beater. To remove the bowl, grasp the handle and lift upward to release. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    I would like to see how to remove the bowl after you've mix your items.

      @epicuricloud  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good idea Betty - I should have shown that. You want to lower the bowl. Unhook the beater, but leave it in the bowl. Lift upward on the bowl using the handle - and remove. Then take you beater out.

    The one thing that is NEVER EVER discussed was the depth of the beater to bottom of bowl, in addition no one ever talks about the height adjustment of the beaters, don't you think that's important as well, I just found out this very important information about kitchen aid
