  • Bad Batch Episode 7 and 8 form a two-parter political conspiracy that calls back to films like All the President's Men and Thre Days of the Condor. This also shows the galaxy at a crucial time, when the final remnants of the Clone wars gave way to the Imperial stormtrooper.

    Two more easter eggs:
    - In the 79s bar you can see the riot racing from episode 4 playing on one of the TVs in the background
    - The electrocution pill the clone assassin uses to off himself was first seen used by an imperial officer in chapter 11 of The Mandalorian

    • @luckygrunt
      @luckygrunt ปีที่แล้ว

      My knowledge of the Galactic Civil War era is limited, but I didn't think the Empire was xenophobic. I thought they only enslaved and/or killed races that were loyal to the republic, like the Wookies. In a galaxy where seeing a funky looking alien walk past you in the street is just normal, xenophobic policies would work against you. Common enemies can unite the unlikeliest of people. Just look at World War 1 and 2. Britain and France had been enemies for centuries, but they came together to defeat Prussia, and later Germany. The US was supposedly drawing up plans for an invasion of the UK, then WW1 broke out and they became allies.
      In a galaxy with thousands of races that outnumber you tenfold, being a xenophobe isn't a good idea. Besides, the Sith never cared about race. Hell, Palpatine's master wasn't human, and Naboo wasn't xenophobic, so it wouldn't make sense for old Palpy to be racist. Racism is learned, not instinct.

    The animation on these episodes was exceptional. I kept noticing the facial expressions in particular, they were subtle and complex. • @kevind3974
      @kevind3974 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      knowing echo unlike rex he would not have retired. like hypothesized in this vid, rex probably retired once the clones were disbanded. rex kind of got what he wanted, not a full victory but enough were he knows his brothers are safe. if just mostly safe. echo wouldn't stop, as hes a fighter. plus as his time with the bad batch has showed us hes ancy when he dosnt have a goal. the rebellion would give him that in spades.
      plus as hes now probably rexs right hand man (which is ironic as hes missing his) he will be introduced to most if not all major early players. i would not be surprised if he even get in contact with people like luthin or bos who are vital to the formation of the rebellion at large but so deep down the rabbet hole only the best or the ones brought in even know about. while he would most defiantly work with ashoka as rex probably works with/for her
      the rebellion needs someone who can get shit done especially this early as rex will not be their forever as he probably has less then 5 years left before retiring. while people like andor (whos about 11-13 right now) or leiya (she like 3) are not even active in the true rebelion yet. plus ashoka thou active cant show herself to the outside world. so the vary op day one rebel isnt a cetch all, meaning someone needs to do the missions she cant do.

    5:39 starwars has always been political. The original trilogy was using alot of inspirations from old samurai films to WWII, but it’s an interpretation of the Vietnam war, with the Empire representing the United States and Vietnam being the rebels. It wasn’t until the prequels where the politics were more visible and gave more differing perspectives about the the clone wars and being commentary about the political climate of the time

    I was thinking after watching the 2nd episode, the twist that for Palpatine "everything is proceeding as I have for seen it" is significant. He has pulled the long game plan at least twice now and the last time he tries it, getting the whole rebellion to attack the 2nd Death Star (it is I who allowed the Rebels to know the location of the shield generator), that his overconfidence with these plans is his weakness, like Luke tells him. He is so arrogant, he can't see that Vader might betray him or Luke won't turn and become his new apprentice.

    Another point to Omega being force sensitive. When Wrecker was under the control of the chip, he attacked her specifically. The chip made the clones extra aggressive towards force sensitive individuals.

      That's why it never bugged me bringing Palpatine back for rise of skywalker. He is always planning so far ahead to me he would have plan in place just in case vader turned on him. The fact that he wouldn't have one to me goes against his character.

    I wondered if the pressure seal on the snipers helmet implied some new form of control like drugs to replace the chip as a way of keeping a number of clones fanatically loyal, 'decommissioning' clones may imply further clones being scrubbed of their identity and continuing to be used for black ops missions in the Empire post retirement as frontline soldiers as everyone else thinks they have just been let go.

    I think the episodes of the Clone Wars thta focused on the clones were the best of the series and that continues with The Bad Batch. This series is really doing a great job of filling in the story that was woefully missing in the Prequels and the Sequels that make it all make sense.

    Look into the honor guards the lore behind them is insane and the clone assassin matches a fraction of what the honor guards had to go through so far, but only time will tell how close they truly are or are not.

    I think the assassin is a Phase 1 Darktrooper. In the Manadalorian they even say that the thing holding the Darktroopers back was the human inside. And if you look at the trooper and compare it to the legends phase 1 dark trooper they look very similar.

    The Black Ops Clone Trooper could have been part of a Clone Commissariat. In the Clone Commando series, an Arc deserter is targeted by that unit who's job it is to hunt down rogue Clones. This would be, I believe, their first canon appearance if true

    One of the CTs name is "Cade", might be a homage to Cade Skywalker from Legends. The Assassin's helmet looks like a Sith helmet from SWTOR, which might lend credence to your "Sith Cultist" theory. Great video as always, Ryan and crew!

    Echo should wind up being crucial to the formation of the rebellion and live through the whole saga. I read somewhere that they confirmed Wolf or one of the clones as the bearded rebel on Endor in ROTJ, so if Echo lives all the way to ROTJ it would be perfect. With all that he went through, he deserves to see the Empire fall. Sadly, I doubt that will happen because he has this tragic vibe that makes me think he won't be around much longer.

      Her intuition is on par with untrained and lightly trained force sensitives we have met, like Ezra at the start of Rebels, also Kaminoans don't create without a purpose, and we know Palps directs a lot of resources into force sensitive cloning, why else would Omega be so different from the other Fett clones

    Now I know its not a reference but in episode 7 at 7.20 when the senate meeting is ending and rampart is moving off there is a little chime in the music that sounds the exact same as savathun's song from destiny 2 (probably best heard at the end of the witchqueen trailers).
