Those levers are actually really rare. The O’Neal brand made them back in the 80s and called them a total control lever. You can’t find them anywhere nowadays
It's a new generation, and we tend to think the world started turning the day we were born. MXA (magazine), is a prime example of not knowing the past in the sport they write about today. Remember the "DeBruiser" cross bar pad that was very popular in the 80's (and probably 90's too), even with many factory riders and privateers using them, (me too)? MXA today laughed at it,---and thought the slit down the side, (to get it on the cross bar), was suppose to hold air,--and it leaked. Not kidding. In print for the world to see man.
All I gotta say is it's amazing how far u have come since u started back in the day w Charlie...Keep up the great work and all rewards in the future u Def earned and deserve. Many more yrs 2 come my friend..cheers...b safe.peace..
Tip to get those stuck or over tightened drain bolts. Use a 6 point socket. Firmly tap your wrench with your hand or mallet. 60% of the time works every time. Works for spark plugs also.
One of the best channels out there if you are into bikes/quads and love wrenching on them. (Ignore the jealousy that appears in the comments and the arm chair quarterbacks that are always willing to tell him what he did "wrong".)
Damn, here is a 50 year old guy just remembering the good times i had with a '95 bike like that!! The crisp sound underneath ya while riding the track !!! Just does it for me... makes me want to get one again, but my knees would hate me for that!!😁😁😁😁
word of advice. use atf on 2 strokes for motor oil. yes 4 stroke oil will work but its a gear box and the engine is lubbed up by premix. atf also is a lot thinner and makes all 2 strokes shift like butter. will also prevent your clutches from sticking unlike motor oil
I bought a 95rm250 a while back in about the same condition an I redone it from the frame up. Parts are so hard to find I had a problem with broken power valve an took me forever to source but I take it to the track every week whooping up on 4 strokes. The 90s bikes still decimate to this day with the right rider
I had a 1998 Kx 250, back in the 05s or around there. Sold it to go to college. Loved that bike. Only downfall was it had specific to it's year shock linkage stuff. Looked just like that 95 but had more purple black. I'll be enjoying this video for sure.
All those people that talked crap about you for years see you are killing it and probably are more successful than half of those grown men that would rag on you instead of being helpful.

Clearly the little amount of oil that was in there saved this engine 💯 you said it was sat for years so don't need to worry if it's been drained good find Joe keep up the videos
Nice. These videos have me fiendishly wanting to rip a 2 stroke around. But all I have currently is a riding lawn mower. Might put a fmf n re-jet so it rips
Up the main jet for the pipe, maybe a clip on the needle to clean up the transition from bottom end to mid range(as another commenter said) replace missing fork guards rear mudguard, add a graphics kit tyres and off to a new owner $$.
So jealous of the land lol especially now that the riding trails here in Mass are closed for the season now. Just needs a few jumps and a set track and you could have some awesome riding there. Congrats nice find I love KX'S. I have a 09 KX 250f and a 98 YZ400F wish I was close by we could tear up some dirt. I'm kind of an old man but I can still rip some shit up lol.
You get some amazing deals on these, once in a while I'll get onto fix and they don't want to pay or can't so I end up getting smoking deal. Crazy some of the stuff I've locked on to over the years, mechanics leans and such.. If I sell t hem I usually always get my money back out of em, well shop money. Gotta keep the lights on. My ebay and local swap n shop sales do well usually to. You got a good gig there, keep it up. It's amazing what used MX bikes and atvs will fetch price wise. Another great vid Joe!
2 strokes are the best keep doing 2 stroke stuff love it! I just started using klotz benol and the performance of the yz 125 is incredibly better smells amazing too
thanks to you ive learned so much which has helped me make the decision of doing stuff like this. eventually I'll buy my first vehicle to work on and hopefully make a profit. thank you
When you first took off I thought she wouldn't fly, but I remembered the spark plug barely sparking messed up. So when it cleared out even with bald tires I knew it would fly.
@Joe I would like to know if you run her again? I'm seeing a few things that puzzles me. 1. Small main jet. (previous owner trying to lean her out) 2. Old plug looks like she had been burning oil. 3. Very low eng. oil level. 4. Slow to burn of the oil in the eng. This could be pointing to an oil leak between the crank case and the transmission!!! Let her sit for a few days and run her again. And check the plug.
125s are the best dirt bikes enough power any1 can ride them yet small enough to throw around I've had em all 125 250 300 450 still love a good built 125 for trail riding nothing beats em
Buy a new rear fender and some new fork guards and fix the seat foam chunk that is missing with spray foam super simple and cheap should of did that when fixing the seat cover.
In my 60 years of riding and working on motorcycles there were only 2 motorcycles that scared me on a first cold ride. A 1988 KX500 we had to pull with a quad to 3rd gear it. That bike had my eyebrows wiggling. And an old Maico 501 4 speed 'crosser. 70 mile an hour 4th gear wheelies just blipping the throttle! Honorable mention- Kawasaki 1300 (not the bagger) and second gear tire lock against a brick wall at the shop I was working at back in the day. My retina's have never recovered! By the way... have you ever had a customer use a nail for a jet needle?
Aren't you supposed to leave the throttle closed when it's on choke. You're always kicking and opening the throttle at the same time I wonder if that could affect it's starting
It's also funny as hell how he kicks the bikes a 1000 times then, he decides to put oil in the cylinder. This kid has NO CLUE! I find it very sad how easily people are fooled by his "halfway repairs" and think he's a genius.

Making me want to get an old bike to work on 😂 don't get me wrong I love my 2022 Dr650, but I've always loved the rm series bikes. Would love to get an old 125 to do some work on and have some more fun with. My Dr is a pavement princess I need her to help save $$ on fuel for my commute to work and stuff. Great video.

Fun video !! Nice work , I am not much of a Kawasaki fan since 2000 . I crashed my new kx 250 in 2000 and ended up in hospital for 6 weeks uggg and totaled my new bike and myself 😁 in the process !! I use 6 points on every bolt I can anyways so I don't strip them
If you use a rubber mallet, you can pretty much hit it as hard as you physically can without marring anything.

Bike running rich on mid range. Lean air mixture screw. Great find.

keep the two stroke content coming!!! love it
You can use aluminum brightener on the brake rotors and it makes them look way cleaner and they work a lot! Better
