My dad had a line he would say anytime I got hurt when we were having fun doing one of our hobbies - “son, don’t tell your mom about this or she’s not gonna let us do it anymore”. I always laughed any time he said it. Especially that time, because he was joking due to it being obvious she was gonna find out. RIP Father (he always laughed when I would jokingly call him that instead of dad)

This sound is scary for me. I have cr 85R and I have huge respect for this little 2stroke, more respect than for my XR400R xd. I dont know what to expect from this bike. It wheelie in situations, when i dont want to wheelie...and yeah...because of unexpected wheelie i crashed and broke the rear fender lol. Great video and ride, you definitely have a lot of expierences with these 2strokes.

Anyway, it feels like i can controll it easer and know what to expext from it on xr 400R. It can wheelie without clutch even in 3rd gear (with little hepl ofc)

WAS IT A KX 80 ((( BIG WHEEL ))) or was ot just an 80 ....I had a 1991 KX 80 BIG WHEEL with a WISCO piston BOYESIN reeds FMF pipe an silencer....PRO ACTION front an rear suspintion.....it was a BEAST .....didnt matter if it was the track or drag racing in a field it would smoke 125s and 250s all day long .....the 91 big wheel was the first year of the lime green frame....it was my first motor x bike and arena x ...and also trail bike.....with the way i had it geared front an rear sprokets it would climb eanything.....Aslong as you hit the hills in 2nd gear on the pipe it would climb an clomb an climb either until you let out or you fliped over but if you kept your feet on the pegs and didnt let out of it you could climb eany hill eany were eanytime ...in 2nd gear on the pipe or power band or reed and you had your big boy balls on it was wicked fast and unstopable ....
A power band isn't anything like a mechanical accessory :- it's just the rev point where it kicks out maximum power all the way until the power dies off -( let's say 4000 rpm to 6500 rpm ,that's where it's at its most powerful) if you look at an old rev counter the maximum band of will be marked on the numerals with them possibly being a little more dark and bold !

How many power bands does it have? I used to have a 92 kx80 bored over to a 100. It was really fast. Had after market boyesen powerbands. It could keep up with a 250f. Was a great bike until someone stole it off my front porch. It was chained up and everything. The law wouldn’t do anything about it.

@@ArmathuX are you in the uk? I ask because of the big wheel 80. Growing up my 2000 kx 80 and 2003 kx 85 were faster than my 2003 kx 100. But a pipe reeds fresh top end and a port and polish to be more like the 85 will make the 10” faster than the 85. 100s come tamer for the woods I know that lol
I had an 86 new. 2 stroke of course. Believe it was first year of a radiator/ liquid cooled. Little bastard flew, had to sit near top of seat to keep the front end down... The green machine!
Chur bro I’ve got a 125kx big wheel don’t know the year it’s roughly a 1998-2003, our sleeve in the cylinder barrel has a chip in it, im just wondering if we can replace the whole sleeve or is that not possible ? Do we have to get a whole new cylinder barrel ?
I had one of these, allegedly bored out to 110 (though I never bothered to check). It scared the pants off my pants. Thing would pop throttle whoolies in all 6.

Rear end is relatively high in Kx80 (its good & bad thing imo). Original seat foam is very comfortable to sit.. not thhat much grip but I keep it possibly so long it last. Power outcome is maybe lazy in some situation (steep hills) comparing RM80

I think its pretty nice dirtbike for almost everyone if not too big rider.. enough power to do small hillclimbs, random fun, playing. I had 98 small wheel version yrs ago. I dont have personal experience of 00. btw it looks very similar to 98. Frame is also lime green.. very nice

One reason is I had to replace original broken clutch lever. (Original lever was smaller sized) Other reason > Im just riding how I feel best
