A small detail that I really appreciate happens when the Dark Hound is introduced in episode 34. Kio gets caught in a situation that exactly parallels when Asemu gets caught here. Asemu saves Kio just like Wolf does for him, but then dodges the attack that killed Wolf and counterattacks. It's a great callback to show how Asemu truly has surpassed Wolf and grown into the super pilot that his mentor knew he could be.
It is super subtle but I think it is implied that Asemu might have replayed that moment in his mind or dreams everyday for decades, thinking "if I was stronger than, if I was able to do more, if I was faster.... etc"

I've always loved how they make the Gundams themselves characters in their own right by making scenes where they seem to display the same sort of extreme emotions as their pilots. Like how the AGE-2 here seemed to display just as much grief-fueled rage as Asemu himself. And in G Gundam, when Domon has to kill Kyoji to stop the Devil Gundam, they have the light reflecting off of the God Gundam's eyes resemble tears as Domon delivers the final blow. In a sense, they find ways to "humanize" the Gundams themselves to emulate the same emotions their pilot is feeling at that particular moment. And they don't specifically draw attention to those moments either, they leave it up to the viewers to notice, and they don't always make it blatantly obvious, but they can sometimes keep it rather subtle. The Gundams aren't just treated as mere weapons of war, they are treated like standalone separate characters in their own right, and act more as a "partner" for their pilot rather than simply their weapon.
AGE is a favorite of mine. A story of three generations, each with their own unique challenges. We see a story of a kind hearted kid turns to a bitter old man with Flit. We see talent without perseverance is nothing with Asemu. Finally we see hopeful youth with Kio. I never understood why the series is considered failure, maybe it's the cartoony art style... But man... The ending... Flit reuniting with Yurin in the afterlife, RIP Emily.
The series was considered a failure because at the time because it was being compared to Gundam 00. At the time Gundam Unicorn had release it 1st or second episode. Well so much was going on actually. Much like Saint Seiya Omega , this series didn't attract attention at its time of release due to other series within its franchise. I really hope bandai comes back to to AGE kits and give them the update they need.
After years, when I look back at this scene, I started to think: "What if Diesel survived and became the Dio of Gundam AGE? He lost to Flint in act 1 as a kid, lost to Asemu in act 2 as an adult, but how would it be if he survived and came back as an insane old man with a mega grudge that lasted for decades against the Asuno family?"

Would have made a much better last boss than a rando taken over by SID. Just imagine, both sides have agreed to a ceasefire and Flit placated. But Desil being the most unstable of those who oppose the ceasefire hijacks the Vagan Gear and kills anyone eho tries to stop him, ally and enemy alike. Only the Asunos, 3 generations of Gundam pilots that all suffered because of him, work together to bring him down and achieve peace for good. Kinda cheesy but better than what we got at least.
the final enemy could have been a younger clone of desil mentored by his mentally broken old self instead of a random emotionless clone of the vagan leader. sadly the final obstacle of the serie was so god damn shallow
Asemu losing his mentor was hard to see like killing off Grodek wasn't bad enough and Yurin too love how Asemu painted The Age 2 white to honor Woolf some fan's may not like Age but I loved it. 2:35 though Flint had a really shocked reaction.

I actually enjoyed Gundam Age a lot, especially Age-2, the story of Age-2 is a story of how a human win against beasts (As X-Rounder abilities are not an evolution like the Newtype abilities or Innovator abilities, but a step backwards). At the end of the day, we are all humans, and we have a lot of issues at hand, improving ourselves to the utmost limits is all that we can do
Pre-Kio arc he was the best character. But they basically erased all of his development when he became Captain Ash, becoming wishy-washy and only prolonged the war. Honestly, it wouldn't have been as bad if they just gave him amnesia or something.

In fact asemu has always been a really great pilote but his inferiority complex toward his father made him doubt himself a lot but when he chose to listen to woolf and stop doubting himself his true value as a pilote revealed itself.
