Cagali severed the tension between ZAFT and EARTH because the answer has always been Orb, the hardest one. Uzumi's vision is correct. Siegel's vision is the same. Unless the vicious cycle of hate stops, nothing will stop the flame of war from spreading.
they also spent a lot of time fighting against each other which means they learned each others moves and how they fight which can help now that they are working together.
These 2 know each other like the back of their hands. They have fought against each other so often, were friends for many years, and the Freedom and Justice were built to fight together like this. It's no surprise they would work this great together.

It's so cool how this is the first time Kira and Athrun ever fought together and it was without any prior warning or preparation at all, yet they managed to perfectly tag team.

Somewhat disappointed that Athrun didn't catch up with Dearka. I mean, they probably thought of each other as being KIA. Athrun probably had some questions about how Dearka ended up being alive and fighting with Buster alongside the Archangel.
I love the Astray girls. Also, ouch, after this, I really understand Athrun's struggles. I already understood him being under his father, who leads the nation, but I never really valued it as much as I do now. It's actually really easy to be confused in Athrun's shoes when he has the pressure of his own father on him. And Athrun retorting Cagalli's comment of Kira changing really goes to show how much he knows him. It may look like he's changed, but he's always been that way. The only difference between the him now and the him back then is he gained more knowledge; that helps his decision-making. I also want to note Cagalli's struggles. Kira already so grown up at the age of 16 while Cagalli still has so much to learn at the same age. And she should, because she's just like us; a natural. Even in Destiny, she's struggling so much because she's only 18. More time needs to pass and she needs to study and experience so much more. Kira and Athrun are leagues ahead of everyone else and they have SEED mode. It's kinda crazy to me that even after all that, Athrun isn't considered an "ultimate coordinator". All eyes are always on Kira. I guess that's what allows Athrun to work in the shadows too. It's the benefit of not being labelled as such. And then again again, Kira does one-up him in mentality in Destiny. Even now, he's one-upped in mentality. Kira going "Hi, Athrun" with a smile and Athrun only got angry until Cagalli came in.

As athrun said,he only brought confusion to the battlefield. And Athrun spends most of Destiny trying to figure out what he should do. Is he doing the right thing, is he on the right side, is he accomplishing anything? He basically undergoes a Change Wufei questioning of himself. He questions his choices again and again just like Justice is also constantly re-examined.

Physical weapons like railguns were always shown to be less effective against PS armor. Guess Kira still chose to use it anyway so there was no chance the attack could've been redirected by the shields.
Tactically makes no sense why Freedom, justice and Orb didn’t press their advantage and destroy the retreating group and the ships stationed without their 3 main fighters suits they are sitting ducks. Also plot is what kept the calamity group alive. I’ve counted a dozen times they should’ve ☠️ from justice and freedom attacks. We all know Kira doesn’t kill but Athrun does.
Maybe it's because of law international that forbid the force who retreating grup. If Orb broken this law, it become more escalating the war of Earth Alliance to Orb and Orb will be doomed.....

If they're tired, you can only imagine what the regular forces were going through. Also while the characters held well in the battle, the regular troop were being hammered. Lastly Athrun wasn't 100% coordinated with the Orb forces, he just barged into the battle, in fact he might've destroyed the Freedom during the confusion if he didn't know it was Kira in there
First off, no matter how tactical that is, it is unethical to attack them, even in war. They might be able to win this battle if they did but this is just a portion of EAFs forces, orb will still lose the war. Also due to their actions, all of earths nations would push for the dissolution of orb, thus Orb would have no future instead of just doing what they did.
Actually, while it's tactically advantageous to press the attack, it's strategically horrible. Say they succeed and destroy the invading army... and then what? Remember this is not even the EA's main attack force. It's just Muruta Azrael and friends. Had ORB pressed the attack with the Freedom and Justice at their helm, they would be seen not as a defending force but as an offensive one--as they did not allow anyone to escape. Their goal of remaining neutral would then become nothing short of a farce and the EA would lose all remaining hesitance to send a larger attack force. Sure, they'd win the day but with so much at stake, ORB is counting on the goodwill of the neighboring country plus ZAFT to take in their citizens when they inevitably fall. Had they pressed the attack, it's very likely that they'd lose the benefit of the doubt they enjoyed when the neighboring countries originally accepted their citizens as refugees. The goal in war is not always to destroy your enemy. Sometimes, it's beneficial to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Disappointed by the conversation between Kira and Athrun. This episode is called Athrun, and all I see is Kira talking at Athrun. Let me hear what Athrun has to say! And in their very first and long-awaited heart-to-heart, nothing of substance was said. Just recapping what happened with flashbacks galore. And the conversation didn't even move the plot or the relationship forward. The whole cause is feeling very confused now.
This episode is titled Athrun because this is his turning point. He seeks out Kira because of what Lacus said, and wanting to know what’s Kira point of view about this war. His conversation with Kira leads him to realize that in the war, both sides are both victims and perpetrators. Like Kira said, both of them killed the other’s friends, but it’s not like it’s out of hatred. The end result of that killing is still making both sides engulfed in hatred, and that’s the chain that they need to break off, im order to not spread war even further. This conversation is what makes Athrun think twice about things and make decision in later episodes.

Disappointed by the conversation between Kira and Athrun. This episode is called Athrun, and all I see is Kira talking at Athrun. Let me hear what Athrun has to say! And in their very first and long-awaited heart-to-heart, nothing of substance was said. Just recapping what happened with flashbacks galore. And the conversation didn't even move the plot or the relationship forward. The whole cause is feeling very confused now.
This episode is titled Athrun because this is his turning point. He seeks out Kira because of what Lacus said, and wanting to know what’s Kira point of view about this war. His conversation with Kira leads him to realize that in the war, both sides are both victims and perpetrators. Like Kira said, both of them killed the other’s friends, but it’s not like it’s out of hatred. The end result of that killing is still making both sides engulfed in hatred, and that’s the chain that they need to break off, im order to not spread war even further. This conversation is what makes Athrun think twice about things and make decision in later episodes.

사실 쌤쌤이론이라기보다 전쟁으로 인해 일어난 피할 수 없는 비극적인 사고였고
키라도 아스란도 상대를 죽이고싶어서 죽인건 아니니 복수의 연쇄는 여기서 끊어내자는 느낌인것같은데 뭔가느낌이...
쌤쌤이론이라는 비아냥이 그냥 나온 것이 아니지요. 그런 비판을 듣지 않으려 했다면 킬러토마토나 박쥐스란 특히 킬러토마토가 전후에라도 니콜 무덤에 가서 무릎이라도 꿇고 사과했어야 옳은 일입니다. 하지만 킬러토마토는 그런 것 1도 없었지요. 시데에서 생뚱맞은 위령비나 찾아가니 시청자 입장에서는 '뇌절'이라고 볼 수밖에 없습니다.
