I strongly disagree with him. What he's saying that success is money, success is houses, cars, a well earning business. But remember success is in reality an accomplishment of your aims. And the main aim or the focus of ones life is to for example being fit and healthy, reaching that positive mindset or being happy mentally and not just from the outer appearance. For me he is just talking unreasonable sentences.
You completely missed the point. He is saying that success is not those things (money, houses, cars, etc). He is saying that success is being happy with where you are and being proud of what you have done. You have the whole thing backward.
I'm only 25 myself so I don't claim to be a know it all, just offering a new perspective. I was just talking about this idea last night with friends, and this was actually my first time watching this video and I think he hit the nail on the head. He's basically saying society's general sense of happiness comes from achievement. But why do you want to achieve those things in the first place? If you wanna be fit and happy is that truly because you want the benefits? Or because you know you'll be applauded for how you end up looking. Not sure which was the case in your scenario, but there is a difference. And I don't mean the reason you just tell folks you do it for, but the REAL internal reason (might take some soul-searching but its worth it). Do you wanna feel good or just look good in the eyes of someone else? What happens when you fall short, or FEEL like you did? That pain is all ultimately perception, but perception is everything. Lot of anxiety and depression stem from twisted views of what happiness really should be. Chasing that shadow as you can imagine surely gets tiring. Then comes the nagging feeling of inadequacy to hover over your day to day life. Who knows what happens next.
@@KingObi803 it can be another ted talk. Thanks for you share your thoughts. i got a question for you: Should we escape from pain, depression or anxiety or the other "bad" feelings? Or should we face it? But please dont respond it on an so abstract way. think like that: you got a bad new about some of your reatives. should you do something that makes you happy or in this case we can say enjoyable and fun or should you just suffer this pain?

Please watch it again and try to truly UNDERSTAND what he's saying.
