If it automatically transfers the layout to the "UVW unwrap"modifier, it doesn't work in my 3ds max.

Yes, the plugin is fully compatible with the 3ds Max modifier stack logic (including "UVW unwrap" modifier). Make sure you use the latest plugin version (2.3.5 at the time of writing). If you still experience an issue with the plugin write me at [e-mail] - I will be glad to help.

The 3ds Max edition won't be available until it is ported to version 3.0.

UVPackmaster 3 is not going to be a Blender only plugin - variants for other 3D applications will follow but it will take some time to port the packer.
