Good to have a round up of uv tools. But I guess it would be nice to have actual reviews of the tools rather than the developers marketing blurb. my 2cents On paper Unwella looks great but I found practice it's not that useful. Flatron has a narrow use case that's only good for baked lighting Headus UVLayout - looks great and seems to be used in games a lot Unfold3D looks cool - but I haven't used it Unwrap Pro - The description is wrong because the default max 'peel' tool prevents overlaps. Unwrap Pro replaces the default max 'relax' tool to prevent overlaps. The relax Algorithm is way better than peel in making even uv layouts but by default the overlaps are a pain to fix. The combination of relax with no overlaps makes Unwrap Pro deceptively powerful for such a seemingly simple tool
@kenzorman thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience with us :) these video are created for people searching for Plugins and what they are good for. i don't think that my biased personal opinion is going help them much because i did not personally use these tools for long enough to give a fair reviews.

Excellent tutorial !! I have a doubt ... once the map of the textures has been made, could said map be "disassembled" to view all the material creation processes from the Material Editor? Thank you
Thank you for this. I was wondering can Unfold3d autopack several unfolded meshes into UDIM tiles? I don't have to click until tomorrow and place each mesh into separate tile?
RizomUV is amazing outside of Max. Inside Max I like TexTools and PolyUnwrapper. The downside of Rizom is that it will triangulate your entire model if there are ngons. A lot of Turbosquid models are full of ngons along with models who are new (or sloppy) and allow ngons in their workflow.
In Max you should be able to re quadrify your mesh with a click of a button.... Make sure your model is an editable poly... in the ribbon, select modeling/ Geometry(All)/Quadrify All.
Also, if you want to find ngons.... select all the faces, in the ribbon, under selection at the end By Numeric you can select = and then the number of sides... so >4 will show ngones ones you click the arrow icon
Anyone by chance know if one of these can do a cylindrical projection style, while maintaining it's current edge borders? End goal is to achieve mapping that's straight across but keep the existing space. (while sacrificing some perfection)

On paper Unwella looks great but I found practice it's not that useful.

Most of the plugins you've mentioned are already dead. Roadkill is not updated since 2017, TexTools is not updated since 2010.
For example, finding out wNice tutorialch notes fit into a particular chord (chords make up the basis of most soft) - you don't need to even know

Yes you're right, Unfold 3D is dead.. no update,

What about a remesher, for 3d max , complicated mesh always need z remesh cause 3d max topology is weird
There's nothing like Quad Remesher. Not sure if it's available for 3DS, but it is for Maya and Blender of course. Check it out. It rocks!!

Unwrella is alive and supported for 3Ds Max 2020.
