    Just subbed to your channel. Great ops session and you had some help. Makes me look forward to having my granddaughter when she gets older helping out on my ops sessions. Thanks for sharing and ill try to catch the live session. Take care

      Great, thanks for the subscription! It is fun to see them getting involved and that they actually want to get involved on their own.

    Thanks for sharing Eric - and your kids did a great job, it's fantastic that you involve them in the hobby (are they on union rates???!!!)

      Certainly and thanks for watching! Since it's a shortline, they aren't part of a union. ;)

    Thanks for taking us along for the ops session! :) Nice to see your two daughters are also enjoying the railroad.

    It was fun to have your daughters working the train. Takes some patience, I'm guessing. But they did a great job with train speeds and getting the cars where they needed to be.

      Yep, definitely a little patience! They had some trouble in this video since they are used to the ProtoThrottle, which is a little easier to figure out than the NCE throttle. But yes, they seem to do well with the speeds overall!

    Thank you for sharing. What is the tool you use to uncouple cars?

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You bet! It is a plastic tool that is used to repair radios, which I filed down to a point with a slight flat edge to use in the couplers.

    Eric, quick question. Using the electrical connectors for flags, switches, and chocks... Yellow is for the switch, moved by the conductor? Blue is for the industry and moved by the supervisor? And.. red is just a chock to prevent the car from moving? Do I have the color scheme correct? Thanks Tony

      On my layout, I use yellow for the brake moved by the conductor and blue is for the blue flag moved by the industry/customer. I use red for an EOT or FRED that hooks on a coupler. But you can certainly use them for whatever you want. I have seen the yellow connectors used as derails at industries, for example.

    What are the uncoupling tools being used?

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used some plastic radio repair tools and filed down the end to work in the couplers.

    Are there real switching opportunities in Bellevue?

      In reality, Bellevue does have a couple customers left on the UP, but not much.
