This update is definitely promising for the future of Mario Golf SR imo, though I hope the generic outfit for Toadette isn't a consistent thing between the new characters. Would love to see more creative outfits for the characters.
Yeah, don’t have the game but I know what it’s problems are, but if they do more updates like this then I think people will looker at this game in a better light
They should add Rosalina and add the starship base as a map. Feel like there’s potential there

I hate how Toadette has no golf clothes, EXCEPT for a single glove. Which looks really out of place. Either give her a complete outfit or keep her generic.

It is nice to see they actually designed a course based on speed golf... even if it does appear to screw over many character's specials and basically anyone without an knockback AoE. This is such an oddly designed game.

I want King K. Rool as a character. Imagine K. Rool in a golf uniform with his claws poking out of his gloves and shoes.
While the side games do have a preference on using more of the side cast of Mario, DKC and Wario, i feel like recent side games have completely ignored them. I mean Mario Kart 8 didn't even had Diddy Kong, only DK. Last time i remember the side cast used really well was Mario Super SLuggers of all things

So odd question... but why do people try to chip it in when on the fringe or edge like Wario was 30 times. That is something the AI does because it can't figure out you can just putt it to ensure it goes in the hole.
Or do people not know you can force use the putter?
You can even use the non-putter clubs on the green, from what I recall. You just have to hold up a bit. If your ball gets turned into an egg by a special shot, you can kind of finagle your way to the pin and it'll just immediately drop in after the pin shot from what I heard.
It's typically the default club it recommends to the player based on "grass" type. You can manually choose a different club like they did in the end, but if you are a new player and not familiar with golf it can be hard to initially tell the difference and choose the right clubs. I had this issue when starting out because I don't normally play golf games but when my dad who does play golf games showed it to me it made my play a lot better.
You really shouldn’t do that, the ball putts terribly on non green surfaces.
Plus all these greens in particular are sitting on top of little platforms
@@PhredLevi Not if you're right on the fringe, you just need a decent bit more power... yes from larger distances... but if it is mostly flat or linear just more power. Generally if you're in putter range you're more likely to get the ball in on most courses especially when there are flat greens involved.
Why would I not putt when I can ensure my ball goes into the hole rather then have it be complete random?

I hope we get other courses based on/from Mario games like Sunshine and Galaxy. Like imagine Delfino Square or Honey Hive/Good Egg Galaxy as courses.
Delfino square is a good one, But they'll probably go for a flatter course like comet observatory for the galaxy games, since I don't see them adding gravity manipulation for just one course.
@@garden6008 Yeah, the only reason I didn't say the Observatory was that it's kinda small and compact compared to Delfino or New Donk. They'd have to upscale it without making it look weird.
I think Honey Hive could work well since it doesn't have a lot of gravity mechanics and can look good upscaled.
@@bfnmo7750 a stage with like 3-4 small flat planets would be perfect, sort off a best of Mario galaxy but ill take lots of effort. but yeah Honey Hive would also make lots of sense.
I reckon Bobbomb battlefield would make an awesome course.
Based on the description of weird voice doubling and strangeness, Vinny’s audio problem sounds a lot like phase issues.
Based on the limited information presented, it’s pretty hard to diagnose the cause, but practically phase distortion happens because the same audio is playing twice but ever so slightly out of sync.
The first two games were intense

@@Gorkhin It is based on the worst person in the lobby, you have 1 bar so you won't notice any lag as you're the one causing it unless someone else is also causing it.

This is the "comfy" Nintendo that Vinny often refers to. They're too successful for their own good so they get lazy and complacent with their games and design and business decisions. Humble Nintendo, when they've fucked up so royally that they're hurting is usually when we get the really good shit. Cause at that point they know they can't keep fucking up and need to get their shit together. It's a cruel cycle.

Does Vinny understand the concept of high ground/low ground when is hitting the ball? He always overshoots low ground ones and undershoot upper ones…
He doesn't, no. If something is far below you you really have to underhit it and far above means you have to really overhit (and use strong upward spin), but casual Mario Golf players are probably not going to know/remember how elevation affects shots, so I don't blame him.

Seems he doesn't, and it's too bad, because he actually is pretty good at making his shots and putts otherwise. I also noticed that he doesn't seem to be aware that curving your shot upwards means it will travel less distance. (To be fair I don't think the game tells you about that)
@@hananezumi yeah he is good, on the holes with same elevation he usually does very well.
@@hananezumi It isn't that bad distance wise in this game from what I noticed. Aiming high it ends up pretty close to the same spot while low gives it incredible roll. The only time you'll get a meaningful impact is with some decent wind.

Simultaneous play with power shots on in standard golf mode is just a dumb way to play. Playing like that you just end up with a game of chicken.
Pokémon Snap received an update too with 3 new courses and new Pokémon. Meanwhile, Animal Crossing still gets nothing.

Is Nintendo allergic to rollback netcode or something? This would, perhaps, be the perfect game to implement it on, considering there are so few opportunities for players to actually affect one another, and yet they still stubbornly use delay-based. It's kind of ridiculous.
Unfortunately, a really small subset of Nintendo Gamers even know what rollback netcode is - I think millions of consumers just expect that Nintendo did their best with the online features. Which is why there isn't enough complaining. Which is why they will continue to use an ancient delay-based netcode standard. Oh well. Can't win 'em all
@@gmunny46 It isn't just the consumers who expect Nintendo did their best... it is also those who just give up with a whatever we lost. Despite Nintendo being judged harshly for what it does unlike other companies the fans don't boycott it or do anything to show they are upset.
Pokemon, Mario, Animal Crossing... they have a unique series that nothing else competes with which places fans in a terrible position. You have no proper substitute for Pokemon. None for Mario. No for Animal Crossing.
Nintendo doesn't even have to listen, Nintendo showed it didn't listen as it opened its theme park mid pandemic.

Imo, the new Ratchet and Clank was quality enough to be considered a Halo/Mario/etc for Sony. Beloved franchise with a brand new awesome entry. Also even though Demon Souls is an old game, they remade it from the ground up and it's phenomenal. And then it comes with Astrobot, a super fun platformer, for free! Hope Vinny plays them all eventually when he gets a PS5 so he understands what the hype is about :)
Hey Vinny I know you don't pay attention to tutorials in games but you need to use more power when shooting uphill and less power when shooting downhill. That's why you keep overshooting holes that are at lower elevation and bouncing off the side of the building when trying to hit a green that's at higher elevation. Please do better thanks
