Great edits and examples. I’ve never been a big fan of widebody kits. However... money no object... I would totally love to own one of those widebody Gemballa 500 SEC’s from those Miami Vice years. Or actually any of those insane overdone body/interior kits (some 928’s, some slant noses or some MB 1000 S-Class kits went a little too insane). Thanks for another entertaining video.

BTW, Shelby didn't want the 427 in the Cobra, that was Ford. Shelby refused to put the 427 in the street version of the Cobra. He did do it for a few friends, though. Ford's engineers did most of the chassis and body changes to make it work and made a deal with AC to incorporate the changes into their car and Ford would export V8 engines to their factory in England that they could put in their cars in exchange. Previously, they used a 2.0L i6 (AC 100hp and Bristol 120hp) in the Ace and a Ford 260 V8 in the Cobra. Both the Bristol and the Ford 260 were discontinued. The Ford 289 and 427 V8s were not intended to be exported to England. AC had already modified the Ace to use the Ford 2.6L i6 Zephyr engine and were experimenting with V8 engines from Chrysler and Chevy for the Cobra. Shelby had an import contract for the Cobra in North America. Ford wanted the Cobra to compete with the Corvette, which had 327 and 427 V8s available.
Forgot the Holden Torana SS/A9X, came with a factory wide body kit. Or try the Mazda RX7 - Allan Moffat Group C (1983).

I do like RWB, Rocket bunny, a little bit of Pandem, and Re Amemiya body kits just to name a few.
It may not be as iconic as all the other cars on this list, but the Challenger Demon also looks amazing compared to a regular R/T.

Maserati Granturismo MC "Anti-virus" body kit. It's currently a one off kit but good god it's sexy as hell.

Please take a look at the Audi RS6 (c7.5) Prior Design PD600R Widebody Kit. It makes the RS6 to such an beauty in my opinion.^^
I’m surprised that the Datsun Fairlady Z06 wasn’t on this list. Essentially a 240/260z that was fitting with a C6 corvette drivetrain. It’s gorgeous if no one has checked it out yet

My personal favorite widebody kit car is the M3 GTR from NFS Most Wanted.
Fiat 500 arbath (the original rally version of the 1960s (similar time to the Shelby AC Cobra) is the widest set of flares I've ever seen, they almost make the car double in width (it's tiny to start with).
Black and Gold GT-R 35 body kit It's very cool (made by Liberty walk)
Voomerang golf 1 and 2 and the lto kits for the e30

After being in the tuner world for twenty years I'm inclined to agree with Brad at this point. I liked them when I was younger although I only liked a few, most were covered in fake vents galore and had no basis on performance. LW makes the nicest ones right now but there is a reason you don't see them on the track too much. In real life they tend to look ghetto up close and only photograph well. The tires rub on all of them and the suspension geometry goes out the window.
I still believe the Shelby Cobra is the single most beautiful combination of function and form....the single most handsome car in auto HISTORY (wow, no room to question that, huh....)
The pandam golf is also a good one

In fact, that car doesn't even need any body kit to look cool.
This is the second biggest thing that is missing in the MK5. transmission. The first thing missing is the manual transmission.

Personally I like rocketbunnys aero v1 kit for the s14, it keeps the stock Zenki front end and it looks like a subtle, angry, and just….it screams “don’t mess with me” while not being overly flashy, overly aggressive, and screaming “LOOK AT ME”

I think in the honorable mentions list I think the Volvo Polestar 1 wide body kit (seen in NFS: Heat cover) should’ve been mentioned. The electric car is truly a masterpiece with that body kit.

I know very little let’s be honest.
In my opinion, every wide body kit with a "bolted on" look is horrible from an appearance standpoint.
That's why I love for example the Tesla Model S Bodykit from Prior design
Edit: another amazing Wide body kit is the RWB VW Beetle, it looks so much better than before.

I don't like it because it doesn't look clean, it looks like an after thought and something someone without any knowledge just bolted on.
the “bolted on” look gives it credit for not being stock. Having a clean look is indistinguishable whether the car is stock or not. Also, having a clean look doesn’t have that much “road presence” so it will look like any other stock car of the same model and not have any speciality.
I still preferer my Japanese early-2000s kits over the bolt ons too, but I do agree that some of those kits from that era do be everlasting looks wise as the time moves on
