holy sh$t i spent $140 on kreg joint, and this guy just showed me how to DIY my own pocket hole. Bravo sir not all hero's wear capes some just wear tool belts.
Paul used the wrong kind of screws. Look at the head of the ones he used. A screw that is suitable for a pocket hole will have a flat underside of the head. Paul's screws are going to act like a wedge and potentially split the wood.
love ya buddy!! u help me so much. retired Corpsman who sat on his ass for 6 months before realizing I needed to get up and do something. PTSD and depression were doin a number on me until I saw 1 of your videos and you woke me up!! Keep me awake, ok? Much Respect!!
Hi Paul, old retired Corpsman here getting into woodworking and ur the best teacher I've found on youtube. The smaller models help me to understand more. Going to start building a workshop shed a bit bigger than what you're doing here. Wish me luck...
Awesome video about the doors. So many tips for people like me who have never done this stuff before and need all the advice they can get (like the overlap, the gapping, the door stops, etc.). Also, great to be able to find the hardware and equipment you recommend. The ladder safety system looks amazing. The worst part about going up on the ladder is getting down, and that looks like it would make a huge difference, having something to hold the ladder steady as you took the first step back onto it.
I've watched a few of your videos on building sheds. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for taking the extra time and extra effort to help people.
Great video! Efficient, informative, practical. I can tell you’ve done this a while. I’ve watched it before , after a years .., now building doors to replace broken roll up. Thanks
Thanks man, your video made me finally see the light. I’ve been looking at how to build my doors for the longest time. This is the only video that I’ve found that will show exactly how to frame in and match up shed doors. Thank you so much.
I have the old style brackets. They work well when you take the time to put them on. I didn’t take the extra 5 minutes to put them on once. The ladder slipped sideways due to uneven ground. I had a very painful bruise on one foot but no broken bones. I always take the time now to be safe. I really like the extensions you demonstrated. 👍🏻👍🏻
REALLY LIKE THE LADDER HOOK UP. I ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE SAFE WAYS TO DO THINGS AS A HOME DIY PROJECT SEEKER. NOTHING BETTER THAN BEING SAFE ON THE JOB SITE SO YOU CAN RETURN FOR OTHER PROJECTS THAT REQUIRE A SAFE MIND OF THOUGHTS AT ALL TIME NOT ONLY FOR MYSELF BUT OTHERS WORKING IN THE AREA.
Nice Video clip! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one off product for building better sheds and woodworking without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy at last got excellent results with it.
Cheers for the Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (search on google)? It is a good one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 after a lifetime of fighting got cool results with it.
Thanks Paul! My son in law and I used your plan to change his shed from single door to double door on an old frame shed. Door design and tips worked beautifully, especially since the shed is sunk a little on one side, and not exactly level or plumb!
Wish I had those safety rails on my 16 ft ladder yesterday. After a terrible hail storm on Monday it was time to look for damage on the roof. I was so uncomfortable having to reach down with not enough of the ladder to grab onto. They look great as an owner of a handyman business, they look a lot better than the old stabilizers. I like the u-bolt idea.
I love how you just throw your tools down where you work. So many are gentle and afraid that the "break it" if there too "manly" with them. My only wish is that had seen this about 5 yrs ago. A few things I'd done differently. Another great vid, thanks.
Many thanks. I replaced a shed door off of an old cedar shed. It still had good bones, but the door needed replacing. I wish I could post a picture, with your video assistance, it turned out great!
Dean Chanley Have been looking for something like the ladder safety rails for about two years now when downsized my home to single level height. I'm 72 years old and getting on my roof to check out the shingles and various holes that need resealing I'm sure (can hear water from around chimney hitting fireplace sometimes in heavy rains) but can't quite muster the guts to climb up there. Will be searching out the kit and looking forward to trying it out asap. In mean time will just use a bucket. Happy to have found this video as was originally looking for info on making new shed doors since mine are nearly rotted away. Hit the jackpot in a two for one here. Thanks much. Am now subscribed too.
This is a fantastic invention. I am in a position where I have to push safety all day long. Safely getting on and off a ladder has always been a difficult area. These will really help.
I can't thank you enough for your videos on the shed build. Im building a 8x16 unit this weekend. Your videos have been very helpful. The ladder rails are a freaking awesome idea. So perfect!! As an RN they will keep people from coming into my ER from a fall!
For me being 50 years old with 2 knee injuries and prob with ankle from a break 3 years ago, this ladder system would make me feel so much safer being able to go down and stay stable safely. I love it.
Wow, I am a 60 year old , with a divorced daughter who wants to learn to do things on her own and eventually teach her sons a thing or two, your videos are soooo simple to understand!!! and the reviews on products are awesome, love the safety rails and pads since my daughter is also a safety freak. lol
Being 60 this year and more to lose. I'd like to have a set of these. Seems perfectly safe. Thanks for this info Paul and thanks for helping out someone for nothing.
Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Consultant and seeing a lot of injury’s from slip, trips, and falls, I can see the benefit of using this ladder add-on. Great job again Paul!
I've reviewed dozens of videos. Paul's is the simplest, clear cut method to getting your double doors to fit properly with minimum adjustments, one backing and one frame.
The tutorial on shed doors was just what I was looking for, thanks! The ladder safety device is something else I can use. That would have been handy for a roof repair I needed to to on my two story home.
nice one.. ladder rails are a great idea.. also that little worx saw made to slide along a strait edge is a great idea.. if you don't have a need for a track saw on a daily basis, it looks great for cutting sheet goods or maybe cutting some doors down..
Love the ladder modification. I had my tricked out extension ladder stolen from my back porch, and I just bought a new one to add the accessories to it. Those rails are brilliant, and the over sized bumpers make almost idiot-proof. Great idea!
This ladder attachment is amazing! This will take the fear of falling away when you step back on the ladder, from the roof. Makes the transition of stepping on to and off of the roof much safer! You will still need your ladder tied to or attached to the roof or a joist. Bravo! Nice job!
Great Video! Simple, easy to follow, and Thorough! allot of these video's I'm left with more questions. This went through all your steps one by one and gave very Clear information including how you measured out (one of the most important things). Great helpful installation tips along the way including Tool Tips!! Just subscribed, and will look for other videos.
I don't mind ladders its the getting on and off is the worse... a cracking idea for the ladder hope he succeeds in getting this idea running! Paul please keep up the great work and the videos!!
superb channel. Just clean good work. I'm a handyman and I'm always learning new things. Everyone has great tricks. Your a magician. Keep up the good work.
That's a pretty well thought out ladder system. I like how it's impossible to step on a rail above the fulcrum point, which could dislodge the base of the ladder. Also, the curved handles make it unlikely that you would load the top such to leverage out the base. The force should generally flow down the rails which is what you want.
Wow, Really awesome piece to put on your ladders. Such a pain worrying about scratching something & you can easily go backwards down with it. Great must have!!!
Love the ladder attachment...as an old DIY'r and a prior OSHA instructor, I'm always looking for things to help stabilize me when getting on or off a ladder. Not to mention this tol looks to be a rain gutter saver.
The ladder safety rails are an awesome idea. Safety should always be the main concern when working on a project but many don’t use a lot of safety features because there inconvenient. The ladder safety rails are fantastic. I sure would use them every time I am on a ladder. These would make my work a lot safer, which makes my wife very happy.
You’re right about that Mark. What Dept. Do you work for? I have 3 more years and I’ll go in the drop! I love my job snd my crew but I am looking forward to only working 1 job. 😂 Have a good night brother!
Great video as usual. A couple of things I noticed, That 2x4 sure was wet, you could see the water running out of the wood when you were demonstrated how to make a pocket hole. I also notice you don't use eves troughs on your home. That rail system you add to your ladder is fantastic. Nice of you to help out the inventor.
Hi Paul! Thank you for all of your shed videos! I am just finishing up building my 12x8 shed, mostly based off of your TH-cam vids. I just need to build the doors now. I did a bit of small sheds, additions, and shingling with my dad around 15 yrs ago, but needed some refreshers and you have been a great resource and confidence builder for me. I really appreciate you! That safety for the ladder is awesome! Wish I had that when I did my shingling as a guy can always use that sense of safety and also not scar up his drip edge & shingles when in a hurry to get it done before rain comes. Keep up the great work, my man. You are an inspiration to us DIY’ers who ask ourselves “can I do this on my own?”. God bless.
Regarding the doors. Specifically the last step, putting up the door stop. I always cut my top piece first and put this in place before I so the side pieces. I always figured this way I know the doors will close against that top piece and I know they are straight with each other. Then when I do the two sides, I know I can pull the doors closed against that top piece and put my sides door stops in place knowing the doors are align with each other. Am I not thinking correctly? You did it the exact opposite, doing the sides first and top piece last.
the ladder rails look like a great idea. being a carpenter a long time and having busted up knees and bing older, getting on and off the roof would be much safer with these.
Simple Door for a simple mind! I like it and i'm always ready to use pocket screws. Thanks for the no BS way of making this door! That ladder device would be a shingle saver on my place. I'm getting one when I can.
Hey Paul we are just finishing up a 12 X 24 shed your vedio on the door construction was great to save a few bucks we used the cut offs from the 5 quarter door jamb for the door stops. We are trying to match the groves on the door with the groves on the T1-11 if you have any tips I would appreciate it.
I really like the ladder extension, especially when one hand is occupied carrying a tool or bucket or material, watching you climb onto the roof like walking up some stairs with your blower highlighted the ease and safety of the attachment. Good luck to the inventor, hope he makes a million bucks 🙂

The safety rails are an awesome idea! I find it hard to find the rungs on the way back down and the added extension would make it much easier and safer to climb down. A few safety tips though: 1. If you have the ability to tie the ladder off to something, like the columns on the porch, tie the ladder up before ascending for the first time. 2. Be sure to make use of the feet on the ladder for placing it on soft surfaces. Most quality straight/extending ladders have feet that flip up to become 'spikes' to help it dig into the ground where applicable. This will prevent the bottom from sliding out on slick, soft surfaces. I've learned quite a lot from you and am glad I subscribed! Thank you and hope to be learning more from you as time goes on.
Those safety rail for the ladder look awesome! About 8 years ago when attempting to clean out my gutters. My ladder slipped and went thru our front picture window! No one was hurt, except my pride. If I had the safety rail system it wouldn't have happened. Thank for the video Paul !
The ladder rails are a cool solution for safer us; good job. Does it install on an extension ladder that is fully collapsed? Assuming you install it once and leave it on a dedicated ladder, does that system help any other use case? For instance, loading your ladder on the roof rack of your truck. I appreciate invention that solves multiple problems. How much weight are you adding to the top of the ladder, does it make it more unwieldy? Thanks…
Safety rail kit is a good concept. Does it need both sides or can one side suffice? Seems most work going up/down you have a tool in one hand. One recommendation: maybe a tether strap to that safety U-bolt. I could see that get lost. The strap might connect to the U-bolt end-fastener to keep the whole ensemble together
holy sh$t i spent $140 on kreg joint, and this guy just showed me how to DIY my own pocket hole. Bravo sir not all hero's wear capes some just wear tool belts.
Don't feel bad I myself have spent a lot of money on what seemed like a good idea at the time only to find out I didn't need to.
But, the Kreg jig gives you a perfect hole every time.
Paul used the wrong kind of screws. Look at the head of the ones he used. A screw that is suitable for a pocket hole will have a flat underside of the head. Paul's screws are going to act like a wedge and potentially split the wood.
By far the best video on TH-cam on how to build shed doors!

Cool ladder tool. I’m a Chinney Sweep. I could use this 100%
So good! The story, the riding, the scene, the music, everything is just perfect!
Thanks, Paul. I too have the Ryobi 18 gauge AirStrike brad nailer. Mine, however, doesn't like to be cold, it won't work in cold weather.

Great video, super educational and useful... everyone else on the internet shows you the before and after but not every step do get it done. Love it.
I wish I had those when I was redoing my roof. I have to admit that is a great invention, I wish that gentleman all the luck.

Many thanks. I replaced a shed door off of an old cedar shed. It still had good bones, but the door needed replacing. I wish I could post a picture, with your video assistance, it turned out great!
The dyi, pocket hole trick is awesome, thanks for sharing
The ladder tool at the end, YES that's an awesome invention.
Your pocket hole instructions were great. I tried it today and it worked perfectly the first time. Thanks Paul!
The ladder safety rails are a great idea! Getting on and off the ladder is always when I have the most anxiety and these would make a huge difference!

The Safety Rails are great. I don't have a problem getting up on a roof, I have trouble getting down. These are a great safety tool.
Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Consultant and seeing a lot of injury’s from slip, trips, and falls, I can see the benefit of using this ladder add-on. Great job again Paul!

Retired Firefighter here. Awesome additional safety addition. Beats the three rung above the roof line rule.
What a great tool! Ladder safety is paramount to any person or company! Paul, as usual, great show. I watch all the time!!!
This ladder attachment is amazing! This will take the fear of falling away when you step back on the ladder, from the roof. Makes the transition of stepping on to and off of the roof much safer! You will still need your ladder tied to or attached to the roof or a joist. Bravo! Nice job!
great new tool -- I used to use tennis balls on top of ladders but weren't anchored well like his. very nice touch w/the u bolt also
That ladder safety is pretty awesome! These videos are super helpful! Just started doing DYI and handy work around the house and your videos rock!
Safety Rail Kit is a great safety tool for high up areas and for small projects or large great idea , love it,
Paul is straight JACKED, man! Those ladder stabilizer things are wonderful. I don't mind heights but I absolutely loathe ladders.

I like the ladder extender with the handles idea and the ring stop , would definitely make coming down a lot easier
Love the safety rails and the two rubber yellow safety mechanism. Where can we get these?
Wow!! Those ladder safety rails are super nice. Thats the most sketchy of a ladder is getting on and off a roof. Awesome Job!
The ladder modification will revolutionize ladder safety. Love the idea! Please let me know to get the system.
I’m gonna have to check out that saw! I like the idea of being able to get right on the line
Wow, Really awesome piece to put on your ladders. Such a pain worrying about scratching something & you can easily go backwards down with it. Great must have!!!
The ladder roof rails are amazing. Inventor kick ass on this one!
Very nice, light and it takes care of the issue of climbing on and off the roof with a higher degree of safety!
Love those ladder rails…what a great idea which makes it so much safer to get on a roof
The ladder safety rails are fantastic. Paul you seem to always have very useful tips. Thanks.
Love the advice on DYI pocket holes ! As well as the door. Will give this a try on my shed.
Wow every video I walk away with more knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. God bless
Paul the invention is a great ideal! Totally solves the OSHA requirements for having 3' grab space beyond the ladder. I'm in!
Love the ladder attachment...as an old DIY'r and a prior OSHA instructor, I'm always looking for things to help stabilize me when getting on or off a ladder. Not to mention this tol looks to be a rain gutter saver.

The ladder safety rails are fantastic. I sure would use them every time I am on a ladder. These would make my work a lot safer, which makes my wife very happy.
That is awesome. I'm a retired fireman. When you get old, those hand rails come in handy.

For the ladder, if they can put an adjustment on it so you can adjust the width, that would be great when you need to span a window.
Simple Door for a simple mind! I like it and i'm always ready to use pocket screws. Thanks for the no BS way of making this door! That ladder device would be a shingle saver on my place. I'm getting one when I can.
Awesome part for roof ladder as it appear to be safe and I like how doors were done!
Hey Paul we are just finishing up a 12 X 24 shed your vedio on the door construction was great to save a few bucks we used the cut offs from the 5 quarter door jamb for the door stops. One recommendation: maybe a tether strap to that safety U-bolt. I could see that get lost. The strap might connect to the U-bolt end-fastener to keep the whole ensemble together
I enjoyed your shed door build. And found the ladder recommendation interesting
Nice to see a professional at work!!
Great accessory to the ladder. Hope he gets the patten so we can find in Home Depot stores, 2 thumbs up
Cool safety rails, adds some security while working up high.
