I've gps tested the 2017 Tuono and the speedo is very accurate.. so you probably may have seen 200 mph.. I have one in the garage now and can confirm it's a handful on the commute 😂
At high speeds (170-~205) the speedometer does not match GPS. It is way above than the actual speed and requires more distance for the bike to truly reach the speed the speedo shows.
Heretic Anthem do you know who Lambchop rides is? Ever seen his channel? Dude knows his stuff, he didn't jsut make up what he said and post it on his friends channel. I'd put s little more faith in his thoughts as a bit of an expert .

@@MZ-bl6wg Well I own the Tuono that chops reviewed. GPS tested on two separate occasions: Both times, 170 mph speedo = 160 mph real speed. 5.9% differential. Do with that what you will. I don't consider that "very accurate" but it's not bad either.

I'm not sure why manufacturers bother bringing other motojournalists to bike launches. 44Teeth does SUCH a good job. If you (44T) have the opportunity to review the new Tuono with the electronic suspension, please do so. It is my current dream bike.

Exactly - if was brand new this year, look great but iffy due to classic/retro looks, deliberate overstyling. As this is the original, it's simply classic. No problem.
Honestly I've never liked the RSV4 styling, I was hoping they would change it just for that alone
It looks dated. The RS 660's styling should've been applied to the V4 bikes first.
I don't want them to change the style , many manufacturers when they start changing stuff on their bike they get lost and the bike loses it's signature look

There calles T Hinges and I would guess they chose that way due to the positioning of the light switch and in so the door takes up the least amount of space in that tiny room.

Braceses should come loose so you can turn them round if needed and fix properly when hanging the door.
Your door is braced the wrong way it will drop and cause issues like a tyre the wrong way round. Can’t believe you haven’t noticed

Although, the 1100 is freaking brilliant.

Great review, still think Panigale V4 has it overall. Arbitrary question I’m trying to obtain new insurance quote for multi bike policy, I watched an interview with you with a bloke from insurance but can’t remember or find it now can you refresh my memory and I’ll give em a buzz. I’m with Carole Nash they make you feel like they are doing you a favour, Bennett’s won’t quote on one of the bikes, you think with 9 years no claims and a garage like Fort Knox they’d love to take my hard earned apparently not!

As much as i like the rsv maybe a design change ie fairing tailpiece etc, as frame is pretty damn good! I know the copperpot wings look ally. But i reckon more could have been done. Still will trade a bollock for one though!
i really dont know what kinda people are asking for visual improvements. sure its 10yo but itll still look stunning in another 10 years.
Check the Aprilia RS660 concept, that kind of improvement would be nice, wouldn't it ?
I wish I was still young and strong enough to handle track days... And there is a good track near me. I pilot a piano these days though so life is still rich.

For everyday what’s the best bike ? RSV4 or Tuono ? Actually i’ve MT-10SP but the V4 engine is just lovely sound so i would like change but i don’t know beetween RSV4 and Tuono ! I ride everyday and on the year i’m on 25.000 or 30.000km so i didn’t answer for my question !

Lovely review as always. I'm planning on taking one of these out for a test ride next week and I'm so damn excited after seeing it in person at COTA last weekend. Also, have you seen Sena's new all in one helmet with an action camera? Could be a good option for tracks that won't allow a gopro so you can get on board footage :)

Just got back from nurburgring on my 2019 Tuono 1100 - literally the do it all bike
No electronic suspension, terrible retro digital orange dash, not really updated lighting package or design update, plus, not a class leading ICU is its downfall. Its V4 is class leading in the sound department, aluminium swing arm looks amazing, but BMW's HD LED screen is a gamechanger, Ducati's V4 carbon wings, is a design gamechanger that all manufacturers will follow. Aprila has a very small support network, they don't include 'breakdown' support and their models loose more value than other manufacturers, just the facts. Awesome bike though.

I currently have the 2015 rsv4rr in an identical colour, there is a 2019 1100 factory in a dealership near me, this is my bike + £8,000 total £15,000 the bike has done 1600 miles is the change in machine worth the extra money?

These videos from 44Teeth from the last year or two lead me to believe that the motorcycle industry is pumping out absolute gem after absolute gem. Even more so than in the mid 2000's. And those bikes are still good. So here's an idea for a video.
Most fun (not best!) motorcycles since 2000 all the way up to 2019. Fun factor and possibly bang for your buck is where it's at. Extreme engineering feats are not necessarily the main point of focus - superbikes derive most of their fun from how stupendously good they are on track. But fun is a difficult thing to define. You two gentlemen have a thing for vocalising the hard to grasp. So to make a video, possibly complete with tracktime on the respective bikes, of the most fun motorcycles since 2000 will be one giant whopper of a project. One that will pay off, because if my assumption is correct, you lads regularly being invited to racetrack events, unveilings, first impressions etc means to me you are becoming high profile motorcycle journalists. So for you to motivate your reasons for a comprehensive list of great bikes may very well elevate that status even further.
I am a 2017 1290 KTM SDR owner, and I was pumped to find out it was your #1 choice for the best bikes of the year video. That's the kind of feeling it would evoke for people to hear their choices further reinforced.

The Panigale V4 S is a far superior bike. Says who? Most everyone except you, apparently. And you're not even comparing the RSV4 to the V4 R. Dafuq?
Nah, they're right to compare it with the V4S. The V4R is the version that makes the Ducati race legal. It's 1000cc. The V4S is the 1100. The difference between the 2 is large. The RSV4 is similar to the V4R in terms of power and speed, but its nearly half the price (20k vs 35k).

Yes but who really cares about these bikes on the road. The first thing I'd do is replace all the fairings with fiberglass :)
But some of us only ride on the road so LED’s are a must plus i would go full carbon fairings

Not sure if I missed it but what was the lap time did you do? I saw on the dash 2:07,, was that the Italian dude or Fagan?
Sad that Ducati won't allow the V4R to be tested directly but of course the RSV4 1100 will do better for most riders, it has more displacement and generally softer bikes are easier to ride so non-pro riders can extract more from them. A V4R on the other hand actually probably much more difficult to extract it's max potential because well, it's more hardcore. The V4S, in our group at mugello we were doing 325kp/h before braking. On that V4S I do not recall brake fade as well. A real proper test would be this bike vs the V4S with the akra. I'm sure you can just rent a V4S from a viewer if Ducati won't provide.
I own a '16 RSV4 Tuono 1100 Factory and I actually don't like it, it's actually quite uncomfortable for the road for me. The Plus Minus on the left hand controls are so horribly positioned as well that I press them all the time unknowingly while riding. I know it's detuned a bit from the Superbike but the engine felt very characterless as well.
i think it's the best looking bike on the market. Only bike that looks better is the rsv1000r

Lovely jubbly! I get what you're saying about dealer network etc...but in a way that adds to the experience as it's a rare bit of kit. Every town has a Mercedes dealership, but where would you take a Pagani for it's service? I'm a Ducati fan...I've bought three in the last year (admittedly none were Panigale's) but I'm going to buy either a Panigale or an RSV4 this year subject roadtest, and I'm actually hoping the Aprilia comes out top.

I own an 18 RF and I love it dearly. THISSSSS??!?!? C'MON Aprilia! Now whats a guy to do... dammit...ugh what a hit ill take. Its like do I take a big fat hit or just keep it and add to the collection...perhaps use that as the track bike. And I told myself my next purchase was going to be a car...LOL
