The Aprilia V4 sound is better than the Ducati V4 sound
Since the Tuono and the OEM Akra you get this beautiful sound already. I meant legal Akra. Of course since even longer you get it with maps and exhausts
when Shiv (OpenFlash) put it on his dyno, he got 208.5 on the wheel... bike full stock, no tunes or anything at all; 208+ rwhp is absolutely amazing

Bought a '18 Tuono last Oct before winter, and now have 2200 miles; absolutely love this bike.
Always loved aprilia they go the extra mile compared to other manufacturers and throw alot of the bits in that we all normally pay extra for. Superb bike, lovely sound and if you can afford one just buy and enjoy, life ain't a rehearsal, get out there and have some fun! Thanks for the brilliant video and review keep them coming!

In fact, the aprilia anti-wheelie system change the ignition advance timing to modulate torque, instead of just cutting the injection.

I just ordered a 2020 RSV4 Factory 1100 as last new one never sold at Aprilia shop in Germany is on its way here in Spain. This bikes sounds like Aleix Espargaro's MotoGP bike. Just slap a decat SC-Project crt exhaust and Brembo RC-19s and voilà! This review you did was excellent. Good humor and insights. Cheers Chopsy

This is the best road test I've seen on TH-cam - you get the riders enthusiasm and get a feel for the bike.
Looking at the Pommy back ground is interesting as well - it is narrow, confined and effing dangerous - in villages and towns and the so called open road. And it looks effing damp and cold to boot.
I used to live there. It's completely gorgeous and I miss it. Spent 100's of hours on those roads (meaning those actual roads) on 2 wheels, both motorised and pedal! Stuck in economic exile in NC USA, can't afford a house in England. It's also great for walkers, a vast and intricate network of public rights of way. Villages, pubs and wonderful walks, you don't really get what a treasure they are until you don't have them.

I have a Tuono love the V4 sound!!! your videos convinced me to buy one last year!!! no more videos.............please. I just got a Multi 1260s for touring this year. Whilst being services today I road a V4 Ducati with full Aka system.........WOW but too much power for the road and serious speed!! Great video Chops Wheels will do ya a deal :) I got my Tuono from them.
Best sounds for sure! I have a 2001 Honda VFR and this Aprilia sounds like the Honda V4 at full song. Mine has a Micron exhaust and it sounds great! But, certainly doesn't have 217 horsepower!!
This is really my favorite bike. Ended up with a more sensible V4 though. Picked up a Honda VFR1200F
When you get something right, there's no reason to change it!
That design may be old but it's still one of the sexiest bikes

I genuinely love GSXRs as I've said before & while the RSV4 is undeniably a stunning piece of exotica & a total weapon, I'm expecting the GSXR to be more comfortable, more reliable & a better all rounder & road bike. I'm also guessing after your mods, the RSV4 won't humiliate it by any means, bless it.

Throttle sensitivity from highest to lowest. Sport, Race, Track. I prefer Race for the street. Looking forward to the next video, great content as usual.
It does seem a bit confusing how they done it, why not just a rain mode, road/race mode and a track mode?

@@Lawson7086 that's correct, at least on my 2016 Tuono; in Race it has less engine braking than Track... which I like when doing laps at the local track; for street I use Track mode, not just because of a wee more engine braking but also because it smoothens the throttle response (the on/off feeling) a bit; Sport mode I only tried a few times... it felt a bit 'choppy', haven't used it in 2 years or so now
Great review so far. You sounded how I feel when I ride the tuono. This is a track bike or a mad man's road bike.
Thank you I love all your reviews, im 59 I passed my test 30 years ago, now back on bikes re friends and renting, just about to push the button to purchase my first bike as retired and have the time to ride in southern spain, your opinion to me will be major on this purchase, I will be riding on the street 4 days out of 7 for fun, maybe once a year a track day with a friend, the tech on the bikes are all outstanding no problem, my first choice would be the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory love the looks and the sound, but im concerned and put of by the high seating position over the bike, 2nd choice BMW1000RR which does everything and have taken on board what you said about that you seat in the bike, im also 5 ft 9, 31and a half leg, also concerned on the comfort of the legs, 3rd choice, only within the last two weeks is the Kawasaki H2 1000 SX SE plus, not worried about a pillion at all, really interested on your opinions please and thanks again for all you put in to your reviews. haven't ridden any of these bikes yet but will be going to wheels for my test rides on your recommendations as live in UK.
Tough one Mitchel all fantastic bikes you've listed! I think for road riding the S1000RR takes it over the RSV4 as it has the creature comforts like heated grips and a more comfortable riding position. Pegs are high but some rearsets would fix that easy enough, also I would imagine incredible on track! The RSV4 is more of a riding experience what with the sound and aggressive power delivery. The SX is very different all together, very comfortable and effortless speed, in some ways it's too easy and you feel detached from the ride a little... go try them all its the only way to be sure 😁😁👍

What a sound! Incredible to think that this thing is Euro4 compliant. It would be interesting to see if it would pass a trackday noise test as I know some standard Panigale's struggle.
Just picked up a 19 Tuono, like you I own a L8 1000 too. Can't beat the Aprilia and it was quick round nurburgring

There is a guy who dyno compares the Aprilia rsv4 1100 and the ducati V4S on his channel. The ducati has slightly more peak torque at lower rpms but the Aprilia has 208 HP to the wheel. Absolutely insane

I have read it is way more than just the tuono 1100 engine, they have used the rsv4 bottom end with the 1100 bore and pistons then tuned rsv4 heads to get the big power and mid range! 😍

Finally a great looking bike that doesn't scream Aprilia. It too bad that I'm little old too big for this bad boy! How it ever passed Euro 4 with that exhaust note, is beyond me. Love the swing arm very massive with he banana look. Damn one of the best looking bike, they say it has out dated look, who cares. Gold rims would look awesome. 🇨🇦
Small correction, they did have a carbon front mud guard in previous years. I have a 17 RF and ordered it new and it came with that carbon front fender/mud guard.
If its the same as the 2017/18 then the throttle maps will all give the same peak power but the RACE mode will have softer initial pickup and less engine braking - it is smoother not more aggressive to allow getting on the gas easier on corner exit, Sport is more direct 'road' mode with the most engine braking and 'track' would be somewhere in the middle, the maps only affect initial throttle 'smoothness' and engine braking - depending on your personal preference ! sounds awesome that !

I have an Austin racing slip on can (tuono factory)but that Akra with all the euro 4 gubbins sounds almost as good,only the off throttle crackle missing😍

Jesse Taylor tuono is amazing bike. I put the rsv4 intake, block off plates and sc project f1 pipe. Race ecu and flash 195hp. The bike is fast

1100 Tuono engine. I’m presuming it’s still got the titanium valves as that upgrade on the old RSV4 seemed to significantly help the clearance issues that the Tuono can still suffer from.

The reason i sold my rsv4 factory is the reliability issue, other than that its a dam good bike. Suspension, nimble feel, V4 sound, torgue etc it just superb.

Sounds amazing 😍 as good and as beautiful as the previous RSV4 was this was needed 💯 i love everything about this bike apart from the silver coloured rims.... very 90s looking!! But if that’s my biggest complaint its harsh.
