Love your work Robbie, since watching your videos i have taken my fishing to a whole new level and learnt so much. Such a genuine bloke who is not afraid to share his knowledge. Hats off to you bud!!
I’m not having a go at you for forgetting something today, lol. When you were saying the early season was slow, personally I have always found while fishing the upper Ovens, the Buckland and Morses creek (35 years) that the fishing improves into mid October and November. The ease of fishing in those streams improves markedly after the snow melt, and the rivers have dropped and slowed. The snow season has closed a good 3 weeks earlier than the last 7 or 8 years so I expect the good fishing conditions to start by early October this year.
Well I can't seem to find the trout, only doughnuts but at least I can watch you catching trout. Great video Robbie. Keen to see more trout adventures.
What a superb session, Robbie! Love the mixed bag of catches and the final message too - if it doesn’t look like it holds fish, persist because something can switch them on in a moment 😊
Looking good Robbie. Wow your pulling them out one after the other you are the man. Great exciting video. Lovely little streams brings back memories of my younger days. 😊
Thanks so much Vince. Do you have many good trout streams like this in your area? I've seen some lovely little streams in between the lakes in your videos.
@@robbiefishing plenty of streams I'm just not fit enough to go and fish them anymore. Sitting in a boat that floats is all I'm up to these days if i could just get my boat out into the lake. Cheers Robbie.
Awesome work Robbie! That was great to see some trout on the board! The creek looks way better than the other day, it’s been raining for the last 2-3 days here, but they need it, the river (which is tidal) is extremely low, at low tide some bits even become landlocked… Keep up the amazing work! These cod seen to be adapting to the lure changes, with the little plastics! Tight lines bro! 🎣🤙🇦🇺🎣🤙🇦🇺🎣🤙🇦🇺

Hey Robbie, I have a mate who lives in your neck of the woods, he has been trout fishing 5 - 6 times, caught nothing, went out two days ago, caught 12 in 45 minutes, was in total shock, he was using the same combination of soft plastics as he had before, in the same creek he had fished 3 times previously. He is baffled why. Thank you so much mate. That is very reassuring to hear. Haha I love fishing with Holly. She is 15 now and spends a lot of time with her mates. No doubt she will still come fishing with me but I have a feeling it won't be as often.
@@robbiefishingYou’re entering the period in her life where you become a ’wallet with a car’. I can't think of a prettier marked fish than a young Brown Trout. I used to love fishing "skinny water" up at Gloucester Falls but those days are long past :)
Hi mate, the way the Greenies are going, we may have to go fishing for 3 inch Galaxias. Trout are being neglected huge time. They used to be plentiful in the streams.
I’m catching up on some vids !!! Went out today into north east vic for a few hrs only managed one ! But a fair few guys fishing the area I think it’s been heavily fished the past few weeks since opening !!!!
Hi Robbie, another awesome video! Are Macquarie perch native to alpine creeks and stream? It’s always been a dream of mine to bycatch-and-release a Macca whilst trout fishing :)
Thanks mate. They are an upland species, but I don't know whether they extended right up to the Alpine areas. There's quite a few around Wangaratta where I live. I often catch them as a by-catch while targeting other species.
G'day Robbie, love your vids mate. Do you have any recommendations for rod and reel combos for trout/redfin? I'm new to VIC from the NT and have never really fished these types of freshwater fish before. Cheers and keep up the great videos.

I have seen cod try jumping on the larger soft plastics like you'd use for flathead fishing, but its not a huge surprise they'd go for the smaller ones either. All that cold, wet, bucketing down weather has moved up north to me now and its definitely kept me from wandering too far.
Hey Robbie. Love watching your videos I am going down to see my daughter in Kerrang at the end of October Do you reckon there'll be yabbies around then Any hints on good places to fish in that area
Thanks mate. I don't know that area very well sorry. It should be a great time to chase a few yabbies though. Late October and into November is possibly the best time of the year to catch yabbies.
Thanks mate. Sadly, when it comes to trout fishing in Victoria I seem to be having more and more not so good days. I wish some of these streams could be stocked again like they used to be.
