    Really interesting and different take on the AVP, Chris!

      Thanks so much! I was shocked that nobody has put that out there yet.

    RIP to all the parents who's kids demand a visual pro now so they can be the coolest in school.

    I've been working and playing on the internet since the 90's. I've been creating personas and avatars in games and on the internet for just as long (VR for the past 10+ years). Hell, I even do that in the real world playing Dungeons & Dragons with my group. I'm still me, decades later. Haven't lost myself. Haven't forgotten who I am.
    I agree children using VR need to be moderated. I have a 12-year-old son who uses VR and we monitor and limit his use just like we do with all the other devices he has access to. All you are pointing out here is that parents need to limit, monitor, and use parental controls. If this isn't already a part of your parenting, you're doing it wrong.
    Adults are in no more additional "danger" than they are now, spending an average of 2 hours and 14 minutes per day (about one full month per year) scrolling completely mindless social media trash because they are addicted.

      Lots of great points here. Thanks for the comment. I think this is why I sort of preface the video by saying that overtime VR pass-through tech will be indistinguishable from reality even being able to trick human senses. Nothing we’ve ever experienced in the past with VR or games have ever convinced us that it was, in fact real, stimulating people just like reality, and hacking the subconscious mind. I think this is a very important distinction. And yes parents need to parent! 🙌 but what's easier, teaching the masses how to parent or having ethical laws? I honestly don't know which would be easier at this point haha

      @@grantedgeek Thanks for the reply. My nightmare scenario with XR is having someone hacking my device to manipulate me without consent. Think about that for a while. :)

    I was hoping to hear something about immersive videos or something but again, kids and their safety, common, it's about the future of technology and it's great when we have brand new technology and spatial computing, it's amazing!

    It's not practical and glitches a lot. Apple won't fix it, and I'm told I need to buy a new one. Never again.

    Bro , a million thanks to you for pointing this out 🙏
    I wonder why NOBODY other big youtubers say the same ? .
    This vision pros is useless and pathetic destroying the human brain thinking it everything as virtual . I wonder why these types of devices are needed ? LOL
    And people are so crazy to buy these devices.. When i see people using these VR headsets, i feel like they are from other alien world LOL
    Thanks again for pointing it out. HUGE ..HUGE.. respect for you 🙏 for raising voice on this 🙏
    I wish other big youtubers raise their voice on this as well.

      Many thanks! Gotta be willing to say the unpopular things. I believe all tech could be useful to us, but without ethics, we will destroy ourselves.

      Thanks so much! Somebody has to do it. I feel like there's always an ethical side of tech that no one talks about. Glad I'm not the only one who see this stuff!

    Man, let's be honest. This kind of progress is inevitable. Every big leap in tech world always come with doubts and concerns. But all of them couple years later sound like grandpa's grumble. If you are concerned about VR, you also must be concerned about the internet, smartphones, AI and a bunch of other stuff. That's not nearly an argument.

    • @grantedgeek
      @grantedgeek  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Grandpa's grumble? Are you not seeing the very real effect they're having on people in society? We gotta wake up here. Social fabrics are tearing apart at the seems and approved mainstream culture has become an "anything-goes" circus. Technology is not the cause, but it enables increasingly more widespread curruption.

    how is wearing computer monitor on your head can make you believe that you in "non-real, virtual world"? Will you be able to eat there? -NO! Will you sleep there? - NO!! Seems like people associate monitor on a head like this is whole new world. Perhaps they watch too many movies :)

    • @THE326JORDAN
      @THE326JORDAN 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you missed the point. he’s saying that this monitor on the head is the start. the tech will evolve, as he mentioned. for example, down the line it could look like contacts you can keep on your eyes maybe. then there’s no argument of “but what about food??” this video is less about this specific device and more about what dangerous doors this device opens for the future.

    • @a-rezhko
      @a-rezhko 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@THE326JORDAN yes I agree with you, however if you analyze further - typical apple's propaganda these days - that "their new device is so groundbreaking and never existed before, so who knows what going to be in future". This looks like manipulation as there were various headsets before (from facebook, microsoft in particular). And numerous "influencers" tend to amplify this narrative - pretending that apple created new type of device. Which is not true. So this particular device can't claim anything related to future.
