    I’m getting consistently 29-30 miles range in electric only. The most ever 32.5 miles all in city driving. 4xe Sahara zero issues so far at 2500 miles.
    I love it!

    Great review! Currently own a 2020 Rubicon and been watching these for the 7500 credit as well as the very high trade in value. Let’s go pens!

    Having owned one of these for about 9 months now I am sold, the best Jeep I have ever owned. By the way , the regenerative braking needs to be turned on and then you will notice it and that can also allow you to drive one pedal without hitting the brakes so much. Regenerative braking doesn't have much to do with the brakes, it's the electric motor slowing the vehicle down and recharging the battery simultaneously. My Jeep dealer didn't even know that and told me it couldn't be towed because of this which of course was not true. This Jeep can be towed behind my motorhome just like my old 2013 JK.

    As someone who owns a 4XE Sahara and follows the groups online, the check engine is probably the EVAP system leak, which is the gas cap. It uses a pressurized tank and the gas cap is a bit quirky to seat. I found mine loose a couple times when I first got it, the 2nd time triggered the CEL

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't put gas in it the whole week so unless it takes a while to trigger the CEL I'm guessing it might have been something else.

      The gas cap itself! Somehow Jeep makes a gas cap that is capable of failing. I had spent a few hundred dollars trying to get a fix for a check engine problem like this. I was always extremely careful with making sure I put the gas cap was tight and perfectly seated. Had the problem on and off for a few years. Finally a local shop was like, it’s the actual gas cap, it was a $35 fix.

      @@MattMaranMotoring Could be, I just know that they have a habit of wiggling loose on their own, even if they haven’t been opened in awhile. Glad that whatever it wasn’t didn’t effect your drivability at all

    I love doing "the Jeep wave" from my Bronco to all the Wranglers on the road...

    Great review! I love the Jeep Wrangler but the extra weight, complexity and cost would cause me to shy away from this model.

    Wow that steering wheel squeak is super annoying! I have a 2021 and it doesn’t make a noise anywhere!

    After having left “jeep life” a couple years ago, this one doesn’t make me wanna go back lol. No bad blood tho, just do so much highway that a car made more sense

      I hear you. I commute 26 miles and have a charger at work. Jeeps get such horrible mileage that this jeep has me curious.

    There’s no delay when it’s in E-Save mode. E-Save mode in 4H Auto is quickest mode. It’s when it drives like a normal gas car.

    In the near future, these will be listed on used cars sites as one of those "models to avoid..." It's all the normal complications and upkeep with them then cramming in batteries, motors, and more electronics. Imagine servicing this going forward.

    Is MPGE The whole electric range plus a gallon of gas?

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No the MPGe rating applies only to the electric motors, and the regular MPG rating applies exclusively to the gas engine operation. Unfortunately there's no rating that blends the two.

    I was getting 25+ mpg on the 2.0t. How is this one getting 20?

    • @haxorizm1663
      @haxorizm1663 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It weighs 500-700lbs more and driving route may have been different. It should get way more than 20… this must be a gas engine only figure.

    • @qaztzaq
      @qaztzaq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. That is gas engine only. And it is because of the extra weight if comparing apples to apples. It’s meant for short commutes and charging to get the 35plus mpg

  • @stuinvests
    @stuinvests 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wranglers are built terribly. Matt, you have a tester for a week and you still have a squeaky steering wheel and the engine light went on. Imagine the problems you will have if you keep the vehicle. You won’t have these problems nearly as much with a Japanese vehicle. Also, there are no rear side air bags and the Wrangler flipped on the small overlap test.
