    Good video, not to crap on any Jeeper you got what you wanted, keep us posted when you use the heated seats and steering wheel in electric-wonder how much energy those will take, and we know that Sahara is pretty good on the road and with twenty inch wheels would not be good when you’re really four wheeling. loving the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain after owning a Rubicon 4xe for two months!
    I recommend that Jeep create a Gladiator 392 4xe, that is, using bed space for large battery in addition to the awesome V8 Hemi engine in the Wrangler 392. Best of both worlds, and hopefully with good high-power auxiliary power outlets like the Ford Pro Power Onboard system. Opportunity for Stellantis/Jeep, perhaps.

    Now I don’t deny it’s a dope looking ride, which I think is their appeal. That being said, I got a rav4 with Apple car play, remote start, black rims, black emblems, keyless everything, blind spot monitoring, led everything, etc., for 33k. I don’t drive much as I work at home these days but I just can’t fathom spending 55k for something that doesn’t even offer what base entry model cross overs offer. Am I missing something? No disrespect at all, you did a great video showing the Jeep.
    Edit. I see what you did there with the price breakdown at the end. That makes sense man. Plus you just can’t get around how dope they look. There’s an image of driving a Jeep no other suv can really compare too.

    I own a BMW i3 and no stranger to EV ownership. looked into the 4xe to replace my current Jeep and decided against it for many reasons. There is a users forum where you can learn about it more to help you decide. The concept is cool but once I took a deep dive dive into the vehicles architecture I decided against it. The poor range, choice of ICE with the 2.0T Hurricane engine, and the loss of EV mode to scrub the gas by running the ICE for long periods of time due to contaminated oil with gas were too many negatives. Great concept but at the end the vehicle is not for me. YMMV

    • @amentauto3610
      @amentauto3610  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well you want to scrub the gas because its not good for the engine, gaskets, fuel lines, to just sit idle for weeks at a time. You don't want to run 6 month old gas through the vehicle so if its not used for a while it will fire up the engine on occasion just to make sure its running properly. This is just a thing with plug in hybrids.

    Hello, few questions for you. 1) How slow does the car become when an electric motor is dead? 2) Can it always recharge when running in regeneration mode? My only concern is that, jeeps are known to be slow, 4XE and 392 are quick, 392 is not a good lease deal, while 4XE is very good lease deals out there so my only concern if I'm going on a 3-hour trip somewhere, will the battery die in hybrid mode and then become slow AF? thanks!

    • @amentauto3610
      @amentauto3610  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No its not "slow AF" when battery is dead. Technically the battery never fully depletes and gets below 10%. So if you floor it you will always have some kind of reserve so acceleration stays consistent. It can always recharge the battery in regeneration mode but gas mileage does suffer because the engine is running harder to charge the battery. RPM seems to hover a few hundred higher when its in battery regen mode. We took ours on a 5 hour road trip and it was great, other than the slightly noisy cabin.

      Batteries are much better than we thought when the Prius was introduced. I read a recent study that looked at 15 year old cars. The batteries do degrade but about half of the original estimate, 1% per year. The warranty is real good. If you bought a new battery it would be expensive but thanks to the individual cell construction there are shops around that take batteries out of wrecks and can rebuild you battery by replacing the few bad cells with newer ones, I've heard $1500 or so.

      But, the price has nothing to do with it being electric. We always get shafted here with the exchange rates. Especially for options that are more environmentally friendly. You'd think they'd want to make these options more affordable. Just as an example, the eco diesel engine option costs 2-3 x more than it does in the states once you convert from USD to CAD. It might also be because the only trim level they offered with these 4Xe's here in Canada are unlimited Rubicon's. and those to begin with are 50-55k without the hybrid motor. The cheapest 4Xe i saw on a chrystler lot was 65k CAD before any taxes and fee's. the Most i've seen is 75k CAD before. It's just not worth even buying here. You can get Mercedes G Wagons for that price and those are killer off roaders.

      When we LEASED they gave the $7500 as a rebate. That's why for a couple months these leased for $270 a month (its a 55K vehicle). In 10 years the battery does not HAVE to be replaced, the battery will lose about 25% of its capacity which does not mean it has to be replaced. The electric range in 10 years would simply be 17ish miles vs today's 24.
