    There was another gentleman on TH-cam who had two level 2's installed and he found out something interesting. IF you do NOT tell the electrician that you want a plug for an EV but lets say a dryer or even an air compressor. The cost will be vastly cheaper. He got one to install it under the guise of a dryer outlet which has the same wattage as level 2 outlet for EVs for $250 vs what electricians charge for an EV outlet of over $1K. And Yes, its the same exact thing!

    I agree with your review…
    My Wrangler 4xe is a 2021 Sahara JL Unlimited model.
    I have a 60 mile, round trip daily work commute. I charge at home and at work on a level 2 charger. I go about 75% of my commute on electric power. Since I do use the gas engine some of the way on my commute, my MPG is only about 50. I love it.
    My employer lets me plug in and use the company electricity.
    If I religiously keep to this schedule I normally get about 3 weeks of commuting out of a tank of gas. And that is fantastic.
    This vehicle saves me a lot of $$$ and since it’s a Jeep it’s gonna be around a long time…
    Great job on the video and your commentary.

    Thank you so much for the review! I watched other videos about the 4xe works I was a bit confused about how the jeep runs depending on which mode is on (mileage, acceleration, speed, etc), and how the max regeneration works. You made it easy to understand! Former jeep wrangler owner here. I miss having a jeep sooo much! I want to buy the 4xe. My job is about 12 miles from home so the electric mode will definitely come in handy! Especially with gas prices right now.

    Great and well thought out review. Love the acceleration demos. And we can do that again, since we can recover nearly all that kinetic energy. I have had my 4xE for a month. Seventh Jeep, who is counting? Yeah the fastest I ever drove. I suspect the 396 might be faster and way cooler sounding, while being significantly less practical and way more expensive overall. The 4xE is like having a V8 when you want it. I never thought I would ever buy a PHEV. Owning this changed my mind, and even my " I would never drive a jeep" wife, refers to it as our Jeep.

  • @johnporter9808
    @johnporter9808 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Using the three buttons to choose hybrid, electric or e-save is cool but this car is always a hybrid. You are selecting a bias towards whichever button you push. For example if you are in electric and accelerate a lot the gas engine will come on for a few seconds. It will also come on at about 60 mhp/100kph.

      Great question and one that people don’t talk about enough. It’s tough to say as it depends on how you use the battery (just like with your phone battery). That's a really tough question. It is a hefty price tag. It's a little easier to swallow if you can get any tax credits. But the biggest thing that I know about Jeeps are that they do hold their value over time. We had a Rubicon for a few years and sold it for the same amount we paid for it.

    So if you are in Electric mode, then you step on the gas, no matter how fast you are, it will always stay in EV mode? Or will the gas engine kick in when it hits a certain speed?

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not speed dependent at all. You could go 90mph in all electric. But once the electric battery starts to deplete, it will switch to hybrid mode. It will always maintain some sort of battery charge so you’re never in all gas mode unless you choose to be.
